And yes he had a clean pocket on the second one.

When has this happened before...against the Steelers...in a crucial game.... :hmmm:

Flame away.

petegz28 10-15-2017 05:19 PM

Was his first bad game of the season....gonna happen

Bugeater 10-15-2017 05:19 PM

MVP LOL....

Molitoth 10-15-2017 05:21 PM

Every player on this team can eat a dick today. But Alex Smith can feast on 3 of them.

tredadda 10-15-2017 05:21 PM

While he has had a great season so far it’s hard to say he is not a major reason why we lost today.

dj56dt58 10-15-2017 05:21 PM

these pricks talked all week about how they wanted revenge against pittsburgh, then come out and play even worse than the playoff game..**** this team

KC_Lee 10-15-2017 05:22 PM

Alex went back to old Alex today.

mnchiefsguy 10-15-2017 05:22 PM

Whole team was bad today, except for special teams.

Coaching was atrocious....but yeah, if Alex just hits one of those the Chiefs still win.

He did not hit any of them today.

Sannyasi 10-15-2017 05:22 PM

He also made some great plays and the line was dogshit for most of the game. I'm more pissed that the offense got only 6 or so yards in the entire first half.

jaa1025 10-15-2017 05:22 PM

Alex was awful today. Missed open receivers. Missed an open receiver for 1st down on the last drive. Just terrible. This was the reason the Chiefs drafted Mahomes.

GayFrogs 10-15-2017 05:22 PM

Gaines lost the game...Alex single handedly got them back in the game. He was bad for most of it, but give him a little credit for getting back in it.

Alex is who he is. Will keep games close and use his legs but he just isn't accurate downfield.

RunKC 10-15-2017 05:24 PM

Why are you not including the miss to Robinson at the end? That gets us to the 15 with just under a minute left

Rasputin 10-15-2017 05:24 PM

I think Patrick Mahomes II would have done just fine out there today and maybe win this one with better ball placements.

He wasn't good today, but that really wasn't old Alex either. He didn't check down every time, he took plenty of shots downfield and overthrew almost every one of them.

petegz28 10-15-2017 05:25 PM

Gonna say
the Harris non-challenge on the TD hurt....
the Gaines missed INT hurt...
the overthrow on 2nd down to Drob hurt...

injuries i think also played a part in today....play calling was weak

Shaid 10-15-2017 05:25 PM

oh **** off, the whole team sucked today

Trent Green GOAT 10-15-2017 05:27 PM

Butker
Chesson on ST
Kareem Hunt
Mitch Schwartz was brilliant today
DAT had the big play and didn't do stupid shit on ST

And there are numerous others.

The team was flat and poorly coached, and when we needed Alex to not be his usual self, he wasn't.

I'm not blaming Alex, but I'm also getting really sick and tired of people quibbling about what percentage of the loss is or is not on Alex.

He ****ed up significantly. Reid ****ed up more, but Alex did **** up a good number of times when we needed him to not **** up.

The Defense held Pitt to 19 points

DaneMcCloud 10-15-2017 05:28 PM

Bad games happen, especially to a team that’s lost three starters to IR and two starting offensive lineman for the past few weeks.

They’ll get healthy soon and this team wasn’t going undefeated, anyway.

We lost today - it happens - we win Thursday and everyone is singing how great we are.

jjchieffan 10-15-2017 05:29 PM

Alex was bad. No doubt. Several overthrown passes. However, the line was horrible as well. Hunt couldn't get going all day and Smith was running for his life all day. He was missing both of his guys on 3rd down and you could tell it. Defense was bad as well. Bell had close to 200 yards today. That is unexceptable. Big Ben was open all day. Sutton was sending Houston in coverage..... again. And let's not forget about that lucky pass for the TD at the end. For crying out loud. How does that shit KEEP happening??? Lots of blame to go around. And Smith gets the biggest share. But let's not put it all on him.

Eric Murray made a hell of a play on third down to give the ball back to the offense so we could go win the damn thing.

jerryforeverrice80 10-15-2017 05:30 PM

i seen a bad run D today and offense who just couldn't get out of their own way for most of the game.

i still take a 5-1 team to an 0-6 team any day of the the week and twice on sunday.

Yeah, take the easy three and all they would have needed on the final drive was 3.

Pathetic decision by Reid.

KC_Connection 10-15-2017 05:31 PM

Most inexcusable throw was the one on the last drive. They probably win from that position.

In the end, it doesn't really matter how good Alex is against the rest of the league if he can't beat Pittsburgh or New England in the playoffs again.

Robinson could have won this game by himself if..........

Ming the Merciless 10-15-2017 05:34 PM

offense scored what , 11 net points...(edit: 8 if you subtract the FG they didnt earn)

we had like one good drive

all the usuals were chanting 'mvp' with this shitty performance

yet the defense holds the steelers to 10 in the 1st half despite zero 1st downs by the offense , holds them to a shutout most of the second half and only allows 17 the whole game and somehow this game is on the defense

come on man

I wouldn't call it over reaction. It shows why we shouldn't trust Alex Smith going into the playoffs and keep our expectations in check.

Bowser 10-15-2017 05:36 PM

These main things lost us the game...

- run defense
- Andy not taking the field goal
- Gaines not making that interception
- Alex missing Robinson wide open in the end zone

If we take any one of those out, we likely win the game.

Fans in the stands had tighter coverage on Robinson than Pittsburgh did on that play.

This is the truth. He did miss two huge TD's. And those are hard to think about in a close game.

Defense and injuries lost the game today. OL is in nad shape and the defnse cant stop the run at all.

Gaines blew it as well along with the pass rush. They did jack shit and one of them got paid massive bucks to kick ass and he got his ass kicked all day.

Hell yeah.

All the gnashing of the teeth about a lack of weapons all these years is bullshit. These guys are talented and damn near anyone can be schemed open.

You don't need to have All-Pros at every skill position- you only need one or two plus another who's good-to-very good.

We'll be fine with D Rob and Chesson out there if Alex finds them open and hits them with accurate passes.

Eh, that one gets the least to me. He was running around and literally got smashed less than a half second after he let the ball go. The earlier miss to Robinson where he didn't throw the ball is worse imo.
