Documentaries
Netflix, amazon prime, on demand
What you got? More than a feeling the story of Chicago was much better than I thought it would be |
McMillions is good.
I watched both the ones on the Fyre Festival. Apparently I missed all that. Free Solo is horrifying but a must watch. I watched one about the engineer of the 08 bailout. Hell if I can remember what it’s called. That may be just me nerding out. |

twenty feet from stardom was great.
Frank and Cindy The doc was great lol. I’ve watched tons of docs |
You'll like this one. By the end the old lady will too.

Curiosity Stream is awesome. I highly recommend that streaming documentary channel.
|
Bayou Maharajah about the great pianist James Booker is fantastic if you're into music docs.
|
The ZZ Top documentary on Netflix is one of the most entertaining music documentaries I’ve seen in quite some time.

Dont **** With Cats was unexpected and crazy...at least for me because I had never heard of the Luka Magnotta creep.
|
Rare Earth is a great youtube channel for short docs. I don't always agree with the channel owners/presenters political ideas but there is plenty entertaining and informative there.

Adam Carolla's second docu about race car drivers |

How to fix a drug scandal was good. I’d call it a documentary.
|
Finders Keepers was funny.
Guy left his lower leg in a smoker in a storage unit. Guy buys storage unit contents. Hilarity ensues. I’m still not sure it was real |
The Barkley marathons was a really good watch. That old man is great.
It’s a 5 marathon ultra run through the sticks... 60 hours to get it done |
You watch Cheer yet?

For people that love documentaries take a look at the True/False film festival website.
If you love documentaries you really should try to make it to Columbia during True/False. Here is a link to the list of films. Some aren't available anywhere yet, but you can at least keep an eye out for them. I HIGHLY recommend Boys State. |
How to Fix a Drug Scandal was really interesting.

EDIT: and lol at being a chemist and adding water to liquid meth like its your parents vodka |
Unidentified was good. Couple episodes were meh, but mostly good.
Top Gear or Grand Tour are great. Ancient Aliens is always good for a laugh. Or as a drinking game. You have to drink every time someone says, "ancient alien experts believe . . ." you get drunk really fast. Deadliest Catch. Great show. WWII: in the Pacific WWII in HD The National Parks |
Rock Prophecies
2009 · 1hr 20min · Documentary/Music 7/10 IMDb Photographer Robert Knight has been capturing rock & roll history through his camera lens since the late '60s, snapping some of the earliest appearances of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones. But not content to be merely a classic-rock dinosaur, Knight continues to champion and mentor early-21st century musician… |
Watched Trapper Jake last night. Was pretty good if you can get over animals dying, sometimes horribly. But it’s amazing what that 97 year old man would do every day.
Also watched “ vanning ” . I could almost see planeteers avatars talking when the people talked. If you watch it you’ll get my point ROFL |
Watching “the innocence project” currently.
It’s worth a watch |
Same. The neo-nazi gang inside the sheriff's department was wild. The Vikings LMAO
|
Admittedly indifferent on ZZ Top as a band, but I felt that documentary was way vanilla. There was some mention of drug use and rehab but I was expecting some Ozzie level stories and instead heard about that one time they played a show and one person showed up.
|
A good YouTube follow is 60 second docs. They have some interesting short documentaries including one about the two guys who won an MTV weekend with Van Halen contest.
