I’ll have to go look through my case file, but I believe there might have been a reference that you could possibly attribute to this whole thing.

I understand why Patrick has to stay away, but Patrick and Dieter are close so I wouldn’t be surprised if Mahomes is offering support through a mutual friend

He literally occupied no less than 2 defenders on every single down of that game.

If the offensive line didn't let no name scrubs like Kyle Van Noy go off for like 3 sacks or literally any one of our other WRs or TEs decided to beat their man straight up in the first 30 minutes we win that game, thanks in large part to Tyreek.

Hell, if Dee Ford isn't a ****ing dumbshit we still win that game. What a stupid **** that guy is. How do you play organized football for like 10+ years and end up lining up like 4 yards offsides in the most important game of your life?

**** you, Dee.

Do you realize that we still scored enough points to force OT?

BossChief 06-19-2019 07:27 PM

It’s gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.

Manning’s teams always spent high picks to put top shelf guys around him on offense (Harrison, Wayne, James, Clark, Addai, Gonzalez and Brown), to help him win and the defense suffered...though partly due to a high amount of high pick busts on defense) Made it to lots of big games but very rarely had the defense to get his high scoring offenses over the championship hump. I’m sure they would have loved to have a DL with Jones talent level...and I’m positive they would have loved to have had Hill.

Brady’s team has let almost everyone walk or traded them (Gronk, Law, Hernandez, Seymour, Wilfork and Warren being the exceptions..maybe a couple others) instead of paying them top dollar.

The results speak for themselves.

The Manning colts probably pay Hill and Jones.

It’s hard to say NE wouldn’t pay Hill because he’s exactly the type of guy they do pay. Matchup nightmare like Gronk and Hernandez. A guy that changes the way the defenses call games. But they wouldn’t give him more than they internally feel he’s worth to the team. No way would they give him 100m. But I could see them giving him a top 5 deal.

BleedingRed 06-19-2019 07:31 PM

Colts had two pretty good DEs that they paid

And outside of the occasional Bob Sanders appearance, that’s all they had.

In Indy, Manning probably never had a defense as talented as the 2019 KC defense.

My point being, I don’t want Mahomes to end up like Manning when he deserves to be a better version of Tom Brady.

Mahomes needs to take team friendly deals then. God knows his contract will be a load, if he wins SBs I’ll approve said load

He would be silly to not take as much as possible, at least on his first contact.

The wound may be fresher but hasn't had time to fester.

We know how things went following that game. We have hope that Ford was a hiccup on the way to real greatness unlike what this team has known in over 50 years.

Even if the future is as bright as we all dream I am not sure the scar from "that person" will ever be gone for those who went through it.

Hill

That leaves 2 spots for

Dieter - not really a special teams guy
Pringle - looking great
Custis - team gave abnormal UDFA contract to
Davis -team drafted
Kemp - ST guy

Dieter needs luck to make the team

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 06-19-2019 10:24 PM

Look at all that talent at WR we have now. Incredible! We have all been around long enough to remember when we had one maybe two guys that were decent. I think Dieter ends up the best slot Wr of the bunch- the rest are all kind of the same skill set imo.

Dante84 06-19-2019 11:20 PM

Hill
Watkins
Robinson
Hardman
Pringle

I think we roll with 7, so pick 2:
- Thompson / Dieter / Custis / Davis / Kemp

• Thompson is a ST badass and has had a bunch of great catches in the offseason.
• Dieter is Pat’s warm up buddy and gels with the team. Will it be enough?
• Custis is raw but rocking a Calvin Johnson frame. Won’t make it to the PS if cut.
• Davis is tall and talented, but coming off a bad injury. Ideal IR candidate.
• We know what Kemp has to offer. Is it worth keeping over others? I don’t think so.

Intensely loyal to the Chiefs for doing right by him? Check.
Spent time off working out by himself like Robert Deniro in Cape Fear? Check.
Already the best WR in the NFL even before this? Check.

Maybe. But wouldn't it also be smart to ask for a 10 year, $200 million contract that is 100% guaranteed? $200 million has him set financially for generations and the team is financially able to keep a good team around him to win multiple Superbowls. That would be a win for everyone.

Why do we still not speak Elliott's name but Ford gets a pass.

Ford's miscue was more ****ed.

I feel about Dee Ford the way Ray Finkle's mom feels about Dan Marino.

And if that reference is too old for some of the embryos around here:

The only reason to assume Custis makes the team is a $100k signing bonus. I didn't read one positive report from OTAs or minicamp on him. No coaches talking about him. He will be on the PS or another roster.

Right now, I'd put money down on:

1. Hill
2. Watkins
3. Robinson
4. Hardman
5. Pringle
6. Kemp
7. Dieter

If they only take six, then my best guess is that they aren't worried about Dieter leaving, so he's on the PS. Cody Thompson will be on the PS, if history tells us anything. There is always some unheralded guy kicking ass, and he goes to the practice squad. There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth until no other team picks him up. And then some asshole will post "LOL CP never change - you thought he was good!"

That asshole will casually forget his past snark three years later when said player goes off in a divisional game.
