Jesus. Those one who sucks the peniss rake money in hand over fist and they don't want to pay out what might amount to $50 grand a year in health insurance premiums for the grounds crew?

Pasta Little Brioni 08-22-2014 12:23 PM

As big a scumbag organization as Denver

Would you want to pay out 50 grand to pay health insurance for a crew that can't even tarp a diamond correctly?

I blame the umps more than anything for that shit. It was literally pouring down rain as hard as you'll ever see and they were out there wondering if they should stop the game. So by the time the tarp was coming out they were also trying to pull hundreds of lbs of water.

Cubs are rebuilding now and KC is in win mode, so payroll comparison doesn't make much sense in this case. If/when the Cubs top prospects get to the bigs that number will climb.

Just last season even, the Cubs had an opening day payroll of $104M, higher than any KC payroll in their history.
2011 Cubs had a payroll of $125M.

Cubs' payroll will be a lot more next season. I expect them to go heavy after a #1 pitcher. Right now they have a team full of rookies and cast offs with Rizzo and Castro.

They are a joke. They tried buying titles and failed miserably....like usual

Trouble is sports organizations are ran different than a normal business. Owners have to reprogram their brain into this a hobby that makes me money, not a normal business that makes money.

And now they have one of the best, if not the best, minor leagues in baseball.

He was wearing his old Cubs batting glove under his fielding glove on that botched play. :)

teedubya 08-22-2014 01:14 PM

I hope the Cubs go another 100+ years without a World Series win. Lol.

Demonpenz 08-22-2014 01:28 PM

Ron Santo sawed off his legs so he wouldn't have to.gp to non.ada Wrigley anymore.

As you know a business enacts cost cutting measures where applicable in order to achieve an overall effect.
But yeah, seems like a dick move...

It was a skeleton crew because a good chunk of them had been sent home so that they wouldn't go over their hourly allotment.

The Cubs made more money than any team in baseball last year, but can't give their ****ing grounds crew health insurance? GTFO.

Business's that are worth $2 BILLION, making $50-$100 million in profit yearly AND getting ready to sign a $2-$3 BILLION cable TV contract don't try to **** over their public facing employees to make an extra $25K. They just don't make that mistake.

When you are an arrogant right wing family, you let politics get in the way of good business.
