Anyone else a little worried?

Tommorrow we have a big game against Atlanta. Winning this game would definitely help punch our ticket to the show, and set us up nicely for a showdown with the Raiders. However, thats my concern... We are going to be playing a brutal game I am assuming with the Falcons, and then 3 days later be playing vs the Raiders. Sure we are at home, but we have been on the road ALOT, and are coming off a big, exhausting 5 quarter win vs the broncos last week. We have traveled, traveled and traveled some more these past few weeks.

Raiders are coming off 3 home games, and will have time after Sunday's game at home to rest up and then make the final trip out to us, while we will still be gearing up to leave Atlanta and settling back into our home.... Sure our game is in KC, but it almost feels like the NFL really fucked us on this mini 4-5 day stretch of 2 games.

Simply Red 12-03-2016 04:51 PM

Maclin out.

notorious 12-03-2016 04:53 PM

Don't get your hopes up.

Atlanta at home. Chiefs are coming off an overtime game on the road.

Atlanta is pretty good, too.

DaFace 12-03-2016 04:53 PM

Your point about the timing doesn't make a lot of sense. The Raiders won't have any more time at home between games than the Chiefs since they have to travel to KC.

As for the rest, I'm guessing we lose to Atlanta and beat the Raiders, but if we lose both, we're still in a pretty good spot to at least make the playoffs.

They're the tale of two teams bud, much like KC.

Sandy Vagina 12-03-2016 04:57 PM

Time to put their big boy pants on, or wear the skirt.

No.. I'm not worried. The world will keep on a spinning, and wfb either way.

Will be fun to see how it goes. KC has a real shot here to get hot as they head towards the finish line. The injuries are discouraging, but it's not too late.. not even if they drop this Falcons game.

Then again, I'm not one to believe KC must have HFA to win it all. So...

My bad I thought I made it clear in my original post. What im talking about is how Oakland has had 3 straight home games, and we are on our 2nd straight road game in a week, 3 out of our last 4 games have been on the road... Yes, Oakland and us have the same time to rest up between our games, but Oakland will finish there game at home, rest at home, then make the flight out, where we will be ending our game, flying home, settling in, and prepping up. Im just saying id rather have oaklands scenario.

Beat Oakland and Denver, go at least 5-1 in the division (with a good chance at 6-0) and the rest will take care of itself.

Losing to Atlanta isn't a huge deal at all, but it would be nice to have this win just in case we do drop one to Oakland or Denver at Arrowhead.

I think we're likely looking at an L this week.

Do you think Reid and Smith are going to play to win this game? Or do you think Reid is going to conserve players and whatever else for the Raider game on thursday, and that Sunday's game vs falcons will be a, play a regular game and hope for a win type deal?

Barring playing his backups like he did against San Diego in 2013, I think it's pretty clear that Reid "plays to win" (whatever that may mean) every game.

Just because a team has a down game doesn't mean they just didn't give a shit about winning that week.

I am not worried at all.

What I am is someone who has no idea at all about what is going to happen tomorrow.
Just about every game this season has been a roller coaster ride ranging from visions of a super bowl appearance all the way down to the gut punch of 6O yrds or so of the sideways/drop it if you can passing offense in an entire half. There's only been a couple times this year that at half time I felt like they were the better team and should win. But somehow, at the end of the game they have more points than the other team.
I won't be surprised at all if the Falcons win tomorrow, then again I won't be surprised if the Chiefs win.

Yep. Pretty hard to win back to back road games. Especially coming off a big emotional win. But if the Chiefs can keep it close, I like our chances.

From the Atlanta Journal Constitution...

Pioli has inside information on Chiefs

Quote:

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Falcons (7-4), who are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs (8-3) at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Georgia Dome, have some inside information on the opponent.
Falcons assistant general manager Scott Pioli was Kansas City’s general manager from 2009 to 2012 and Falcons coach Dan Quinn has consulted with him.

Some of Pioli’s picks have helped turn around the franchise after his departure.

“Certainly some of the guys we talked about with Scott and has background on them and knows them,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “Some of the ones that he selected have turned out to be terrific guys. Dontari Poe, Eric Berry, and Justin Houston just to name a few. It’s a good group and it’s an organization and team we’ve got a lot of respect for.”
