between the chargers and redskins, you really do gotta believe it's not just bad luck on injuries, they are legit screwing shit up with training and medical care.

all teams are susceptible to bad luck, geezus dont push it even further with medical incompetence!!

There are coincidences

There is bad luck

And then there's whatever the **** the Chargers are doing to their players.

I think Philip Rivers is the cause of all this suffering. He's the only common link between that shit that was happening to them during the Norv years and now. Dude should probably be thrown in jail.

If you wanna look that injury up you'll find this...

Stress fractures on the fifth metatarsal are the hardest to heal and likely require surgery. Healing time is typically at least 3 months.

The 5th metatarsal is a bone located on the foot that connects to the pinkie toe (put your finger on the far right side of your right foot, that’s where it is)

It’s also the most common metatarsal bone to break

Their secondary is not the same without James back there. This will cost them some wins for sure.

Mecca 08-16-2019 12:57 PM

This is called a Jones fracture, it’s one of the hardest to heal and predict. It’s also one that can very easily re-break if you try to come back too early. Dez Bryant had this fracture and had multiple foot problems following it.

Risky if re-injury on this is very high, especially if he tries to come back to soon.

Buckweath 08-16-2019 12:58 PM

That's football.

The Chiefs' turn will come, surely.

As they say, it's a game of attrition.

No doctor could help them.

Frustrated, Rivers went to the devil and asked for help.

The Devil said,"I will help you, but each baby you make will result in a season ending injury to a key teammate."

Rivers agreed, started making a babies, and never stopped............

:hmmm: Rivers must be a succubus of health. He absorbs the health of his teammates. He is not often injured, when he is, he plays through some brutal injuries (ACL?), and the injuries are happening to the other players more frequently as Rivers ages.

Prove me wrong.

2006 Browns sign the top free agent available that year, LeCharles Bentley, to what was a record breaking contract for a center.

Sounds like when the Texans were starting and they spent the first pick of the expansion draft to get Tony Boselli.

**** superstition. **** "karma." **** "juju" and all that other bullshit. Yeah, I'll still buy into tradition, like the correct number of asterisks in the titles of game threads, but not because it's going to help us win, or anything like that.

"The Chargers have managed to stay relatively throughout the course of the past few weeks, but there still have been some key players dinged up.

Among the notables are free safety Nasir Adderley, cornerback Trevor Williams and wide receiver Keenan Allen.

Adderley has been out for the majority of training camp with a hamstring issue. Coach Anthony Lynn said last week that he had been dealing with some soreness, but the duration of the rookie's absence has drawn some concerns.

Per The Athletic's Daniel Popper, coach Anthony Lynn does not want to put a timetable on Adderley. "You have to be patient with those soft-tissue injuries. But I would like to see him out here because training camp is very valuable," Lynn said.

Lynn was asked if he will play in the preseason and he responded by saying, "If he's ready."

Williams, who landed on the injured reserve in 2018 due to a knee injury, hasn't practiced since before the preseason opener. It was uncertain whether or not it was injury related, and Lynn confirmed that it is.

Lynn said Williams' injury -- which he originally called minor -- has carried on longer than he expected it would. No timetable has been set on Williams' return.

Williams entered training camp in contention for the No. 2 cornerback spot with Michael Davis, but his absence only benefits Davis.

Allen is likely going to miss the rest of the preseason after suffering an injury during practice this week, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. He injured his ankle, and although it doesn't appear to be serious, Allen is going to have to have to wait until Sept. 8 to make his 2019 debut.

#Chargers S Derwin James will undergo surgery on his foot following evaluations of the stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal, sources say. He’s expected to be sidelined around three months. The surgery will be performed by noted foot and ankle specialist Robert Anderson

The first game between the two is in November, which is right around when he is scheduled to return.

If he does return in time, I would have to think he’ll be a step slow and not in game shape at the very least. Having Tyreek, Mecole, and Watkins as the deep threats that he faces in his first or second game back is a tall task.

Who would’ve thought at the end of last season that the Chiefs would have the better situation at safety right now?

I’d like to see a repeat of that this season.
