Beuerlein: The Chiefs Could Turn To Mahomes In The Playoffs
|
Won’t happen
|
Not buying it
|
Lolz
|
That's the worst clickbait ever. I'm going to neg rep Steve Beuerlein.
|
Yeah... not gonna happen.
|
CTE is a devastating disease.
|
BS :)
|
Pat's chances of starting the playoff game (barring injury to Alex, of course), are significantly less than Beuerlein's chances of getting into the HOF.
|
Stupid idea. That would be insane and won't happen.
|
Fake news

Dumbest damn thing I've read in a long time. It amazes me that man gets paid to say stupid shit like that.
|
sigh. I hate sports writers
|
Say you're down 21-6 in the third quarter. Alex is 10-20 for 80 yards.
Why not? |
He is basically saying that IF:
Mahomes lights it up in Denver AND Alex is having a terrible playoff game, they MAY make an in game switch to Mahomes. It's not really THAT unreasonable.... but it's not really worth mentioning either. If Alex is playing like a ****ing pussy in the playoffs, you bet your ass everyone is going to be yelling at Andy Reid through the TV for him to bench his ass. |

I know I shouldn't but genuinely ROFL at this |

|
Smith would have to go out and throw no less than 5 picks before Reid would even consider benching him.
|
The article isn't stating that Pat could start the playoff game. It's stating that Reid could turn to Mahomes mid-game depending on Pats performance this week, and Alex's performance in the playoff game.
Still, it's a longshot. Pat would have to completely light it up this week, and Alex would have to lay a complete dud in the first half of the playoff game. I'm talking three or four INTs in the first half. |
Sports media is no different than political media, anything for a headline and click, its all that matters.

this is the dumbest ****ing click bait I've ever seen. JFC
|
Alex would have to be caught banging Andy's wife at halftime... and even then...

NEVER happen. When I mean never, I mean never.
|
I'm as big of an Alex Smith hater as anyone, but this is dumb. Let him finish the season out.
|
Rofl
Let's not get carried away here... I mean MAYBE if the stars lined up and we were losing ...and smith was having literally the worst game of the season... And even still I think you really do that as literally a desperate, crazy , last resort...knowing you're not going to win anyway most likely |
Quote:
Insanely stupid article and interview. How do you make an assessment on a QB in a throwaway game that can justify supplanting Smith who is playing his best season? |
Quote:
|
Clowm crew level dumb
|
I don't know... never say never... I could see some nutcase from here going full Tonya Harding on Alex.
|
Idiot.
Not going to happen. Andy isn't pushing all of his chips in with a small pair when he has 40 big blinds left. He is under zero pressure, zip, none. But if he put Mahomes in the playoff game, he would be triggering that pressure. |
I don't think there's any precedent for that in the history of the NFL. In that situation, the safe play is just to let Alex Smith go down in flames and have all the reasons to start Mahomes in training camp next year.
If Reid put Mahomes in and the Ravens chewed him up, Reid would be slaughtered. No way he puts him in for his first meaningful action in a playoff game against a top 5 defense. |

Even if Mahomes goes out and balls for a line of 30-35, 400, 5TDs against Denver he will not see any time unless Smith is injured. Regardless of the score in the playoff game, Mahomes isn't playing.
|
**** yeah they should.
Get that guy some playoff experience. This team isn't beating NE or PIT in their yard. (realistically that would never happen) BUT...we'd all love it, admit it. |
Kelce and Hill's numbers are going to increase next year, as good of seasons both of them are having, Mahomes is going to look at Kelce 30x a game. No reason why he shouldn't.
No more of this 1-2yd dink n dunk shit. |
Zero chance this happens unless Alex gets hurt
|

Let's say Mahomes has a great day and just lights up the Denver D. Our first or any playoff game AS is just stinking it up to high heaven and it is clear he ain't got it that day PERIOD. And we are behind anywhere from 17-21 pts by halftime or early 3rd quarter. If you are the coach knowing AS isn't coming back next year do you make that QB change to MyHomie 2 to spark the O? |
Unless Mahomes raises Lamar Hunt from the grave, he's not starting or playing in another game this year, barring injury.

Best case scenario:
We get a Bledsoe. Season ends for Smith and his lilly-assed "fans", **** the "trade value"( he's not worth shit anyway, despite what some here keep thinking and posting ). Mahomes steps in, and the rest is history. Yeah, I DID say **** that guy and his career. What the **** of it? http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/attac...1&d=1514522650 |
click bait

the narrative about KC's chances in the playoffs changes the minute Smiff is gone and PMII takes over. |
Quote:
It goes from "well, maybe it'll be different this time" to "who KNOWS what could happen with THIS guy." |
It would be the most exciting thing to happen to Chiefs football since Lenny The Cool marched in to NYC and whipped Joe Namath's ass.
|
Not gonna happen. Buuuut wouldn't mind seeing the kid throw for 5 TDs so that we have all the confidence in the world in him should Alex go down in the Playoffs.
|
|
At the beginning of the day, I had no desire to punch Steve Beuerlein.
I now want to punch Steve Beuerlein. |

Again, if you are the coach and AS is clearly the problem and we are down significantly but not out of it, do you make the change knowing AS ain't coming back next year assuming PM2 exhibits that he can handle the NFL game against Denver ?
I do in a heartbeat !!:thumb: |
Denver still has a good defense.
If Mahomes can go on the road, play well with backups against a good defense that will speak volumes. |
It's amazing how many Chief fans are actively rooting for their teams starting QB to play horribly in the playoffs.

I think Alex balls out in the playoffs. This is his opportunity to show the NFL what he can do & basically it's the ultimate "**** it" moment. |

Never happen unless they absolutely have to, IE, Smith goes down.
