Why haven't I heard about this? "Draft Day" movie

Kevin Costner as Brown's GM in "Draft Day". Good shot of Arrowhead in the trailer.

Did he **** us into giving another couple of second rounders for a backup?

MahiMike 12-26-2013 09:27 PM

Yeah man. I heard they did quite a bit of filming during the last draft.

it could have been a good story ROFL

Major League worked for the Indians. 6 years later they were in the Series.

Costner is MONEY in sports related movies.

interesting theory

I wonder if he drafts a running back #3 overall LMAO

TimBone 12-26-2013 10:36 PM

Maybe I'm reading this wrong. Are you insinuating that Costner was in Major League?

Gonzo 12-26-2013 10:38 PM

Might be a good movie. I heard it was originally going to be about KC... They even got footage of the banner last year, etc.

But they knew the chiefs draft history and didn't want to make it a comedy.

What's the name of the movie? Is it bill Durham?

crossbow 12-26-2013 10:42 PM

Field of Dreams - was one of the baseball movies he did.
Bull Durham - the other.

Both made lots o' cash.

He was... Remember? He was a catcher with bad knees, trying to teach a pitcher how to grow up. He was nailing Renee Russo and Susan Sarandon. Then the skipper knew his team, (The Durham Indians) was put together with a bunch of losers so that the owner, (Art Moddel) could move them to Miami.

The discussion over a wedding gift for Wesley Snipes was funny as hell.

CrazyPhuD 12-26-2013 10:45 PM

How many QBs will they draft during the movie?

For love of the game was a little bit of a mess, however.

He was also pretty spectacular playing the part of Ray Allen In 'he got game'

I love movies. I have to say,it still gives me chills whenever I watch wild thing enter the game at the end if the movie . Every sports fan had to have gotten a hard on of adrenaline. It's always nice to watch a sports movie where the actors can actually play sports. Football movies seem to do a good job of casting. Baseball movies, not so much.

Definitely. Anymore, if I watch that movie, it's more for the ending.

Tin cup is a good movie reference. In one corner, you have the Kevin costners. They keep shooting at the pin for a qb. In the other corner, you have the chiefs and browns who lay up for a qb.

In the third corner, you have the Oakland raiders. They're cheech Marin.

I think I'll like this movie. I usually like Costner, I think he got a *bad wrap just due to overexposure. He's decent. I even liked his quasi sports flick mainly love story for the love of the game. I know most ppl did not like that movie

I like him too. He just doesn't portray emotion well.

Hmmm. Seems like a decent story. Good year for Costner, also co-staring in Jack Ryan movie next month. This movie could fit nicely between Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty.

It was an ESPN drama series that lasted about a season about 10 years ago. I think a reason it was cut was because the NFL wasn't too happy about it. Because it's only one season, you could probably knock out the entire series in about a week. It wasn't the NFL, but it's pretty much loosely based off it. I thought it was really entertaining, again fully understanding that like all TV series and movies, they make things over-dramatic.

Other good NFL movie is Invincible. But you're right... for some reason, not a ton of great NFL movies out there. Most good ones are either high school or college level.
