Todd Bowles new HC for the Jets

He signed a 4 year deal to be the new Jets Head Coach

Jim Lahey 01-13-2015 09:34 PM

Poor bastard

petegz28 01-13-2015 09:35 PM

I thought Denver might go for him, really.

ILChief 01-13-2015 09:36 PM

Bad fit. They need an offensive coach

penbrook 01-13-2015 09:37 PM

Per Ian Rapoport

Look for Chan Gailey to be the new OC for newly hired #Jets coach Todd Bowles, which is an intriguing choice.

penbrook 01-13-2015 09:38 PM

@NBCdianna

I'm told by those involved with all 3 sides GM- Sparano Owner- Del Rio #Raiders

He still in the NFL.

TimBone 01-13-2015 09:39 PM

Prayers sent.

notorious 01-13-2015 09:41 PM

Chan Gailey has worked for every team in the NFL.

I saw a couple of interesting tweets that probably don't merit their own threads, so I'll put them here:

Quote:

Worth noting: only 2 NFL teams have had the same head coach, offensive & defensive coordinator since 2012: the Packers and Patriots.
https://twitter.com/FieldYates/statu...75946830815233

Quote:

Interesting that Denver allowing coaches to leave and 3 could wind up with HC jobs: John Fox in CHIC, Adam Gase in SF, Jack Del Rio in OAK.
https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/sta...14409140338688

That's the modern coaching life in the NFL for you.

notorious 01-13-2015 09:48 PM

Manning making fools a lot of money just like Brady did. LMAO

chiefzilla1501 01-13-2015 09:55 PM

Excited about this. Because... **** Pioli. Also hilarious that

Shocking that 2 of the other 3 coaches the Falcons are looking at are Parcells guys. McDaniels and Dan Quinn.

O.city 01-13-2015 09:58 PM

Is there a plague in Atlanta? No one wants to go there

And it is stupid to hire a Manning OC, he is basically his own OC.

I'm sure it has more to do with the fact that Pioli's two Parcells guys, McDaniels and Quinn, are still in the playoffs.

We all know that there was no way in hell Pioli would ever bring in Rex Ryan or Teryl Austin. Just a bunch of bullshit interviews to make it seem like he's looking outside the tree.

Arthur Blank's mother just died, which put the coaching search on hold. It probably cost them the chance at Rex Ryan.

I wonder if Manning will consider becoming a coach once he retires. Obviously he'd start out small, QB coach maybe, but it would be really interesting.

Teryl Austin is probably going to be hired there.

Why is it stupid? Arians, Tom Moore, Jim Caldwell, even Clyde Christenson is QBs coach for Andrew Luck. I'd say his OCs have done very well even without Manning.

I'll believe it when I see it.

3 out of the 4 candidates Pioli/Dimitroff interviewed had a connection to Parcells. I am pretty sure McDaniels and Quinn are the favorites and the only reason they wouldn't wait is panic that they may not be available soon.

I really hope they hire Quinn and he is a complete disaster.

Report: Teryl Austin "likely" to have second interview with Atlanta on Wednesday instead of Thursday

I honestly think he could get a head coach job right away if he really wanted to. Some bottom feeder team would be willing to take a shot on the chance he could be great. Of course, I don't think it's very likely he'd take a job like that.

Coochie liquor 01-14-2015 04:55 AM

I heard Dungver wants Quinn. At least that's what they said on the radio today.

I really hope anything associated with Pioli is a complete disaster.

Easy 6 01-14-2015 05:15 AM

After seeing what Del Rio was able to do in Jacksonville, I'm worried... that the Raiders are going to be even worse than they already are.

The NFL coaching carousel is such a little incestuous affair.

the Talking Can 01-14-2015 08:44 AM

atl feels familiar

wait till superbowl to hire coach, lose out on all the best coordinators...a pioli special

KCCHIEFS27 01-14-2015 10:09 AM

Rex Ryan is going to make Bowles cry.

All we need is the Pats to make the SB and then the Falcons to hire their OC.

It completely lacks future vision and creativity for sure... Probably why the product is becoming more and more stale each year...

"Police said that Anderson was caught snorting cocaine in a bathroom stall. The arresting officer said he saw Anderson and another man snorting the drug off the toilet bowl."

If I were hiring a coach this year, this guy would have been at the top of my list. Glad he didn't go to the Broncos or Raiders.

Todd Bridges was very successful at taking cocain after diff'rent Strokes

milkman 01-14-2015 04:11 PM

So the road to a head coaching position in the NFL if your name is Todd runs through Arizona.
