It's pretty clear that Mr. Sedaka's best work is still ahead of him. If our luck holds out, he'll never get around to doing it.

Gotta say that shit before he's dead and off limits.

I remember those songs so he was more of a Barry Manilow type. Did he write any of those not that it really matters I guess. Those type songs always sounded like something Kris Kristofferson wrote them tossed out in the garbage bin.

When I was a kid, I used to think a woman was singing "laughter in the rain".

I can now kinda' see why.

Also, if you would have told me a dude was singing "hot child in the city", I would have called you a reerun.

I miss the mystery of radio.

Slap your mouth. Maybe a solo Kenny Loggins but Messina would have never let him get away with that. How House at Pooh Corner slipped by is beyond me.

Sedaka clearly does the golden oldies era better - you know; prior to the middle age sex-offender look.

Also yes - plus his (Roy Orb.) timing was off a little, once he'd blossomed. He had a horrible life - if you ever do the research. I agree - In fact, I think I like him better than Elvis.

Without a doubt he had an different voice. He certainly isn't terrible. Bad Blood was a jam - but creepy as hell video.

Simply Red 06-06-2016 08:15 PM

here he is w/o Elton J.

He was definitely an entertainer for that time period. I see why folks liked him.

I mean sure it looks corny now but still, it wasn't always. At least he had the guts to get up there and dance - him and his backup vocalists were really into it.

Not too bad at all - I expected worse w/ Elton removed - but naw - still a nice tune!

Yeah thats going to be a tough one unless you catch a concert that sells his shirt.

I think you would have to take a picture in and have it silk screened at a Tee shirt shop. He may sue though could be hurting for money :)

First heard this song while driving down the road at work in the complete middle of nowhere on AM radio somewhere around 1995... love the subdued horns version, they're integral to it yet I cant find that version online

The last CP Bash we attended at Nzoner's, Neil Sedaka's Bitch is Back was one of the songs on the playlist (I don't know why ask Nzoner) and I knew the whole song although it's not one of my faves.
Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" was a double hit for him, I learned the original version as a little kid and he came out with a remake in the late 70's(?). I'll sing along with both but the original is my fave.
