Wow that is very cool that must of been something being there!

Chiefspants 03-02-2017 01:17 PM

I was in my parents' living room. I was also 15. Will never forget how exhilarated and shocked I felt when Mario drilled the three.

Nice!!! That would have been a great one to see.

I was in Anaheim CA for work watching it in the bar at the Marriott. That was such a crazy game. I was wearing a KS shirt and people were congratulating me after they won.

I remember thinking, I didn't do anything why are you congratulating me. :D

Mr. Plow 03-02-2017 01:46 PM

Great video....great game.

Prison Bitch 03-02-2017 01:57 PM

Oh, I'd given up, no doubt. When we were down 9 with two to go, I knew it was over. Then....and then....and another then.....we inbounded the ball with 10 seconds needing that three.

Nickhead 03-02-2017 03:04 PM

isn't memphis the only college team to not win a single game and still play for the championship? :D

im just glad the jayhawks won that game. would hate to have 'backed' into a championship.

chalmers for president :D

noa 03-02-2017 03:56 PM

I had forgotten how solid Arthur was that game. I was at a huge KU bar in NYC, and when Chalmers hit that shot, it was like a massive group orgasm. I thought that was going to be the peak for me, until the Royals won that 2014 WC game and kept going from there.

KU is the anti-chiefs.

Jerok 03-02-2017 05:16 PM

Not a college basketball fan, but i watched it anyway. Wow, KU fans must've collectively used their 'one time'.

PHOG 03-02-2017 05:28 PM

Howwwww sweet it was! :toast: Great video!

T-post Tom 03-02-2017 05:45 PM

Watching some of these old games college basketball has really turned to shit the last decade or so.

Reerun_KC 03-03-2017 07:43 AM

What a night that was. Shared that night with my daughter and son. We danced around the house cheering. Memories. Thanks

notorious 03-03-2017 08:14 AM

I still remember Memphis players laughing it up when they missed free throws in the final 2 minutes.

****ing morons. LMAO

arrowheadnation 03-03-2017 08:42 AM

This night, along with game 5 of the 2015 World Series are two of the greatest nights of my life. I didn't even get to see Mario's shot live. I had a blanket over my head and I was pouting like a little bitch.

The Jayhawks would not have backed into the game. If Memphis had won, it would just be listed as no winner that year. They would not automatically award it to the runner up.

Loved Arthur and he was big in that game. Still, he also got pushed around a lot by Memphis' bigs.

Amazing how many guys from that game are in the NBA now. Kaun, Chalmers, Arthur, Rush, Aldrich, and I believe 4 guys from Memphis.

Lzen 03-03-2017 08:59 AM

Allen Fieldhouse would have been an amazing place to be at that time of Mario's shot.

Bowser 03-03-2017 09:10 AM

I was at work when this game was on. There was a healthy split of KU/Mizzou fans at that time, and even the Mizzou fans couldn't look away the final three minutes. The place erupted when Chalmers hit that three to send it to OT.

bdj23 03-03-2017 09:36 AM

That was almost 9 years ago. :(

I remember being sick for weeks after that because I walked home in shorts and a t shirt, while it was pouring rain at 2 am in 40° weather.

Thankfully i only lived on 9th and Michigan.

Glad you enjoyed it. That was a crazy night that ended off amazing!

Bearcat 03-03-2017 09:25 PM

Forgot they had that chance with 20 seconds to go... just think if they made that basket to tie, it completely changes the end of the game, quite possibly for the worse.

And I'm pretty sure if those highlights were from a game today, there would be about 50 fouls called.

The real MVP is the cameraperson for somehow not losing his/her **** when Mario drilled that shot.

chief4life 03-05-2017 11:01 AM

Does anyone know of a team who can comeback like the 2008 Championship team did? Oh, wait.....

TLO 03-05-2017 12:25 PM

I could watch that shot by Chalmers on aloop for the rest of my life and die a happy man.

There are a lot of moments from that season I could loop.

Jamming up Steph Curry at the end of the Davidson game.

****ing abusing UCLA and Russel Westbrook. Was Kevin Love on that team too or was that 07? Abusing those fools after the fisting the refs gave us in 07 was amaze balls.

Aldrich absolutely fisting Handsjob and Handsjob not knowing what the **** to do about it.

That sick ass spin move Arthur would lay down on fools.

Rush doing basketball things. Doesn't matter what. He was as smooth as anyone up until Jackson.

Russ Robs 12 year old kid smile when they'd do something incredible.

Goddamn that team was good.

Lol, don't sweat it, man. I would have loved that but I couldn't think of when that happened. So now I'm trying to figure out when we did play them after the 2007 NCAA EE game.

Maybe I watched Memphis beat them and took pleasure in the loss.
