Snowpocalypse? Maybe?

They're actually still calling for snow here. They're calling for 8-12 inches with 50 MPH wind. That would suck.

However, the 2 times they've said we were going to get 12 inches, we got a whole lot of not a damn thing.

Brace for impact boys.

BlackHelicopters 01-29-2016 09:19 AM

I can measure snow up to 13 inches in depth.

Calling for up to 16" here. At least it's hitting us the first of February and not the first of December.

I've heard anywhere from 5-21 inches...better stock up on everything. That way we are sure to get just a dusting.

Lezak is my favorite weather guy, but the past couple of years he's been getting too dramatic. He did predict 20-25" for the metro area from this storm when it was the 7-day forecast. Every day since then the predicted snowfall amounts have been reduced significantly. I guess it keeps viewers tuned in. Also, his LRC (Lezak Recurring Cycle theory) has not been accurate for quite some time even though he touts it as often as possible.

I have seen some storms with two different models and one model had a less chance of snow. I emailed weathercaster and said "do we get a choice?"

I am going to have the kids build 4-5 snowmen at various ranges from 200-1000 yards and use them for targets.

Thank you!

As long as it stays the hell away from Minneapolis it's all good. I just flew in tonight from Baltimore were I spent the week. If I get ****ed trying to fly home Sunday from a storm I'm going to be bent. I have to fly top Seattle Tuesday and back Wednesday as well which brings up another point, flying sucks!

Slight chance for rain here Monday/Tuesday. Cold air moves after precip shuts off.

My dad used to say "if you don't like the weather, wait till tomorrow".

RedDread 01-29-2016 10:20 PM

The blog gives you a good idea of why it's hard to predict this stuff. They're trying to get the track of a storm within 50-100 miles that's not even past Hawaii right now.

One thing is for sure though: The southeast is gonna have a huge severe weather outbreak.

Buehler445 01-30-2016 06:38 AM

They're starting to pull the snowfall back some here. Hopefully it snows some anyway. I'm busting my ass to get fertilizer out. I'd like to get it incorporated.

Three7s 01-30-2016 08:03 AM

The models have all said the snow is going north of KC for awhile now. I think even Lezak has realized it, but doesn't want to admit it because of his LRC fetish. This storm is all the proof you need to understand that it's wrong.

I've got less than an inch of snow all year. And I actually need it. Cut me some slack.

Superbowltrashcan 01-30-2016 09:03 PM

Oh I feel for you out west. Have a daughter in Hays and the way it blows and bakes in the summer I don't see how anything grows without tapping the aquifers....

ptlyon 01-30-2016 09:19 PM

Now they're calling for a more northerly track. Anywhere from 8-12 up here.

This would be a better story if it would effect the caucuses in Iowa on Monday. All this buildup then people could not get out and vote. THAT is a story.

It may not allow some people to get out on Tuesday.
