I think this looks outstanding. Opens in a few weeks. Why are we not we talking about it more?

I'm IN.

NewChief 01-24-2015 11:23 AM

I think it looks good as well. This trailer and the new Fast and the Furious trailer both showed when I went and saw the final Hobbit movie.

It struck me that, while I love action movies, the amount of CGI and "action" that dominates these movies is getting increasingly preposterous. It just feels like too much eye candy at times. Now this movie (not Fast and Furious) actually seems pretty interesting with a cool concept, but I'd still like to see some of the ridiculous action toned down some.

Kinda looks like James Bond for kids, IMO.

This is a rental for me.

I'm seeing it this weekend as a protest against Fifty Shades of Shitty Twilight Fanfic.

Did you see where some theaters are covering the seats with plastic for that movie. WTF? LMAO

Looks terrible. Like someone said, James Bond for kids.

It's rated R, so I'm thinking for kids it's not.

This

Rated R for graphic violence and language

Chieficus 02-14-2015 10:19 PM

Great fun... Even crammed in the front row corner. Really thought 50 shades would help down the crowd to this one.

dilligaf 02-15-2015 10:00 AM

I thought it was great. In the trailer I figured Sam Jackson's character would be annoying but he was one of the best parts of the movie.

Ash 02-15-2015 06:07 PM

The wife and I took it in today .I enjoyed it ,lots of crazy ultra comic book violence in the vein of the original kick ass . I liked the bond clichés and the end of the movie has a depraved homage to the classic bond gets the hottie ending. Sam Jackson using a lisp was different and pretty funny.

Valiant 02-16-2015 07:55 PM

Really enjoyable, people were clapping when they killed obama.

keg in kc 02-16-2015 08:00 PM

Apparently it's already recovered it's production budget after the (worldwide) weekend take.

Smart move putting it up against Fifty Shades of Twilight. It was never going to win, but I think it got a boost.

That's great. I glad it's found success. I was afraid it was going to be 'too British' for mainstream auds

only happened before for Gallagher shows
rather see Gallagher's brother

RINGLEADER 02-16-2015 09:06 PM

Saw it over the weekend with the new GF. She's a Brit so outside of her excitedly pointing out that she had actually been in a police station featured in the film (?!) it was a good ride. Totally didn't feel ripped off.

Bowser 02-21-2015 02:03 PM

This was a really fun movie. Would recommend highly for anyone that hasn't seen it yet.

KCwolf 02-21-2015 05:26 PM

It keeps your attention and is enjoyable to watch ..... kinda why you go to the movies .... give it a strong 7

mikeyis4dcats. 03-01-2015 07:29 PM

saw Kingsman last night. Was going along pretty good until the church scene, then it lost it's way. Not that i have anything against gratuitous violence, I've seen and watch plenty, but the church scene and subsequent scenes of public violence were too much IMHO. There is nothing entertaining about watching innocent people slaughter one another, and the sins of the churchgoers didn't even call for it. It was disturbng that many in our showing laughed at the scenes, as if there was something hilarious about innocent people murdering each other on a beach. That made me feel depressed. Shame they went that route, and i'm shocked so many have such high praise for the movie becuase of it.

SLJ actually had a lisp before he got into acting.

I saw "Archie" from Rock'nrolla.

IN.

Sweet Daddy Hate 05-30-2015 09:09 PM

This movie, to a lesser extent, had the Rockinrolla-vibe nailed pretty good.

A total WIN.

Sweet Daddy Hate 05-30-2015 09:10 PM

I also watched 'Unfinished Business' today.

Highly recommended.

Just Passin' By 05-30-2015 10:58 PM

Spoiler!
I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. I looked at it as a British take on Wanted, and I see it having the same sort of questions/issues if it goes for sequels.

Psyko Tek 05-30-2015 11:03 PM

I just saw it last week, I loved it
very fun, and even the over the top ending was OK

I saw it this past week, and was pleasantly surprised that it was a decent action flick. I really thought this was going to be quaking blockage of shit splattered on my TV.

Whelp! Came to see if it was worth a look, and find this...

Did his death make you feel.... Deflated? :D

Silock 06-01-2015 11:36 PM

I couldn't deal with the fact that the music sounds like it was lifted straight out of Avengers. It was almost identical.

No worries. I'll most likely check it out anyways. I'm not one to get too worked up over that type of stuff. :thumb:

pretty sure you do. It was over the top and gratuitous. Which was the point. It became absurd. Which is why people enjoyed it. "Lighten up Francis."

Watched it last night. Really good, much better than what I was thinking. The action scenes are crazy!!

Rented it over the weekend as well - really fun movie.

Matthew Vaughn said they made the movie looking for a 'fun' spy flick instead of the over-the-top serious Bond/Bourne movies. He noted that even superhero movies kind of have their head up their asses these days and he just wanted to make something of a throwback, over the top spy flick.

He succeeded quite well. Mark Strong is just awesome and some how, some way, they WILL bring Firth back if a sequel happens.

Damn enjoyable movie and while it's not exactly Citizen Kane, the stylized violence is incredibly well done.

Easy 6 07-20-2015 04:45 PM

Yep, based on the trailers I was expecting a big piece of crap "James Bond for high school kids"... but ended up very pleasantly surprised, the action is at once outrageous yet incredibly well done.

This is a killer popcorn flick.

Sweet Daddy Hate 07-20-2015 05:42 PM

This is a great movie. Saved to the collection.
