Will the Patriots be back

MAC JONES HAD ONE OF THE BEST PRESEASONS PFF HAS EVER SEEN
Jones closed out his first preseason in the NFL ranks with another quality performance. Once again, he made several accurate and anticipatory throws, just as he did at Alabama, and he made very few mistakes as a passer over three games.

Jones earned a 77.1 passing grade for his Week 3 game and a 92.2 mark overall for the preseason. The latter beat out Patrick Mahomes in 2017 for the best single-preseason passing grade by a rookie quarterback since PFF began tracking the games in 2013.

The first-year signal-caller led all quarterbacks this preseason in passing grade on 10-plus-yard throws, negatively graded throw rate and turnover-worthy play rate (0%). The rookie did everything he could to win the starting quarterback job, and the chances are that he'll be taking the reins in New England sooner rather than later.

No.

ThyKingdomCome15 08-30-2021 03:50 PM

Really...

Sofa King 08-30-2021 03:51 PM

No.

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-30-2021 03:52 PM

Do you think Bellychick is going to let Tom Brady show him up again?

Coochie liquor 08-30-2021 03:57 PM

Would it be more amazing that Brady won with another team last year, or if BB wins with a different quarterback?

Eureka 08-30-2021 04:07 PM

The Pats are an unknown. It seems the Pats were taking last year off to recoup. They had quite a few defensive starters out and no QB.

This year they spent big $$ and have their starters who were due to covid back. Their Defense looks good on paper and if this Mac Jones guy can just be a decent game manger with a few wow plays in-between the Pats will make some noise.

Steve Grogan Fan, that you?

Pablo 08-30-2021 04:17 PM

No. They're a 8 win team. Their division isn't total shit like it was the entire time Tommy was there. He saw the writing on the wall and got the **** out before he tarnished his legacy.

They live here in Kansas City without the cheating and serial killers on the team

Surely you don't believe that???

I think he was sick and tired of BB and the Patriot way.

You make some good points, the Jets, Phins and Bills are all much improved over what they were during the time Tommy was there. I think the Patsy's will make some noise and their defense will give teams trouble. If they can go 4-2 in their division, they will probably be a wild card team.

The AFC East is playing the NFC South so it should be a pretty good test for that division.

Sassy Squatch 08-30-2021 04:22 PM

Return to their past dominance? No. Be a playoff contender? Absolutely, especially if Jones takes the starting job over soon enough.

Sassy Squatch 08-30-2021 04:25 PM

Tough division? The ****? It's the Bills and that's it. The Dolphins would rather take their chances with an alleged rapist over their current starting QB, and the Jets are having the most Jetsiest of off seasons.

No, sorry. There’s a super Pats homer that posts on here. I think his name is SteveGroganFan or something close. I honestly don’t know much about Mac, but I saw what BB did with game manager Brady, so no telling what he can do with Jones.

Marcellus 08-30-2021 05:18 PM

I dont know about when they will be good as team but Mac Jones has looked good, it is what it is.

FlaChief58 08-30-2021 05:23 PM

That franchise cheats like no other, probably. Just not yet

chiefzilla1501 08-30-2021 05:35 PM

God I hope not.

The fans need a huge dose of humble pie.

And the mass media tried to destroy football by slobbering all over them, just as they are trying to destroy so many other sports.

Hopefully the NFL has finally learned their lesson that are even more popular without any more of this dramatic nonsense.

MMXcalibur 08-30-2021 05:43 PM

Red Dawg 08-30-2021 05:54 PM

I will forgive Bill for all his shit if they break Bradys leg in 6 weeks.

But no, they are not back. They are done winning shit.

MTG#10 08-30-2021 06:01 PM

I would never wish a natural disaster on anyone, but if God held a gun to my head and made me choose between NO or Boston those chowderhead pricks would be ****ed.

Belichick winning with another QB. Brady was carried to that SB by a stacked team catching an injured KC at the right time. Plus in order for Belichick to do it he would have to get past KC which is no small feat.

