Proud of my daughter
Her post
Not only is this a step to censorship, this is a racist and classist move. Videos revealing brutality will not be seen. People from lower incomes will not be able to educate themselves. I also wanted to stop myself from saying this, but given what just happened, this is not the time to have a filter: I am astonished at some of the comments I have read. Some people don’t even know what was happening today. You are exactly what they want us to be. |
Gonna need some context, buddy.

Comcast was blocking Skype in some areas before net neutrality. Making you pay for their VOIP service. Going to see more and more of that. The only good thing is they know the wind could change suddenly so they may not put too much effort in it.. we'll see. |
Pai is from Parsons, KS......

I don’t stream porn. Just look at the posted pictures on CP. no way we can stream with any effectiveness where I live.
|
Those who stream extensively or game extensively should pay more than the 70 year old using it to shop, look at facebook and read their email. Maybe you should tell your daughter that this could be about a lot of things, but calling it racist continues the "cry Wolf" mentality that draws away from things that are actually racist.
|
Your daughter sounds passionate. She's not the only one who's over-reacting today.
|
I deviated from my OP.
My daughter works for huge insurance company and the top position at the 25 story site she worked at opened up. They were almost ambigous with their requirements seemed to be more intrested in philosophy than bulletts so I said apply. She told me I was crazy but I convinced her too. She didnt even get an interview but did get a promotion shortly afterwards and now my little girl gets treated like a big shot. They rent her brand new vehicles when she goes to another office 90 miles away. The sad thing is she doesnt need me anymore because shes adapt at tech issues and doesnt need dad to fix puter. |

Is this a United Nations move? Didn't Obama hand over the keys to the internet to the UN before he left? A New World Order move?
|
Wait, so what, in particular, are you proud of (aside from normal father pride)?
I'm proud of my son for figuring out how to build his duplo bat cave. |

I'm proud of my daughter who says she thinks the GOP tax cuts will be a real boost to growth if they pass. I was thinking about starting a thread about how proud it makes me.

How will this effect me playing online poker? I don't quite understand the whole concept. Is it only streaming from certain sites? I don't understand how an ISP can charge you more for accessing certain sites?

Without government regulated net neutrality a corporation could decide to block your online poker or make you pay extra. Of course you can always go to another corporation. Governments make it a lot harder for you to leave. |

When and if this happens, people are going to LOSE THEIR SHIT. It won't last. You don't **** with people's internet and expect them to be cool with it. |

Most people talking about this subject didn't know the rules before, didnt read the ruling, and really dont know a ****ing thing. Hell at least now these companies can be trust-busted (not saying they will, but at least its an option now) If you are mad right now, I will introduce you to chicken little, yall might get along. |

So is that how things were before 2015?
How is it racist? |
The government should stay out of peoples lives as much as possible
What has gotten better once the govt took it over? |

Who do you think putting a $10,000 limit on SALT deductions is going to impact the most? How are poor people getting screwed in the tax plan? |

Did we ever find out if this supposed daughter is hot? I think we have a right to know before the morons send this to DC.

Even in the U.S., there have been some major violations by small and large ISPs. These include: The largest ISP, Comcast, secretly interfering with peer-to-peer technologies, including some of the most popular basic technologies used to distribute online TV and music (2005-2008); A small telephone ISP called Madison River blocking Vonage, a company providing competing telephone service online (2005); Apple blocking Skype on the iPhone, subject to a secret contract with AT&T, a company that competes with Skype in providing telephone service (2008-2009); Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile blocking the functionality of Google Wallet on Nexus devices, while all three of those ISPs are part of a competing mobile payments joint venture called Isis (late 2011- +today); and Comcast's disputes with Level 3 and Netflix over termination fees, and the appearance that Comcast is deliberately congesting its network connections to force Netflix to pay Comcast for an acceptable connection (2010- +today). |
