Royals back home. Bottom of the 1st, 0-0. Really, really hoping we drop the hammer on the White Sox this weekend, and cleanse the pallet from some pretty awful tasting losses in Baltimore.

Yeah, it's corny. One of the worst things about instant replay in baseball so far. All the defender has to do is be late with the throw, late with the tag, but keep the glove on the runner and wait for the runner to not have contact with the bag for a millisecond, and the runner is out. Corny.

As much as the pen has gotten the blame, and they deserve it so far, the offense has let them down quite a bit in the late innings. 2 total runs scored 7th inning or later all year so far. An insurance run or two would be nice.

Man, this thing went from a nailbiter to a laugher, and I mean laugher with a capital "L" thanks to Shewmake, in a hurry.

Here's a baseball rule I've never understood. So Salvy won't be credited with any RBI's due to the runners scoring as a result of Shewmake's error at short. However, without the ball being batted into play, the runners had zero chance of scoring. Why shouldn't a hitter get RBI's for that? If the pitcher isn't penalized, why does the hitter GET penalized?
