Chiefs open up 4.5 point favorites against the Eagles

1) Line opened at -4.5 for the Chiefs

2) It has since moved to -5 on a couple sites, so you might wanna try to grab a -4.5 while its hot

3) O/U opened at 47.5

I think I am going to take the -4.5 for sure......hmmm.

What say you, Chiefsplanet?

ptlyon 09-11-2017 01:41 PM

Typical letdown game.

Chiefnj2 09-11-2017 01:42 PM

Rams 2 1/2 point favorite over the Skins surprised me the most.

My friend is a very knowledgeable fan from Dallas. He swears Philly is the best team in the NFC. And he hates Philly. Certainly gave me pause, since he's way more in tune to them, as I would be more in tune with Denver or Oakland.

I figured the undisputed best team of 2017 would open up a greater home favorite with a 2nd year QB making his first visit...

Lane Johnson off the PEDs looks bad, and Houston looks really good.

Jason Peters has a groin injury, their running game looks a little meh. Good WRs and TEs.

Defensively they have a good front 7 but bad secondary

Same could be said about a team that won the SB a couple of years ago against the bottom garbage can scum of the division

Going through the Playoff Predictor app, I kept thinking San Diego would be the most obvious "letdown" game of the first quarter of the season. Philly would take that billet had it been following a typical week 1 Sunday game.

Pueblo Chieftan 09-11-2017 02:12 PM

21-17. Get it done KC !

Tried to Youtube a link, but couldn't get it to stick. Listen: The Electric Company opening credits season 6.

Why Not? 09-11-2017 02:14 PM

An Eagles fan buddy of mine and I bet on this game a month ago. After discussions and looking at rosters we set the line at....you guessed it.....Chiefs -4.5. Wish I could predict the actual outcomes like that. As for the game, I feel surprisingly confident the Chiefs win this game going away. The Eagles look pretty good but the Redskins are trash and that 30 points is 23 if the refs don't blow an easy call. They have no running game and a shit o-line. 27-13 good guys.

Makes me nervous we are favored against a tough team on opening day. That has not worked out so good in the past.

It is probably just the memories of other Opening Day Chiefs blowout losses I sat through out there- but this game worries me.

Yeah, but what is Reid's record after a mini-bye week following the dismantling of the prior year's champs... going into a home opener versus his former team with a 2nd year, first time visiting QB?

My word.. how can that stat be tracked? I know it's out there though... :D

Despite our incredible win at NE there is a ton we don't know about our team yet. Is Alex mind set for real? Can the OL really road grade DLs for Hunt on a regular basis? Can we cover a TE without Berry?

I think we are in good shape.

ROFL

I am sure all of that is figured into that point spread. But with all that said- the Chiefs seem to struggle on Home Openers while the Donks always come out ready to roll.

This is a trap game if there ever was one.

Honestly, I think last week was the worst thing Alex could have done... he just took the bar and said "phhhtt, to hell with this, raise it up two levels". Now, anything close to what was acceptable 10 days ago is no longer accepatable.

I think the emotional QB roller coaster has just begun and y'all are in for one hell of a ride. Buckle up. Not saying they'll lose, they'll probably win, but damn the Alex love right now is crazy high and it's going to evaporate quick.

We needed everything Alex had to take NE down a notch in their house. We won't need that much effort the rest of the season. Especially when we play Denver.:D

Totally agree, we lost Wade, Ware, Obi-Wan, Ray, Plummer, Stokley... just can't recover.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-11-2017 03:59 PM

When I think about this game I always come back to one general question... how are they going to defend our offensive weapons, and how are they going to do it well? They aren't, probably.

Chiefs win somewhere around 31-19.

Alex doesn't have to go 28/35, 368 yards, 4 TD, every week to make fans happy

Nor will Hunt have to tally 246 yards every game to prove himself

Bwana 09-11-2017 05:51 PM

What's EDP say about this weeks game?

Nickhead 09-11-2017 10:30 PM

i want to know how much doug knows about the current playbook? ;)

i stated today, that philly could give the cowboys a run for their money.

i see the nfc east not having a division leader over 11 wins.

green bay if their defense improves, will supplant either dallas or philly, or both :D

Pueblo Chieftan 09-11-2017 10:36 PM

I don't see Green Bay doing it this year because the defense aint gonna show up. Also, they lack depth and it will cripple them.

“I think you have to be able to handle defeat, as well as victory, the right way, and I think each can deter you because you put a lot of emotion into it,” Smith said. “You certainly get this victory, but you can’t forget that it’s 1-of-16, right? You’ve got to keep that same mentality week in and week out – the attention-to-detail mentality.

“Just because you do it one night, doesn’t mean it will just carry over. You have to find a way to beat the next opponent and the unique challenge they present.”

It’s easy to see why Smith is one of the unquestioned leaders of this team.

ROFL..yeah being the #1 rated QB against the 14-2 SB champs, in their stadium, was not a smart move.

He should have done a Semenboy impersonation and only scored 3 points...like the Donkos did last season against the Pats. Smith is an idiot...beating a team that will sweep the rest of the division.

If you ever decide to quit your current job...you have a bright future as a strategist.

Pueblo Chieftan 09-12-2017 01:05 AM

That Patriot team is barely better than the team fielded this year. In fact, they're probably worse than the team we saw Sunday. No matter. The Eagles are bringing the heat so off your ass and on your feet..

I wouldnt give up the points just yet - season is too young. The NFL can change weekly. One week a team can be on TOP OF THE WORLD, and the next on the bottom.

The Mile High Mule Tool cant help himself - its what he does. It would have been AWESOME in his world if T-Jizz and the Donx would / could have done that to the Pats. But he knows they cant so here he is with this.... ROFL
