-- I personally challenge a CP'er to visit Lobb Cemetery in Blue Springs, Mo.
Yeah - apparently it's haunted.
However - Risky considering it's monitored by a neighbor. There'd need to be a plan in place. I'm not one to mess w/ the resting - however; I'm always overwhelmed by this sort of thing, if there's any validity to it. Anyone up for a little urban exploration? - if so; PM me and we can either set up a bump for this thread w/ pics and or video - or you can start a fresh one. Would anyone be up for this - I swear I'd do it if I lived there still. Lobb Cemetery Blue Springs, Mo 64014 Description: feeling of being watched, little boy seen, orbs of light apearing in pictures that wasnt there when visited. Just a few comments from said visitors: - watch out for the neighbor he came out and chased us with his truck on the very curvy roads but cool place for sure - -we took pictures and there was orbs everywhere - - this place has the feeling deff. i have also been up to this place investigating on april 2 yesterday and have recorded 3 either faces or full body apperitions of an old man and small boy and have recorded some orbs but orbs dont prove anything there was also a skeletal figure in on of my pics - We stopped here briefly and ran some audio. In the 30 minutes or so that we were there, we got several fairly loud EVP. One was a man saying (I think) "hello." Another was a very loud voice of a woman saying, "Oh God... (help me please)." Can't tell for sure because I was talking at the same time. The place is nice and quiet during the daytime. We were there during the day and we got results--there's no need to go there at night and risk getting an @$$load of buckshot. - A friend and I went to Lobb a couple months ago doing a report for a speech class proving that ghost are real. I know your not suppose to got there at night but we took the chance. We heard people say they feel like they are being watched so we were talking about how we didnt feel that way at all and then my friend was getting ready to say something and both of our heads turned in the same direction and saw a little boy glide towards us... we didnt say anything but run. When we got in the car we described the exact same thing. Theres were things I was thinking that she said and vise-versa. We went there the next morning to see if it was maybe a flag or something else blowing in the wind and we didnt see anything. I think for sure it was a ghost... i still get scared thinking about what i saw. - My friends and I have gone a few times. We have gotten out and gone in a couple times, but we have gotten plenty just sitting outside right at the fence or in out car. We have caught sounds of rythmic finger snapping, footsteps, and evp's of voices we are unable to make out along with an evp of something responding to something we are talking about by saying "yes", and a voice saying one of our names. A word of caution, I was there with 4 other friends. We got out of the car and were in the cemetery for about 30 mins, and a car drove up. They sat right beside our car for a few seconds, and then turned around and sat there again. We started to walk back and we heard "OH THEY'RE THEY ARE!" and they drove away. My personal feeling is to be more worried about what you'll encounter with the living than anything that may not be. - multiple informational links via google http://i.imgur.com/xCgk709.jpg |
Would love to see the results.

Wait, this isn't a food thread!

Your challenge.
I accept it. Anyone want to come with? |
40 min drive. For CP, not a big deal.
Looks creepy. Based on google maps recon, an approach on foot is best. The fence to the left is the yards of neighbors. Any cars parked next to the cemetery would draw their ire. I suggest parking off-site and entering the cursed place on foot. We'll meet there at midnight, dressed ALL IN BLACK. http://i.imgur.com/GIPUWHV.jpg |
This looks like the asshole you need to worry about.
http://i.imgur.com/eemhCiq.jpg If you park up by the bales of hay, you should be golden. http://i.imgur.com/BKigx1D.jpg Anyone got a ghillie suit? |
Satellite reconnaissance indicates we may have bigger problems. This dead place is bordered by neighbors up the road, too. There may not be a close enough parking spot that also avoids complete silent running.

Now you're talking - this was precisely what I was looking for. Yes - yessssszz! |

Perhaps parking by the main road and cutting across country could escape detection. How far is this jaunt?

also Clay - are you sure it's that far? I'd have guessed more like 25 min.
|
I've been there before it definitely is crazy
|
It sounds like the best approach is to go in heavily armed.
|
I've been on Lobb Cemetery Rd. before - However I've never stopped.
This cemetery dates back to maybe the 1800's IIRC - though some deadites are only 40 yrs. old or thereabout. So the buried there, really vary in age. That much I remember - it's a very old cemetery. It's especially aesthetically creepy as well - the google images do it no real justice - ask anyone who's seen it. |
Do not meddle with things you do not understand.
|
There's another one out by Baldwin called lone Jack or something definitely scary as ****.
|
You guys should totally make out there. Just for goofs!

Pretty sure it's almost in Independence - like really close the border.

Been there done that. Many moons ago. Dark as hell out there back then but I didn't really see what the big deal was.

I enjoy investigating hauntings. But orbs and bad evp's do not seem fun.
And honestly, talk to the neighbors that you want to properly disprove the rumors so people will quit pestering the grave. That should work for night time investigation. Do Mount Washington for fun in Independence. Way bigger. |
|
If we can get like 6 of us to go we could all scatter in different directions and only one gets caught.

I put Lobb against any cemetery in Missouri for creepiness. Dude it's super old and not super maintained. |

I will procure and drop ship a black ninja suit to said partner of Clay's in this expedition.
I only ask for photos in Ninja suit the night of the exploration. |

I can tell you this much. If something spooky happens I won't run. I plan to commune with the evil spirits. They're probably a bunch of pranksters anyway. I'll ask them what they think of the Chiefs.
|
I agree that the main road is our best bet. What is that, a 15-20 minute walk?
We could enter the graveyard and none would be the wiser, assuming of course that the surrounding shrubbery is not too dense, and free of pitfalls. If old man peabody comes out to raise hell we just retreat back into the bush. It'll be just like 'Nam all over again. |

Just ask Dru or someone - too bad Rick doesn't live there - he'd go do it - I have no doubts.

Is that on skip town's property?

I'd definitely do this drunk. We'd need a driver.
A getaway driver. |

You know if you park on the main road and go through the woods that is more than a half mile through the woods, probably no trail. Depending on when you do it, dense foliage, shit tons of bugs/ticks. Humidity.
Better off it you do it in the fall on a full moon night. Or recon when the neighbors are gone and then just park there and go in early. Or wait till their bedtime. |

Besides I'm hoping to run into some Chupacabra in the woods. Or at least a visiting Jersey Devil. |

And did you move to KC? |

Wow. This takes me back to high school. I didn't know this place was that haunted. We tried to play a huge prank on some girls there my senior year. There is a little wall in the back by the woods that my buddy and I laid behind for like 15 minutes. It was creepy but laying in the woods at night always plays tricks on your mind. Anyways we got dropped off and then some other guys brought the girls back. The prank was completely stupid though and none of the girls even got close to the back of the cemetery. Creepy place. Laid in complete silence in what turns out to be a haunted graveyard for absolutely nothing.
We used to smoke weed back there too and I never had issues with the neighbor. This was also about 10 years ago so it's probably someone completely different living there now. |
I'd do this in a heart-beat if I had time and trusted my vehicles to not fall apart on the way there. This type of shit doesn't scare me. You hear of people getting all scared by ghosts, but you never hear of them being killed by one. I can honestly say that if I saw a ghost, I'd probably approach the ****er and be all like, "yo, wussup homie?" Because I know the thing won't kill me or anything.

If I was closer I would do it. Its about an hour and a half from me.
Ghosts and shit aren't real. Not scared :/ |
I hear all of this talk - and admittedly it DOES look good on the forum. But I want pictures. Who is bold enough to do this shit and actually do it?!
|
It has to be at night or something? Because that one link says there's a sign out front and if you call the trustees that manage it, and tell them you want to walk through, they'll probably say ok.
