We put up 51 points...and lost
Has that ever happened? I honestly do not know. I direct this question to the Wizard Bob Sutton.
|
Are we allowed to talk about the fact that our offense pretty much gave up 21 of those points?
|

Monday night’s game was the first in NFL history where both teams scored 50 points. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, no team in NFL history has scored 50 points in a loss. Entering the game, NFL teams scoring 50+ points were 216-0 all-time. So much for that....
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 20, 2018

Our offense actually put up 44 points but still...yeah. 3 scoring turnovers will hurt up regardless....

If we’re being fair, the defense really only gave up 30 to another great ****ing offense on the road in their house. Plus, they made some big game changing plays. Not really that bad of a performance by the D overall. |

We scored...fifty...one...points. Five one.

McVey was still throwing the rock with less than 80 seconds to go. |
Fyre Sutton he should have coached Scandrick not to drop a game winning INT or Nelson not to hold every play

:DIt's a far more entertaining way to lose than what we used to watch as Chiefs fans.
|
2 playoff collapses and now losing when the offense scored 51 points. Grandpa Bob has owned some bad defensive performances with his time as the Chiefs defensive coordinator. That asshole should retire out of embarrassment since Andy won’t fire his ass.

Chiefs gotta be the best at something. Why not this? LMAO

KC could lose 90-85 and the Sutton lovers would find excuses as to why he's a good DC, LOL.....

..they've lost two games by a total of six points, by top teams. |

Read these comments from NFL fans and feel a little better. So many fans enjoyed the hell out of this classic game. |

Play the Raiders twice in 5 games so I’m sure Bob will look somewhat competent and when they give up another 50 burger to a good team in January he will have that look of I don’t know what happened again.
|
Lot of people was acting like Sorenson was a savior when he came back and he’s the same guy who wouldn’t be on another NFL roster. They picked on scandrick first and then went after sorenson who is taking time from Lucas who at least showed some play making skills and was only getting better.
|
Super pumped that we didn't bring in anyone to shore up the D before the trade deadline. All is well
|
That was a hell of a game... if you like offense. Tough loss for sure, but it should tell you that KC can play with anyone. The turnovers converted to TDs killed you more than the defense really. Watching Mahomes and Goff was a lot of fun.
|
Bend and break D. Sutton special.

Here are all the records/milestones from that instant classic...

Putting up a fiddy burger and winning is so 2017.
If that kind of shite football game was what the NFL wants, they can ****ing have it without my eyes. |
Gonna have to start scoring 60.

The only thing I got out of this sorry ass showing by the defense we could at least our offense can stick with anybody. Well except for maybe the saints.

Just watched it this morning; what a really fun game. KC will be fine. Mahomes will be fine (and thankfully escaped unharmed against many hits). Hope no one is too down about this one L. So much good going for KC and so much more to come.
I usually get contrary about these shootout type of games. Stubborn old-school defense mentality, and yeah, also cuz my boo could never put up stats like these. LOL Still though, I'm adapting with the new NFL, and it's a lot of fun as a semi-Chiefs' fan. :) |
Our DL is pretty damn good but LBs and secondary are trash and the only reason we are not undefeated. If they were just a little better we beat NE and the Rams. They can't cover worth a shit and good QBs have feasted on them. Ben, Brady, Rivers and now Goff.

Until then, still nice to know that KC will still be very relevant come playoff time. |

Defense gave up 33 points and even scored a TD for us and we still lost.
The offense gave the Rams 21 points LMAO I guess that’s Sutton’s fault too |
Turnovers lost the game for us for sure.

I thought the D played well considering..if Scandrick could ****ing catch we win. Not to mention the ref **** jobs throughout the game. Not to Mention Andy going clock reerun again and not running the ball when they were out of timeout. I've never been so disappointed to see us score and never happier to see an opponent score when LA scored with just under 2 minutes left

This is just the first of many more games with both teams scoring 50+ points. This is what the NFL wants because that is what the fans want. Smashmouth football and jacked up hits are now relics of NFL history. |
I came away nothing but encouraged. 5 turnovers and you still drop 51 on the road? That's insane.
5 turnovers probably won't happen again. I think the Chiefs are a better team than the Rams and would likely win a rematch. The Saints? Not sure anyone's stopping them. But the Chiefs are capable. The score would probably look similar to last night. |
Donald was a beast. Why weren't they double teaming him?

Our offense (Mahomes) gave up 14 points DIRECTLY and 7 INDIRECTLY.
Our defense did much better than most are giving credit for. We all know our secondary sucks and that is the weak link. We did great on the rush and held them on most runs and screens and swing passes for the most part. |
KC had 15 drives... 3 ended in punts, 2 ended in fumbles and 3 ended in interceptions, including the final 2 drives.
Game was tied at the half and KC had 9 drives in the 2nd half, with 6 of those 9 drives ending in a punt or a turnover. That's why KC narrowly lost a shootout. Protect the ball, whining about the refs just makes you feel better. Rams also had 15 drives... 2 ended with the close of the 2nd and 4th quarters. 2 fumbles and 4 punts. KC had 7 drives that produced points. Rams had 7 drives that produced points.... main difference, the 14 points scored by the Rams on defense thanks to a fumble and interception. Shit happens... overall, I don't know how anyone walks away feeling bad about the future of the season. Missed opportunity? Sure, but it's the one time Mahomes made a handful of mistakes and I'm sure that's going to be rare. |

Move forward. Win the Division. Secure HFA throughout. And take our chances. KC can play with anyone. :thumb: |

Sidenote.... was down 100+ points in fantasy. Other team was done, I had Goff, Cooks, Hill and Butker. I won by many - crazy crazy crazy. |
Seems people are being typically extreme.
1. The defense did some good things. KC had the ball, twice, with a chance to win or tie with a FG. Bottom line: That's what you want. KC didn't finish the job. Period. 2. The defense did not play 'well'. Goff had 4 TD's and over 400 yards. The fact that the Rams D padded the score out with multiple TD's doesn't change the fact that the Rams mostly marched up and down the field with little resistance. |
