It's Raiders Week!!!!!
You bunch of Deplorables... It's sad when a Raider Fan has to start this thread

On principle, this needs to be locked.

If the Chiefs lose this one, really going to suck. Sadly I have no shit talking to do as the Chiefs have beaten my expectations into I don't even know what. They are inconsistent and I'm not saying either way as I will eat crow most likely.
|
You've posted some some good common sense financial advice in this forum over the years. But for this week you can die in a fire! **** the Faiders!
|
Can Smith suddenly turn into a real QB? Nope. It's a real downer loving the Chiefs sometimes. When I think of all the QB's we have passed on that would have this team rolling like thunder it makes me sad.

The biggest surprise could be Jamaal going for 150 yards on the ground and another 50 in the air. He has ALWAYS played well against the Raiders.

Now I cant predict those drives will end in the endzone. We have a serious phobia of throwing or running the ball into the endzone on goal to go situations. Cover the flats, stack the box, defend 10 yards and under and you pretty much end all hope the chiefs have in moving the ball down the field. |

WTF!!!

What do you know...Raiders get help from the officials with the game on the line...again.
2nd and 1...incomplete pass. On 3rd down, they mark the ball back an extra yard by "accident". Look at the blue line.... http://imgur.com/a/o4MCg |

Raider week hasn't meant much since Marty left town.

Moving to Vegas is the only reason they are getting all the late BS calls. |

Andy's gonna run 84 screens and 2 gadget end-arounds with prego puncher. Reid doesn't learn from his mistakes on offense. It took a Jamaal Charles injury last year to get him to move to a more successful run-oriented offense (and even then, we threw it far more than we ran it). Prepare for those plays and your defense is golden. |
People still call it Raider week?

http://kansascity.sbnation.com/kansa...schottenheimer
https://cdn0.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/_FH...10x_medium.jpg The Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders have been rivals for some time but that rivalry was taken to new heights in the 1990s with Marty Schottenheimer as the head coach of the Chiefs. He demanded that his players dislike the Raiders as he did and soon the Raider-hater culture was born. Marty talked this week with Kevin Kietzmann of 810 WHB's Between the Lines and offered up his thoughts on Raider week. "It was different," Marty said of Raider week. "I'd walk in there in the meetings during Raider week and before I could open my mouth the guys would look around and say, 'Hey guys, the coach is here. Let's go!. It's Raider week!" As someone who's best memories are the '90s Chiefs, I can remember this feeling Raider week meant something a lot more than it does now but that's because both teams were actually good. Of course that didn't stop Marty from going 18-3 against them those years. Here's what Marty had to say when asked about his dislike for the Raiders. "I have always just been very uncomfortable about the fact that the Raiders management has continued to steadfastly to feel as though they're better than the rest. And I'm not necessarily just talking about the on the field aspect of it. Al Davis made signfiicant contributions to the American Football League. The thing that always troubled me is that they have these issues there were being ovted on during the league meetings for one thing or another. If there were 28 teams, there would be 27-1 and the Raiders would be the team that would vote in the opposite way to the unanimous sense of everyone else. Of course the roles were changed and ultimately would happen is that Al Davis was going to go and in effect keep these issues from being unanimous and that always bothered me. He recalls one game that occurred before he became head coach in '89 -- the Chiefs were pretty miserable during the '80s -- that has stuck with him to this day. I remember one game -- it occurred before I became the coach -- but I remember watching it and studying it on tape. The game where the Raiders came into Arrowhead and were rather belligerent about the way they were going about their business and I think they won rather handily and that really kind of stuck with me. I've always thought the league was more important as a whole than any individual team and I don't think the Raiders ever felt that way. He also shared his philosophy on how to beat the Raiders and it's very entertaining. Essentially, keep playing hard and the Raiders will eventually beat themselves. As a football team there was a philosophy relative to how you beat the Raiders. That was you went into the game with the understanding that the first half would come and go and you would want to stay in the contest but if you stayed the course into the fourth quarter you would find a way to somehow beat them or they'd beat themselves and you'd end up the winner anyway. That's the way they functioned in my view. I think you could bring Marty in as a motivational speaker during every Raiders week and he'd get the troops fired up to the point they'd be ready to break out of the locker room. Marty never hid his feelings for the Raiders and I think that will be one of the lasting memories of him in Kansas City. |
I guess you can get all hyped up on it....
But since Marty left, they have won more playoff games, won an AFC championship and got beat in a Superbowl... We haven't done much except rehash coaches and QBs |
I have a feeling we're going to get raped.

