A couple of lucky hits with 2 outs.

Over/under on 1st inning runs allowed by Kennedy?

im not BS’ing. Go look st the Cardinals thread. Every poster in there is ticked about our performance this year.

We have looked like ass most of the year except for our starting pitching. Which has been phenomenal.

There’s the Ian AIDS Kennedy we’ve come to know and hate

Munson 05-21-2018 07:14 PM

There's the Kennedy that we're used to seeing.

Marcellus 05-21-2018 07:16 PM

THAT was ugly.

Munson 05-21-2018 07:16 PM

Even though Kennedy is ass, he's not getting any help from the defense.

Why Not? 05-21-2018 07:16 PM

Lighten up fellas. Kennedy would be a perennial CY Young candidate if it wasn't for that meanie, Rob Manfred.

TomBarndtsTwin 05-21-2018 07:21 PM

Kennedy is hot garbage lately, as are the other veteran starters. Its pathetic, that between Duffy, Kennedy & Hammel, not one of them can give you a chance to win when they take the mound. I mean, i guess i should be glad that Junis & Skoklund are our two best starters right now, since they are the future. But still, you’d think one of the other 3 could actually give you a quality start each time the rotation.

They should just forfeit the first two games to the Cards and then Junis will get his shot in game 3, since he actually gives the team a chance to win when he pitches.

That’s a rookie who’s only starting because Ozuna has sucked ass for so long the manager was forced to sit him out for a game and O’neil got the spot start.

He’s only hit 3 home runs in 3 games. The guy is built like a bodybuilder. Really different for a baseball player. And he’s Canadian.

Al Bundy 05-21-2018 07:24 PM

The pitchers are useless and offense is just as useless.

This guy has been paying attention.

7, 2, 12, 6, 5, 5 so far tonight.

It's been an average NL offense this year, but with Carpenter getting straightened out and them getting some production from an outfielder other than Pham, the offense is showing that it can put up a lot of runs. Keep in mind that they've done all of this without DeJong or Molina.

ChiTown 05-21-2018 07:51 PM

At least you guys will get the picks from Cain and Hosmer. A lot of teams banking on FA compensation this year (like the Cards w/ Lynn) weren't so fortunate. But yeah, it's looking like a real rough patch is in order. Last I checked, the Royals didn't have a single top 100 prospect.

If you can move Herrera and Moustakas for some starting arms, you can start to build a foundation again.

I'm all in on these guys picking it up but you cant argue they gave gone completely absent for long stretches followed by big games then more shit.

I fully understand its a long season and frankly Memorial day on is where things start to heat up but the strikeouts have been an issue for years and if they dont hit HR the scoring goes away.

The common denominator in your stats you listed is HR. And we both know they come in streaks and when they arent there the runs go away.

Yeah, but that's baseball now. You're going to look long and hard to find a team that doesn't play station to station baseball anymore. Teams have more strikeouts than hits now.

No what he means is until Carp has gotten hot in the last week. He and Fowler were no 170 and 171 in hitting out of 171 players with enough eligible at bats.

He has hit .500 for about 7 days now and his average has jumped .50 points to get him to .200.

And come on man we are all Chiefs fans, we know what it means to suck. :D

crayzkirk 05-22-2018 10:37 AM

Well, that wasn't much fun to watch for us Royals fans. Yeah, I knew they would be not very good however I wasn't quite ready for this level of bad. For a Cardinals fan to compare relative team suckitude is rather funny; how many World Series have the Cardinals been to? I know the Royals have been to 4 and went 28 years without sniffing the playoffs.

The Cardinals have overachieved so far and have like a .300 higher winning percentage than KCs scrub filled team. They aren't terrible, just pretty average. Such a weird fan base this is

The franchise is just an older one. We have waited in between WS appearances but not like the Royals in the same time frame that both teams have existed.

1934-1942 8 years
1946-1964 18 years

Not really a rivalry. Cubs are the Cards rival, not the Royals.

I don't know that the Royals really have a rivalry with anyone? At one time, back in the 70's and 80's, it was the Yankees. Now? meh. Maybe the White Sox if you HAD to pick someone, but not really. I couldn't even tell you half the players on their roster and they're in our division.

Oh, and for the record, we suck worse.

Oh, and for the record, we suck worse.

I'd say we're a secondary rival - lacking much of the nastiness and history of the Cubs-Cards rivalry.

I say this from the response my trolling of Denkinger would get on Cards forums in the days of yore. The Royals would be in the midst of a 90 loss season and 85 still riled up some emotion.

I will say had we met in the World Series in 2014, I think that would have cemented our franchises in a legit rivalry - that would have been a fun one, too (BTW **** Madison Bumgarner lik dis if u cry evrytiem).

You don't know squat about watching shitty baseball.

Yeah, the Cardinals have had some periods of spotty, mediocre baseball to be sure.

But I don't think there's a franchise in baseball HISTORY that can hang with the Royals over that 15 year span starting around 1999. Worse still, while we don't know exactly what the future holds, but we can all pretty safely state that the next 3 years are going to provide a lot of shitty baseball in KC. Their high minors are just barren. So from about 1997 through 2021 they're going to have a 25 year stretch where they'll average 90 losses in all likelihood. Or get damn close.

Worse still, they'll have a 5 year period in there of damn good ball. Which means that for the other 20 years they'll probably average near 95 losses.

Don't try to get in a suck-contest with the Royals. Nobody sucks like they sucked. Even when the Cardinals are 'bad' their problem isn't that they're bad, it's that they're boring and mediocre. The last 2 years have been case studies in winning half your games while not being even the slightest bit entertaining to watch. That's not bad - that's bland. I'd say the 2012 and 2016 Royals were worse than the 16 and 17 Cardinals but played a far more entertaining brand of baseball.

The Cardinals haven't sucked; they've just been pretty forgettable of late. That's still more than enough to beat bad teams. Over the course of their 6 games, the Cardinals should be pissed if they don't win 4 and frankly they should be a little disappointed if they don't win 5. Wednesday should be the only game where they give the Royals even the slightest inkling of life and even then they should come out on top. That's a bad baseball team.
