Three Stooges Fans?
Any Stooges fans out there?
https://i.imgur.com/dyJiTLJ.jpg My old man was a huge fan. He watched those old movies countless times. He pretty much had them memorized, and I always got a kick when in real life something would happen that I knew reminded him of a Stooges joke. I'm a fan myself, and I've been re watching quite a few of their 190 short films lately. I think my top two are Brideless Groom (1947) and Disorder in the Court (1936) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/f9VZGsu_Hls" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sZeqHamjyjU" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> Other favorites: Loose Loot (1953) An Ache in Every Stake (1941) A Plumbing We Will Go (1940) Fright Night (1947) Horses' Collars (1935) Booty and the Beast (1953) Gents in a Jam (1952) Three Hams on Rye (1950) Tricky Dicks (1953) A Snitch in Time (1950) Malice in the Palace (1949) Playing the Ponies (1937) |
Just Clay, Billay, and Sweets and rules say we can't post their pictures . Monitor breakage...

Cash and Carry.
Niagara Falls Disorder in the Court Whatever the episode is that they do construction upstairs in a pharmacy. The episode where they have a massive fight at an art gallery is CLASSIC. |

Nice sig. I am a man who can appreciate a nice Bob Ross mashup. I made this a few years ago: https://i.imgur.com/kmMQtS8.jpg |
I know a lot about them. Moe was actually a very sweet guy and lived the longest.

Niagara Falls? Do you mean the classic vaudeville "slowly I turned" routine? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VuBtURtFNX8" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> The Art Gallery - is that the one with the painting of Napoleon? If so it's called "Loose Loot." |

Grips, Grunts and Groans is probably my favorite.
Highly recommend if you haven't watched it http://threestoogespictures.info/wp-...ly-bustoff.png |
Grew up watching them. They were great.

The best thing about it was the inside jokes for adults. Bugs Bunny had a lot of the same kind of stuff. The writers would slide sly jokes by the censors that kids wouldn't get. For example. In the 3 Stooges, the boys are applying to be chefs at a fancy estate. The Butler is interviewing them for the job. Butler to Moe: "How are you with stews?" Curley: "Eh, he's usually half stewed!"

Rocky and Bullwinkle - how many kids cartoons can pull off deadpan jokes about the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám? Only one.
It's been years since I watched it, but I really loved the Banana Formula episodes. Edited to add: I can't think of any kids shows that slipped more past the censors than the 90s Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko's Modern Life. Just constant masturbation references. A lot of the stuff was cut out when it was released on dvd. |

Where my ‘Shemp’ fans at?

https://i.imgur.com/oFWzQDR.jpg The thinking man's stooge. I think he gets a bad rap. I think it's important to consider that by the time Shemp rejoined the Stooges, the budgets had been cut quite a bit from the early days. They were always done on the cheap, but in the early days you at least had out door scenes. There was a lot more reliance on reused scripts and footage, too. The overall quality of the shorts had diminished which makes Shemp's performances all the more impressive to me. Especially considering that he was in his 50s when he rejoined. It can't be easy doing pratfalls at that age. p.s. the real question is, are there any Joe Besser fans out there? I have my doubts. |