Like Shark Week with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less teeth.
|
I really really really hate the Raiders.
|
The Raiders in crunch time have been impressive this season. The way they've kept fighting and won games in the last 2:00 this season has been almost as impressive as how the Chargers have been losing games in an epic fashion.
Is this one in KC or Oakland? In either case, they likely put up around 34 points and the chances of us matching that are just so slim. |
I hate the Broncos way more than I hate the Raiders. Like, it's not even in the same universe.

Isn't every week "Raiders Week" for a Raiders fan?

This is a big game. With the Donks loss the division is still in play which to listen and read about it the Donks already had it locked up.

Not sure which is more unlikely:
Alex Smith throwing a pass over 15 yards or the _efense holding the Raiders under 30. |

The joke was the PI that setup the 1 yard td in the 4th. Cooper went out of bounds and came back in. He wasn't overtly forced out and it's completely legal to ride a guy into going out of bounds. So, to top off that, there wasn't PI on the play, he's an ineligible receiver which means you can't interface with him because on the play he can't catch the ball legally unless someone else tipped the ball first, which would mean again you can't call PI on a tipped ball. Either way, SD muffs the FG and lost making their own unforced mistake. Raiders got lucky off a bad call & Chargers failure to execute, but they didn't steal the win. |

Worst defense in the NFL vs. one of the worst offenses in the NFL.
Something has to give.. |

It just doesn't feel like Raiders week. It feels like another week with of no hope of winning starting the worst QB in the league.

We're only 1.5 point dogs in most places, which means Vegas gives us the edge on a neutral field...
Look, this game to me just lines up really well for us. History tells me to expect the Chiefs to win. For one, you've got Reid and that post-bye week record which is insanely good. That's no coincidence. Then you take into account that the Chiefs just got their asses handed to them on national TV, and they're going to have something to prove in a divisional game. Defensively, Oakland has been a sieve and this will be a good opportunity to get the offense rolling and hopefully re-establish their identity by running the football to open up the passing game and allow Smith to use his legs more again. This may be the first game we've seen where Charles, Ware, and West are all available for the offense and get work. That could be an a big boost. Offensively, Oakland looks good but again, the defense should have plenty to prove this week and I think they should play pretty well... Chiefs 30, Raiders 17. Rebound game. Charles houses a 40 yard score late in the 4th to seal the win. And no, I'm still not sold on us being a SB contender until proven otherwise, but this is how I see this week going. |

I said it before, I think Alex should play better this weekend. |

We've all accepted that week 4 was complete dogsh*t. It was. We can't do any worse. But sometimes that's exactly what a stagnant team needs. A swift kick in the sack to create a sense of urgency. Their quality of play against Pittsburgh or lackthereof has forced the issue. They know that they can never allow that to happen again. Everyone on the team has to focus on doing their job better than ever. Coaches have to adjust and get back to what works. The players have to elevate. I'm not comparing us to New England at all, because we don't have Bill or Tom, but what we did to them 2 years ago changed everything for them. We made them coach and scheme as good as they ever did, and that's what our guys have to do now. |
Every shred of logical reasoning says we get our ass kicked.
Winning team, playmaking QB, on the road, 0-6 after losing by 10+. Call me Spock. |

They've been on the right side of some luck so far, and maybe that'll keep up, but they aren't kicking anyone's ass. |
I wish we didn't have Alex Smith. Just knowing he's our commander doesn't pump me up for the game. Derek Anderson is going to look better than him tonight. Bank on it.
|
Stuck watching Alex Cassel, a lot of Chiefs fan no longer give a shit what week it is.

Perfect timing for a healthy JC

They'll come out with something to prove after that horrible loss in Pitt. Oakland's OL looked really bad from the games I saw and their defense is awful.
This seems like a decent matchup for us, but it will be a close game. It's up to Andy to run the freaking ball. |

Raiders offense has been impressive but still has a ways to go. Carr still misses wide open receivers down field while checking down, wr's dropping easy passes, etc. With that said, the offense has still been quite impressive which tells me the Raiders will one day soon be scary good. Like many QB's Carr is prone to mistakes when pressured as noticed last Sunday. SD had some good pressure on him at times and it worked. However the Raiders Oline has been excellent so far in protecting Carr. But if Carr has the time, he will beat you. The Raiders defense will give up points for sure as they are still a work in progress. Raiders special teams have also been impressive especially with their punter who seems to have mastered the coffin corner kick. Should be a great game
|
Anything is possible, but it's hard not to notice a serious...regression...of the Chiefs as a whole. The good thing is, we know this team has done much better in the past. I don't know how it's possible for professional athletes and coaches to just shit the bed, but the Chiefs have figured it out. NOW...they've had a bye week, they are going against a divisional rival and they were sorely embarassed last week. If they can't get up for this game, then the experiment is probably over.

My enthusiasm is very low.
