I thought I was going to do something else tonight, but damn it, all I want to do is watch baseball.

In vegas, we're the 3rd-biggest road favorite tonight.

Canofbier 08-15-2014 09:48 AM

Bought my tickets just a few minutes ago! Can't wait to see Duffy pitch.

ChiTown 08-15-2014 09:50 AM

The Royals, in the past, have typically knocked Nolasco around pretty good. I think we win this one 7-2.

alnorth 08-15-2014 09:52 AM

Nolasco will probably be on a roughly 80-pitch limit. He missed a month and is coming back from a sore elbow.

This.

petegz28 08-15-2014 09:56 AM

Just ****ing win. I wish Ned would get a little more of Vermeil's fire in him.

I remember DV always saying: we'll play anyone, anytime, anywhere. We can go out in the parking lot an play right now if that's what you want.

ROYC75 08-15-2014 10:07 AM

In for the win, al.:thumb:

So, you're saying he'll only get through 7?

Archie F. Swin 08-15-2014 10:20 AM

I will be IN the seats for Angels at Rangers (fireworks Friday), checking scores. Here's to improving our 2-4 record at Target this season.

He's actually owned KC this year. Hope his arm still hurts.

KCCHIEFS27 08-15-2014 10:25 AM

A tad bit nervous for this series, but Duffy on the mound I do like. Let's go grab our 19th win in the last 23 tonight!

alnorth 08-15-2014 10:28 AM

The Royals have just been notified that our game on August 31st has been picked up by ESPN2 for Sunday Night baseball. The game time has been moved back from 1:10pm to 7:07 pm.

BWillie 08-15-2014 10:42 AM

Royals always seem to have problems with the Twins. I know I'm asking for a lot, but I want to sweep them. I feel like they could do it.

Willingham needs to play angry vs his old club

God of Thunder 08-15-2014 10:57 AM

I am also worried about this one......The Twins just seem to have the Royals number.

Nightfyre 08-15-2014 10:58 AM

We are all worried because we finally have something to lose. Enjoy it. Embrace it.

ptlyon 08-15-2014 11:07 AM

As a team, we are batting over .330 against Nolasco

In his two home starts against KC this year, he's allowed two runs in 14 innings. He has three games all year where he's only allowed one run and the Royals account for two of them. Though they did get him for five in KC.

cmh6476 08-15-2014 12:53 PM

I think we will win this one

My jaded Royals side says that this is where we collapse, pissing ourselves against the league's worst.

But this is the new me...the me that uses analysis to determine that we will win at least 3 out of these 4 games as the Tigers and Mariners beat each other up.

Yep, me too!

kcxiv 08-15-2014 02:42 PM

quick question, now that your team is competing in baseball does football take a little bit of a backseat right now? For me it has, i used to be all into training camp and preseason football, but since my team is doing pretty good the last few years, my interest in preseason football has seriously diminished!

It does until October Classic...................or until the Royals are out of it.o:-)

That said, College Football will always be my drug of choice.

CaliforniaChief 08-15-2014 02:45 PM

I've barely followed camp stuff from the Chiefs since the Royals starting tearing it up. And I'm very passionate about the Chiefs, but man it's been 29 years. This is historic and possibly awesome.

Yes

Pablo 08-15-2014 02:49 PM

Don't give much of a shit about the Chiefs at the moment. I probably won't until the Royals are out of it altogether. Chiefs are bed-shitting assholes that don't deserve my attention.

The Royals are made in the same mold; but they're giving me hope right now.

Well my Dodgers been play off contenders a few times the last few years, we havent won since 88, so not that far off from the Royals lol We just havent been historically bad, but in the end its all about the WS or bust.

I used to read up on EVERYTHING training camp, every single website anything i could find, this year i've only watched a few videos on the Chiefs website n thats about it. I have no idea whats going on lol

C3HIEF3S 08-15-2014 03:19 PM

I said this a week or so ago and I will say it again, the Royals have earned my undivided attention right now. Right now I couldn't care less about the Chiefs.

Nickel D 08-15-2014 03:26 PM

It seems a KC player that hasn't shown their stuff for awhile steps up and delivers.

I'm thinking it's Lo who'll lift high the Royals tonight.

A sweep would be extraordinary

lewdog 08-15-2014 04:29 PM

**** the Chiefs and Go Royals.

I've been just waiting to get off of work, eat an early dinner and then just watch this team all night.

Feels good man.

Anyong Bluth 08-15-2014 04:36 PM

Smells like home!

Thanks for the GDT, alnorth.
Best in class, as usual.

I hope Duffy can come out strong and befuddle them at the plate. The kid is seriously one of, if not, my favorite Royals' players ever!

C3HIEF3S 08-15-2014 04:37 PM

Not in tonight :(, get the W boys!

Yeah, but really anyone whose been around here long enough already knows the drill when it comes to the preseason. You can only get excited about the same canned media responses, overinflated camp position battles, and mediocre games that are so vanilla.

Sure, you can gleam useful nuggets of the new players and improvements, but the song and dance of it all gets stale because we all know the drill sans actual "news".

I don't says this based upon tempered expectation of the team. I would almost surely have a negligible or no greater degree of interest about TC & the preseason if the Chiefs were the Super Bowl favorite.

I've seen dress rehearsals a 1000x over. I'll readjust and get excited when they pull back the curtain on Opening Night. (Game 1)

WilliamTheIrish 08-15-2014 05:04 PM

Big Game James took BP tonight. Hit one into the front row of the upper deck.

I have a brother and nephew there for the Friday/Saturday night games.

Mama Hip Rockets 08-15-2014 05:39 PM

The Mariners are already up 2-0 on the Tigers in the 2nd, and they have the bases loaded with nobody out.

Mama Hip Rockets 08-15-2014 05:44 PM

3-0 Seattle, mid 2nd.

YOUR CHOICE TO BE A FAN/FAT SCOTT

Coach 08-15-2014 06:01 PM

Come on, please win tonight! Would be glorious to be 1.5 ahead of the Tiggers.

KChiefs1 08-15-2014 06:02 PM

I'm worried about this road trip. I'd take 5-4 & be happy.

We're fine, I've got $250 on Royals 83 or more wins, and they won anyway.

$10. ROFL

Big spender here! I usually drop just a few small bets at an online sports betting site a few times a week during baseball season. Sometimes I'll go weeks without doing anything though. I'll go bigger for big time championship games or NFL if I get the urge. Or drop some money on a Sunday Night football game I will be watching to give me a rooting interest. Nothing too huge though.
