Brandon Lloyd retiring possibly

For those that wanted Brandon Lloyd

Brandon Lloyd - WR - Free Agent
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports free agent Brandon Lloyd "does not intend to play football."
Lloyd, 32, appears to be hanging up the cleats. He didn't receive an ounce of interest after being released by the Patriots on March 16. If this is it for Lloyd, he finishes his career with 385 catches for 5,695 yards and 35 touchdowns. He played for six different teams in ten seasons, making one Pro Bowl.

I think he's highly underrated

Only because of himself. He was a self made implosion. After every good season he had, he imploded. very much like T.O. personality wise. Could of easily been a 10 year top 15 receiver in the league.

ClevelandBronco 09-07-2013 10:11 AM

What? He's giving up football just because no one will put him on a team? Quitter.

Apparently, the league disagrees with your assessment

Didn't Zach play football with this guy at Blue Springs?

Lloyd was a hell of an athlete at BS, played QB ran track. His older brother was the QB before him there. Fun times.

Too bad he's done, was hoping chiefs would try him out but i guess sucking with the pats did him in

Nearly every guy in the NFL was probably the star athlete in High School. The talent it takes just to get to that level is amazing.

I played against him in High School.

He whooped our asses. IIRC he played CB, WR, K, KR, and some QB.

-King- 09-07-2013 11:30 AM

He's an average at best receiver who overachieved. He did have good hands though.

Meh he was never anything spectacular. He was good enough to stay in the league for as long as he did so that's pretty impressive. Probably made some good coin along the way. I wouldn't turn down his life.

I played against Chad Clifton. It was like playing against a demi-god.

I sort of disagree. He actually was spectacular. He would do spectacular things. His consistency was what was suspect. Didn't have the attitude and work ethic to be the player he really could have been which is sort of crazy because he didn't have a bad NFL career.

I was a freshman at the time so not even. That team was loaded that year. USA Today top 20 team. Though they thought just because they showed up they would win and it didn't work like that.

Won a state title my senior year with a much less talented team.

Sure-Oz 09-07-2013 02:33 PM

Ladell Betts is probably the most fun player i ever saw. He kicked, returned kicks, punted, ran of course, just a stud and a very quiet humble dude. Had a solid 9 year career.

While I agree in principle with your hypothesis, I feel further research is required before we can definativly state this as fact

He was a WR and DB at Blue Springs, not QB. Joe Kinder was the QB at the time.

I was a fan in middle school knowing it wouldn't be too long till I was in the system.

Amazing runner.

But so was Jamar Mozee who had an injury plagued time at Oklahoma and didn't do much.

But yea Betts was on another level. The stories of him being recruited at Iowa are ****ing insane.
