Shaquem Griffin. Would U draft him?
Play GM. Would you draft him after seeing his performance at combine? If so what round do you think he goes in?
Read a good article on him about the chip on his shoulder and living in the football facility at UCF on an air mattress. I had heard about him early last season but never watched UCF play till their bowl game. Then he was chasing down RBs and sacking the QB, it wasn’t till over halfway thru the game that I realized he only had one hand. Article I read said he was suited for a 3-4 defense and needed to put on some weight. And was better suited for zone as opposed to man to man. And would probably have to move from outside to inside LB |
Absolutely
I'd find a spot for him somewhere. |
Raw talent
/CP |
Yes
|
Yep. That dude is amazing.
|
Yes. this defense needs speed and he would fit somewhere either at ILB or that hybrid nickel safety/LB.
|
Maybe
|
Not familiar with him but if he doesn't need a helping hand I'm good.
|
What round do you think he goes? Article said 5-6th round. I can’t believe we had to send the Rams a 6th to take Peters. Good grief.... but I don’t think Griffin will be there in the 6th. I think he’d make a good compliment to Ragland. Surely he’s better than Zombo on the outside
|
Maybe the 4th?
|
Dude is a combine riser. He will go by the 3rd if not earlier.
|
He looked really good in their bowl game. Instinctive player always around the ball. NFL will be huge step up in opponent size and speed for him so who knows if he could be a liability at times, but I think he will make it. He seemed undersized against LSU but just kept making plays. I dont know the grade they have on him, but a day 2 pick?

I’d conder him as early as our second 3rd, but I’d probably prefer to take him in the 4th.
|
It depends. I need to know how he feels about national anthems and such.
|
Bring him in for a hook.
|
I just don't know. This one stumps me.
|
single-handedly won this combine! Hand up!
|
Yes, I’d take him in the 4th, if he’s there

How about Maurice Hurst DT and his heart condition?
or Troy Fumagalii TE missing an index finger? |
He ran a faster 40 than Saquon Barkley

Not trying to be a dick—can he intercept passes?
If not, I don’t know... |

I’d say he can play. |

Kid is a baller. I would take him in the late second. Way more developed than Tanoh, and actually played against decent competition in college.
|
Of course I would. Sounds like he's a pussy gettin, big dicked, QB killin, WR smashin, stud of a football player.
|
He and Jason Pierre Paul can get together and buy gloves.
But seriously, dude can play. |

I watched him play earlier this season and noticed he was out there crushing folks. Always around the ball. I wondered why they were focusing on him so much, and they showed his hand after a few plays and I would have never known he had any impairment by just watching him.
|
He's not playing DE, and he runs like a CB. He should have a first round grade, and if he's there in the second, the Chiefs should sprint up to the podium to take him.

But so much of defensive play is hand usage it’s gonna play a part in the eval |

1:00 mark and the 2:00 marks are his interceptions. |
JPP basically plays with one hand just fine.

He's definitely mastered his ability. I would love to have him and I wouldn't see a downside.

Thanks for the vid! That INT in coverage was great. What I’m most impressed with is his tackling. He wraps up every single one of them! It’s not trying to knock guys over with his shoulder pads. Maybe he can teach our guys how to tackle!
|
Not with a high pick. The NFL isn't college and there is a question as to whether he'll be able to shed and wrap with one hand. If he was around in the 5th he'd be worth a shot. Just mho.

I think he’s be great in the hybrid ILB safety role |
Take him in the 3rd. He'd be the perfect hybrid dime linebacker.

Did you see his letter to NFL personnel departments? Its like Mahomes was last year. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/sh...eral-managers/ |

We need speed on this defense and players with great instincts. He has all of that with a ton of talent. |
Hell yes.
|
He would probably be a handy addition to the defense.

If there are two 3rds, I'd spend one on him. He plays a position we need to fill and his determination, talent, and drive are fairly unquestionable.
He's definitely got the "Chiefs player"-vibe. |

Different question to ask:
If he had two hands where do you think he'd be drafted based of measurables and game tape? |
Probably first round

He reminds me of Eric Kendricks, but faster. Very similar players IMO

Yeah draft him I like his drive.

Just put him on the all hands team
|
|
Where would you play him? ILB/OLB/S...sounds like he can do all three?
|
would he be called for holding or facemasks half as much?
i joke, what five minutes i have watched of him on youtube is far greater than the highlight reel of demetrius harris to this point :D |
His twin brother is a CB, is just as fast, has two hands, and was drafted by Seattle last year in the 3rd round

Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin faceoff in 40 yard dash
Really need to be able to embed on phone https://youtu.be/kEWPQEYrkFA |
His brother was highly recruited for big schools and he wouldn’t play for anyone unless they brought on his brother. Just an amazing story all around.
Someone joked would he get called for holding. In the highlight video some of his tackles are borderline horse collar. |

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport spoke with one NFL coach who believes UCF LB Shaquem Griffin is now a fourth-round pick.
We love to hear this, and the fourth-round might be a safe projection. The conversation has shifted a bit from Griffin being a core special teams player to now potential off-ball linebacker. We have always thought he was the latter thanks to his closing speed and relentless motor. |
I would not consider him. Wouldn’t be able to trip guys up with his missing hand if he needed to resort to that.
