So the Mrs. And I are going to sell our home in kc and move to our lake place Grand Lake OK. Going to be working in Joplin Mo. Any recommendations on good restaurants and bars in Joplin would be appreciated.

Red Hot and Blue Bar B Que

Always stop there when I pass through town.

Dartgod 06-07-2018 02:48 PM

Good luck, sounds like fun. I'd love to live at the lake full time.

Tell her I said hi.

Joplin has several good locally owned restaurants. The top three “nice” ones are:

Mythos
Crabby’s
Wilders

609 also has pretty good food and an awesome happy hour.

More fun restaurants are Eagle Drive-in (specialty burgers), Hackett’s Hot Wings, Instant Karma (specialty hot dogs and craft beer), The Bruncheonette, Kinnaree Thai Cuisine, Ichiban for suishi, Woody’s Woodfire Pizza, Hortons pizza for delivery/take out, Tropicana Bar and Grill, Lalos taqueria, El Vallarta

Infuxn is probably the best bar, that’s mainly just a bar. Most of the above have a bar in the restaurant. I’m sure that I’m also missing a few that others can add in later.

This pretty much covers it.

Our favorite place is Crabby's and I frequent Instant Karma at least 1 day a week, mainly for beer.

People willingly move to Oklahoma?

Simply Red 06-07-2018 03:22 PM

Find a farmer friend and look for arrowheads after a plow and rain. They're everywhere out there. So much fun!

I visited Joplin last year for the first time since I moved away in first grade. I recreated a photo in the driveway of my old house where I was on my way to school. The owner was skeptical at first until I showed him the original picture.

I don't remember any specific restaurants.

Grove close to Longs Resort . Someone asked about moving to OK on purpose but the strange thing is how many people are from California that now live in Grove.

I live in pryor about 45 minutes away and theres a lot of cali transfers. in jr. high and high school we would have 3-7 new kids from cali every year. as a matter of fact that's how my wifes family ended up here. the lure of work in the mid America industrial park and a low cost of living.
