Tirico's leaving ESPN for NBC as well.

This is mostly about the Olympics but it's also about the NFL on Thursday & Sunday nights, along with continued growth of NBC Sports Channels.

A lot of their best money makers leaving. Seems like all they have left is SVP

Tirico is stellar and a good catch for NBC. Bayless is the stuff you fear mowing when it's soft and wet.

I love seeing the NBC and Fox Sports networks growing. ESPN has WAY too much control of the sports media. It's where the clueless fans go to get their dose of Kool-aid for the day.

Every network is run the same way.

Brad Nessler is apparently leaving ABC/ESPN for CBS to call NFL games and eventually replace Verne Lundquist on the SEC Football games.

I have no clue who ESPN's going to use for Monday Night now. They might have to start over with somebody completely new

It does seem like the NFL Network follows the same model as ESPN - beating topics to death and talking-head blowhards arguing.

IMO, there has been no one better than Verne Lundquist calling a college football game, or any other sporting event. He's unassuming, humble and gets out of the way of the game.

Yeah, it's possible, although I watch those games with the sound off, as I do most NFL games.

Verne is certainly a great broadcast but he and Nessler are 1a and 1b, IMO.

I've always wondered if Skip Bayless literally believes some of the stuff that has come out of his mouth and/or he has written, or if it is just a "shtick" that he pulls off. Or both...if he just kind of embellishes his actual thoughts to create a shtick. Whatever the case, I've caught some laughs from watching he and Stephen A. bicker with each other about things like...Tebow. It's been funny, IMO...and funnier yet, is the reaction(s) they get from people who watch them. I've seen a ton of people get their panties in a wad while watching Bayless be Bayless...and it's been funny as hell.

I've always been a huge Ian Eagle fan...would love to see him get a big time gig ala MNF or the CBS SEC games....

There's like only a few media companies/sources as opposed to like 50 forty years ago. Everyone's under the same umbrella.
He didn't leave because of some negative problem. The wealthy just move pieces around.

Skip Bayless' schtick was sooooooooooo ****ing annoying. I had a lot of respect for Stephen A until he went to first take. Now he is just a more articulate Bayless. Hopefully that model goes and gets fisted.

Trico is good. I enjoy his commentary when he is a guest on radio a lot. Like an awful lot.

Pretty much all ESPN has for talent I Care what they have to say is Russillo. I like SVP most of the time, but I rarely catch him and there is only so much you can do with the sports center model.

LeBatard has some decent take if he's not too busy being reeruned in an effort to "not take himself too seriously."

ESPN sucks.

Gus Johnson is one of my favorite announcers, but FOX has totally misused him.

SVP is the best of the bunch by a mile.

The only time I've watched ESPN in the past decade is when I had no alternative, i.e., Chiefs, Royals, KU BB and bowl games.

I can honestly say that I've never heard Colin Cowherd or Skip Bayless and if I have, I don't remember either.

I also mute the TV when watching their broadcasts, as I can't tolerate their announcers.

Pretty much where I'm at.

I should say they have a hell of an asset in Jay Bilas. Unfortunately he's always paired with some ****ing douche.

If you ever care tune in to Rusillo and Kannell on ESPN radio. Kannell is meh but Rusillo has really good takes. Mostly because he pretty much refuses to take extreme talking head approach and says takes a reasonable approach almost all the time. It's a good program. It'd be on 10-1 out there.

I compose and produce music all day so unfortunately, listening to talk radio is not possible.

Bermman was great in 1986 and I enjoyed him in 1993.

Since then, not so much.

Every show is 2 dudes arguing and they need to move on from vitale. If you aren't of a fan KU basketball there's literally 0 reason to watch ESPN they don't give a **** about the midwest. BTW I haven't watched the college football championship since they moved it to ESPN in like 2011?

I don't know if I've ever once agreed with Skip Bayless about anything. That said, I don't watch ESPN much anymore, so I could care less where he lands.

I never seem to catch it. When they've been in other shows they seem to quick to adopt a hard position on something that really doesn't matter or is obviously in the middle somewhere. I'll watch for it though. Is it TV only?

Somebody is a little behind. NBA has had their own network since 2003. NHL since 2007. MLB since 2009.

Says he's the play-by-play guy for the Milwaukee Bucks on FS Wisconsin. Before that he did a lot of soccer for Fox. He is sorely missed in March Madness and in the NFL in my opinion.

The only thing ever worth the time to watch ESPN is when they have a Royals game, then mute the announcers.
