Fortunately, individual games don't really matter much in college basketball, unlike College Football. Win in the tournament(s) and everything is fine.

Could Kansas beat Kentucky now? Hard to tell but it would obviously be a much different result and will be different again come the NCAA Tournament.

To compare UCLA to a team like Kansas makes no sense at all.

A better comparison would be a to a team like Missouri. Missouri is currently ranked about 186 in the Sagarin poll. This is much worse than the darkest days of Turner Gill's KU Football teams which many here never thought was possible.

Missouri Basketball is going to have a difficult time beating anyone even in a terrible conference like the SEC. Kentucky could probably play the JV/walk on team and beat Missouri by 50.

It's uncomfortable to watch a program attempt to compete like the Tigers so I have sent my condolences to many of my mizzou friends and most are extremely upset about the state of affairs in Columbia. Patience will help, keep your head up I tell them.

Alabamas loss to Ole Miss didn't mean anything. Their loss to LSU a few years back didn't mean anything. Unless FSU wins the playoff, the champ will have a loss that didn't matter

LMAO
Love that your "top of the mountain" scenario includes looking up at Mizzou; MU won the head-to-head matchup (of course), played in the big 12 title game (ku did not), and finished ranked higher in the final rankings (Mizzou ranked 4th, ku 7th).

Top of the mountain, indeed. LMAO

Regarding the bowl, I'll give you a few hints.
1) It's where one of the "champions" of the "one true champion" Big 12 is playing this year and
2) It's where Mizzou beat Okie Lite by 10 one year ago.

Literally nobody but kansas fan remembers that game. I would bet that far more people watched Mizzou play in the SEC Championship game in each of the last two seasons than watched that "top of the mountain" game.

That Orange Bowl was literally the only game that day, yes?

How many other conference championship games were played the day of the SEC championship? (You probably don't know since conference championship games are dumb and hinder shots at getting into the playoffs, amirite?)

I'm not going to sit around and make arguments about it. BCS games are bigger than conf championship games. It's not some kind of insult or anything.

If KU or MU ever makes a playoff games it will get much higher rating than KU's BCS game no doubt.

Aren't both of those teams supposedly possible targets for Big 12 expansion?

On an unrelated note, that Temple game must have been devastating. It's the first time in history a Kansas fan has turned the conversation from basketball to football.

Both schools have been lobbying to get in. They have been told that the league isn't interested. Maybe the SEC should take a look, this is something that fits in that league.

Can you imagine if an upper echelon big 12 team picked up a player that had been booted from the SEC due to him pushing a girl down a flight of stairs? Now, imagine that team petitioning to let the player play immediately.

No, you actually don't stand corrected. Click the link to the Orange Bowl that the little doe himself used. This guy can't help but just lie through his teeth. Here...I'll paste the first paragraph:

The 2008 FedEx Orange Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Kansas Jayhawks on January 3, 2008, at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Spread bettors favored Virginia Tech by three points, but in a game dominated by defensive and special teams play, Kansas defeated Virginia Tech 24–21. The game was part of the 2007–2008 Bowl Championship Series (BCS) of the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season and was the concluding game of the season for both teams. This 74th edition of the Orange Bowl was televised in the United States on FOX and was watched by more than eight million viewers.

Of course Texas isn't interested. BYU has crushed them 81-28 the past two seasons. Like UCF, they're a mediocre school that looks like the 1972 Dolphins when matched up against the best programs the Big 12 has to offer.

The last thing Texas needs is yet another parochial school to embarrass them. Those types outscored Texas this year alone by a combined score of 117-24.
