Geno benched
Still wish he was in KC Claynus?? Suck it. Hahaha
|
How did I know this was gonna be a Clay thread instead of a Geno thread?
|
The lovers of the Chocolate Penis will be along soon to say how we just need to give Geno Smith a little time and he'll be awesome.
|
|
While I agree with the drafturbators' point that the Chiefs should be drafting QB's in the first round, they really hurt their case by hitching themselves to the Geno wagon. Geno ****ing sucks.
|
Vick isn't fairing any better.

I still think Geno is a good QB and will remain a starter in years to come. It is only the beginning of his second year and of course he will have some games like this.
|
Brady got benched on Monday night. He sucks. LMAO
|
How does one get a 7.6 passer rating?
|
ROFL QB1!
|
And you guys were ****ing HARD for Geno.........
|
Hey, you can't just pick on Clay.
Who was that other yahoo that loves Geno and went on and on and on and on and on about how Geno was golden? |
This thread is late.

Ah, found it...
BigCatDaddy. 2nd thoughts now??? |
He needs a change of scenery. He's mentally beaten down right now. Notice his worst stretch of games in his career have been the last 3? He needs to settle down, and likely find a new team soon.
One thing I will say about the Geno lovers, is that I think those of us that wanted to draft him saw something in his physical potential and abilities on the field. Saw flashes of brilliance that, with good coaching could be molded into something special. NY was never a good spot for him. Lack of talent. Confused coaching staff, and bad offensive system for Geno. If you sat there for the countless hours like a few of us did and watch every single Geno pass in his WV career, you'd have a hard time walking away thinking he's no good. 90% of his college tape was phenomenal. I know professional scouts who ranked him #1 in the entire draft based purely off of talent. The problem is, as a fan, we can't always figure out a guys head. We don't have the luxury of talking with him at the combine and meeting with him at a pro day. I think his mental make up is what ultimately made him a 2nd round pick and not a top 10 guy. |

Former Chiefs scout Dan Shonka. Went to school at Pitt St.

I'm so sick of hearing about Geno Smith.

I predicted he would be benched by week 6 ROFL
|
I was never on the Geno bandwagon, but even I know that Rex Ryan could ruin any QB. It is pressure enough being under the NYC media scrutiny and all the bad press you get. But Rex Ryan is clueless when it comes to developing young QB talent. Clueless.
The Jets GM would be much better off trading for QBs or signing for veteran FA QBs, because he is never going to develop anybody there. He would have ruined Andrew Luck's career. This is where I say, Chiefs should have taken Bridgewater at #23. |

I said back during the draft that Geno doesn't have the mentality to be a good starting quarterback in the NFL. He's immature and has a tendency to point fingers which came out pretty quickly in the pre-draft process and definitely played a role in him dropping.
Nice talent, albeit a bit overrated but doesn't have the mentality or bearing to make it for long as a starter in the NFL. |

Geno Smith missed team meeting
Updated: October 6, 2014, 11:05 AM ET By Rich Cimini | ESPN.com SAN DIEGO -- Among other problems, the New York Jets need to work on their clock management. Quarterback Geno Smith and a few other teammates missed team meetings Saturday night because they went to see a movie and didn't make it back in time, according to a source familiar with the situation. Smith & Co. got "messed up" because of the three-hour difference between Eastern and Pacific time, the person said. The Jets traveled to San Diego on Friday in an attempt to acclimate themselves before they faced the Chargers on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium. Players typically have free time before team meetings, so it's not unusual that they decided to catch a movie. It wasn't immediately clear whether the players were reprimanded. No one was benched or appeared to have reduced playing time. On Monday morning, a team spokesman called it an "honest mistake" and confirmed that Smith arrived 10 to 15 minutes after the meeting ended. Smith caught up afterward with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and quarterbacks coach David Lee. It was Smith's first missed meeting, the spokesman said. The Jets confirmed ESPN.com's reporting that said Smith was late because he got confused by the time difference. Coach Rex Ryan always keeps the team on Eastern time for West Coast trips, but Smith was thrown off because he saw the time on his cellphone, which showed Pacific time, a source said. The mix-up happens to a player on every West Coast trip, another source said. Ryan didn't announce any discipline to the team, but some close to the team suspect the players will get fined. Smith started Sunday's game, played poorly and was pulled at halftime in favor of Michael Vick. Ryan said he replaced Smith, who recorded a career-low 7.6 passer rating, because he was looking for a spark. The Jets trailed 21-0 then and ended up losing 31-0. "If not then, then when?" Ryan said in explanation of his halftime change. The coach quickly declared that Smith will return to his starting role for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. The New York Daily News first reported that Smith missed the meeting. For Smith, it continues a concerning pattern of behavior. Eight days ago, he cursed at a fan after the Jets' loss to the Detroit Lions. He apologized immediately but was fined $12,000 by the league. A few days later, Smith bristled during a media session when a reporter asked him whether he thinks Vick would provide a spark off the bench. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/stor...ting-san-diego |
The real scandal will come when it is revealed that Smith and his "teammates" went to see the movie Bathhouse Orgies 9: Steamed Studs.

It's funny that the only people that even ****ing care enough about Geno to bring him up supposedly hate the guy.
What a bunch of teenage girls. |
Now does everyone see why Andy wanted Alex Smith? How many games would this team have won if they would have taken Geno? And same for this year? Overall the Chiefs have a lot of deficiencies to address. Andy was probably thinking he wouldn't make it past year two without a guaranteed good QB. Build up the team around Alex and when the right QB comes along draft him and let him sit for 2-3 years and learn the game. That way you have a good team around a good QB.
Alex may not light the world on fire but he's also not going burn it down either. |

Win just enough to sell out the stadium, that's good enough for Chiefs fans! |

You would really feel no differently after suffering many huge blowout losses.. ending up 2-14 again, and having everyone else laughing? Wins feel great... close losses against better teams sting, but one can still find some pride in such a loss. Losing miserably all year is... miserable. |
Quote:
In fact, I watch the Chiefs just like I do SNF or the CBS game on Thursday night - it's football, and other than having much more knowledge about the Chiefs than other teams, I don't really care if they win or lose anymore. And FYI, other teams' fans are still laughing at us. Going 10-6 and losing in the first round of the playoffs doesn't stop that. If anything, they see all of the adoration Alex Smith gets and they think Chiefs fans have finally ****ing lost their minds. |

It's like, even if we blast the **** out of the Patriots, I know the season is pointless. I truly think the only thing that's ever going to get me excited ever again is if we have our own stud, homegrown, big-armed QB. |