RealSNR 08-30-2021 09:35 PM

Boston: The racist San Francisco

jrowe 08-30-2021 09:36 PM

Now that they have Yasir Durant, success is the only option

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-31-2021 08:45 AM

They're going to have a pretty damn good defense this year AGAIN

Have they ever not had a Top 15 defense under Belichick?

Flying High D 08-31-2021 08:47 AM

Cutting Cam, better by amputation.

Godzalez 08-31-2021 08:49 AM

Nobody actually knows. Mac Jones could be complete trash in the regular season... or god forbid he might actually be for real.

Flying High D 08-31-2021 08:55 AM

One mans trash is another mans cam.

That commercial was kinda funny. And don't know Sam Adams. Out of everything that comes out of Boston, it is one of the few things that I like. ;)

chiefzilla1501 08-31-2021 09:22 AM

The Patriots ruined football. Bellichick cronies infested teams like a virus and destroyed franchise after franchise. They play boring ass football. And the media became swamped with their personalityless curmudgeons like Charlie weis and mangini that were jammed down our throats.

And just when we thought we were done patriot south became relevant in Tampa.

I think the vast majority of nfl fans are ready for this shit to be over with. So I hope Mac Jones falls flat on his face. Football doesn't need a patriot resurgence as much as they think they do.

Agree, the whole desperate attempt to get everyone to care about the Bellichik-Brady psychodrama. I'm not rooting for either of them to get one over the other, I want them both to get beaten badly. F***ing "Tompa Bay"

MahomesMagic 08-31-2021 12:10 PM

Nope.

Betting on the Dolphins to win the AFC East and putting $$$$ on Dolphins to beat Patriots week 1.

Any 3rd and long and rag arm Mac Jones is dead to rights.

Great Expectations 08-31-2021 12:24 PM

If I was making a prediction the last source of information I’d be looking at is PFF preseason positional grades.

I do think their rookie RB has looked really good.

Ya'll gotta get past Buffalo first. They are not the pushovers they have been for most of the Pats reign. Miami is no easy win anymore, especially if Tua is even somewhat competent.

Just a little playful jab.;)

KC
BUF
BAL
CLE
NE

PIT or MIA are sketchy

If we don't get Gilmore back we are screwed.

Mac will make a ton of mistakes this year. Hope 2022 is when we are back at the top.

I can’t think the fish are going to be any good. Everybody is high on Flores. I just don’t see it. You absolutely cannot run a rookie QB and then pull him when shit gets real. Inexcusable.

That screams to me “Arrogant Cheatriot ****bag.” Just like the rest of them.

I have no idea how anyone can think that team is going anywhere.

Kiimo 08-31-2021 01:46 PM

We're talking about the Patriots too much today. We should concentrate on teams that are going to make the playoffs.

They won 10 games last year and Tua wasn't ready.

They added Waddle and Fuller to the offense. They added Jaelan Phillips to the defense.

All difference makers.

Biggest? Is can Flores do better against Buffalo and Brian Daboll.

I think so which is why I'm all in on Miami winning the division.

I've seen enough from Tua to make me think he's going to make a nice jump.

The last Alabama QB to succeed in the NFL was... Joe Namath?

Good luck with that history, Faketriots.

Brodie Croyle could have been a contender!

Pats building a team like it is 1974. ROFL

Play defense, 3 yard dump offs and run the ball!

Brilliant!

Williskey 09-01-2021 08:04 AM

i doubt they would have done this without a move planned. Brees comes out of retirement? hehe

We shall see how Mac Jones performs once the real bullets start flying.

I never put much stock in pre season ever.

Flying High D 09-01-2021 08:15 AM

The Patriots will be in the back stall sucking Merle Haggards cock.

MahomesMagic 09-01-2021 08:21 AM

I see the Patriots as winning around 7 games after a very slow start.

Chief Roundup 09-01-2021 08:24 AM

The same Patriots that made Matt Cassel look good too.
