What TV/streaming game viewing options exist for watching Texans game in real time?

Finally, Chiefs football is here!!

I can GUARANTEE the Chiefs will not be live on TV up here in PackerLand.

The streaming site i used last year: Sportsfree.XYZ appears to be dead.

What other options exist without driving to KC?

Thanks

I would say wait on sportsarefree. my gut says they will be back up during the season in some way shape or form.

I wouldn't be surprised if (given how popular that site was), three more pop up this year.

That said, given it's preseason, you will need another option. :D

You want to legally watch the local CBS Chiefs broadcast?
  • Pay CBS All-Access $6 a month through the season. Cancel when the season is over.Pull up any browser.
  • You change where you are physically located in your browser. Lots of ways to do it, just google it.
  • Now your located in KC and get local CBS KC programming, including Chiefs games.
  • Attach an HDMI cable to your TV and watch on the TV's big screen

it's fine. Australia has shit internet capabilities. One of my friends there in NSW struggles simply playing movie trailers off of youtube.

Nah. You'll occasionally find a wonky stream, but they're usually a direct re-stream of NFL Gamepass International at 720p/60fps. And if one stream sucks, there are typically a dozen more to play with.

JoeyChuckles 08-06-2018 09:56 AM

Have you tried TexansPlanet? They probably have a link.

No, the quality does not suck unless you pick a low bandwidth stream. The Acestreams are usually particularly good. Just take the stream that has the most upvotes and you're good.

Coogs 08-06-2018 01:27 PM

I have a Streamsmart Pro Plus box. I know some here do not like them, but it works pretty darn well for what I need. It has an app on it in Live TV, called Grizzly Streams, that has 157 local channels from all over the US. Roughly 40 from each network (ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox). KC stations are in there as well.

Little pricey up front, but again, it has served me well. One time fee to purchase. Get all of the addons, and more, listed in the kodi thred in the media center.

MahiMike 08-08-2018 01:26 PM

I heard NFL Network say they will have all the preseason games.

They typically have all of them - just not live except for a handful.

Who knows? We might actually get showcased the final preseason game against the Packers?

Oz_Chief 08-08-2018 02:44 PM

In the spirit of being thorough:

NFL Game Pass costs $100 ($120 if paid in installments). You get all preseason games live. You also get to watch regular seasons games post-broadcast. You can listen to radio broadcast live.

Post-broadcast video comes in three versions. Broadcast version (with ads), short version (no ads, no time in between plays), and all-22. These are available all season.

I've only experienced lag like all the others sites. This one is a milisecond faster. :)

It's been my go to for some time.

Can you pause it during live games

This DOES NOT work. Don’t waste your time trying this. I was so excited that this actually works, streaming KCTV5 from Jacksonville, FL... then game time comes: “The current show isn’t available for live streaming. We’ll resume programming shortly.” The NFL must’ve caught on.

OldSchool 08-09-2018 08:04 PM

I go to reddit for all of my streams. Just look up reddit nfl streams.

This part is important...

Yessir. Did that. As mentioned, I was streaming KCTV5 until game time. Then the message that I quoted popped up.

eDave 08-09-2018 08:18 PM

I ran a side by side comparison between the reddit stream and Wiz1.

- Reddit stream was better video but ads, sidebars, chat, etc. all over the page.
- Wiz1 video is a bit lower, no ads, banners, etc, and was one play ahead of Reddit stream.

Both are very stable.

Choice is yours.

Cast a tab from chrome browser to a chromecast or android TV capabale device is pretty slick for these streaming alternatives as well.

Works in the regular season. We use it when our Chiefs group gets together down here to watch games. About 10 games last year.

The Chiefs own the pre-Season broadcast, it’s only for local broadcast.

jaa1025 08-09-2018 08:23 PM

I cancelled cable and got youtube TV thinking i'd be fine streaming the game. It let me watch Royals games but Chiefs are blacked out. WTF. Guess I'll be cancelling this.

Like BRC said, the preseason is different. The Chiefs do their own production for their preseason games, and because of that they own the broadcasting rights for live broadcast, which they only give to the local KCTV5 station. The Chiefs don't bother with any digital broadcasting access at all for preseason, so digital sources like CBS All-Access, Youtube.TV, Sling, etc do not have any rights to broadcast it.

The regular season will work just fine though. You will be able to live stream and record I assure you.

Thank you sir; good to know. I’ll hold off on cancelling CBS All Access for the season games. Thanks again!
