Go on record: Will the Chiefs trade-out of the #1 overall pick?

Will we trade-out of the #1 overall pick...?

Chief Pote 03-24-2013 03:24 PM

I don't know if they will....but I would.

Tribal Warfare 03-24-2013 03:26 PM

Yes, according to my "dream"

Bwana 03-24-2013 03:28 PM

If someone out there in NFL Land is game they sure as hell will. The question is, which team is willing to trade up?

BlackHelicopters 03-24-2013 03:29 PM

No.

YayMike 03-24-2013 03:32 PM

I'm saying yes, and i have a feeling we are going to be pissed with the "bounty" we receive, as it may be shitty, but it will get us a few picks and allow us to either trade down again, or take the OT we want.

In58men 03-24-2013 03:33 PM

Too much speculation bs this offseason

OrtonsPiercedTaint 03-24-2013 03:41 PM

I've had too many, "they did what?"s to ponder it.

ShowtimeSBMVP 03-24-2013 03:45 PM

Real ? is will a team want to move up.

morphius 03-24-2013 03:46 PM

Such an impossible thing to answer, as they could want to, but if nobody offers them anything they are stuck with it.

Jerm 03-24-2013 03:47 PM

I've gone back and forth on this but ultimately I think we do.

Buffalo is the team that moves up and I do believe we'll get a good deal.

Munson 03-24-2013 03:48 PM

Probably.

Dave Lane 03-24-2013 04:07 PM

Nope gonna take a QB

B14ckmon 03-24-2013 04:15 PM

Not if they trade Albert.

Buffalo will go with Barkley after his pro day. Book it.

a pp roach 03-24-2013 04:19 PM

they have to trade up and get that number 0, just no other way

Rasputin 03-24-2013 04:30 PM

Depends on if they get any takers I'm sure it is what they want to do.

B14ckmon 03-24-2013 04:34 PM

If they trade Albert, they will want to get THEIR LT for sure. And if traded back to 7-9 they will definitely miss out on Joeckel and possibly Fisher also.

Chances lessen if we trade Albert. We would take LT at 1.1 and would have our 2nd likely back from the Albert trade.

Maybe,yeah, de-de-deffinitaly maybe

keg in kc 03-24-2013 05:04 PM

It's impossible to know for sure. I think they want to, and I think if they do it'll be for crap in return.

RealSNR 03-24-2013 05:10 PM

I said yes, but "I have no clue whatsoever" counts as a legitimate response. It's actually my REAL answer to the question.

Scheisty rapesters trying to play both sides of the fences

DTLB58 03-24-2013 05:40 PM

Yep. Somebody is going to panic and say there is a player they can't be without and the Chiefs don't see it that way, in the rebuild mode, they want picks. The more the merrier. C'mon up!

HotCarl 03-24-2013 05:41 PM

But there'll be no market! No one wants any player in this draft!

Bowser 03-24-2013 05:42 PM

Voted yes just becasue I think that is their first choice. I won't be suprised if they don't, however.

Nightfyre 03-24-2013 05:43 PM

Why would I need to go on record for this?

It wont be the return we'd get if there were a good QB at the top of the draft, but it'll still be more picks than we had before.

Depends on Albert but I think they will trade out.

RunKC 03-24-2013 05:52 PM

From reading reports, the Eagles have a serious interest in Geno Smith.

Hopefully Reid can trade with his old GM and still have a top 5 pick.

O.city 03-24-2013 05:53 PM

If the Eagles are that interested, whatever they offer, I'd for sure call the Bills and try and get more out of them.

I agree. Though at 8 I think most of the guys we want will be gone. That should be interesting.

There's no way all three tackles go by 8.

Lane Johnson will be available, which I and many others FAR prefer to Joeckel in every way.

HotCarl 03-24-2013 06:08 PM

If we're going OT, 8-10 should be about right.

O.city 03-24-2013 06:09 PM

If we go down to 8, we need to get a haul in picks. I'm a bit afraid to go down that far, in that I could see a team like the Chargers jumping us to take the last LT available.

IMO, that would be disastrous to trade Albert and not end up with one of the top LT's in this class.

wazu 03-24-2013 06:14 PM

Yes. There are plenty of other teams that see the value of having a franchise quarterback. Lots of opportunities for the Chiefs to trade down and draft linemen.

We'll just have to re-sign Albert then and spend that #8 pick on worthwhile positions that can actually improve this team. Shucks, that would suck :D

Well, I'm on the record saying I would go to 8 and take Ansah while keeping Albert a year on the tag.

Fisher and Lane Johnson over Luke " the soft bitch" Joeckel

I think so too. I just hope a team like Miami or San Diego doesn't trade up in front of us.

If we trade Albert and move down to 8, it will be blatantly obvious that Lane Johnson our guy.

O.city 03-24-2013 06:21 PM

I'm not sure Miami is all about a LT at this point. If they sign Winston like some expect, they'll move Martin to LT and see how that works out. I think the Lions, Eagles (maybe) Cardinals and another surprise team are looking for a LT.

If we don't trade Albert, I don't see us taking a LT. They'll either trade him and stay at 1 taking whichever one they like best, or keep him and try to trade down and take a pass rusher.

Nightfyre 03-24-2013 06:21 PM

There are plenty of sleeper tackle options outside of Luke Joeckel - some of whom will be available in the second and maybe even third rounds. This draft class is very deep at tackle, imo. Here are some options:

Menelik Watson, Brennan Williams, Chris Faulk, Xavier Nixon all have elite potential, imo.

Tribal Warfare 03-24-2013 06:21 PM

I'm surprised no one has brought up the point that a team could covet Dion Jordan and is afraid that either the Jags or Oakland may snag him thus trading up for the #1 overall pick for that very purpose.

Armstead too.

O.city 03-24-2013 06:22 PM

Watson is being talked about as a 1st rounder, IIRC at this point.

I would like that, but I think Ansah will be gone by 8 unfortunately.

The real question is who do you pick in this situation?

We keep Albert, can't trade down and the following players are gone:

Joeckel, Geno, Fisher, Milliner, Jordan, Ansah and Floyd.

MahiMike 03-24-2013 06:23 PM

No 'cause Geno sucks...

(ducks for cover)

O.city 03-24-2013 06:24 PM

I dont' think Jordan and Ansah will be gone by then. But in that situation, probably Richardson.

Thats the shitty thing and the beauty of this draft and the position we find ourselves in. It's just going to depend who they like.

I think the Jags probably take one of the pass rushers if Geno isn't available. Raiders will take a DL, Floyd or Star, Eagles a LT, Det Milliner or a LT, Browns are a WC at this point and they are who I'm afraid will trade down with someone looking for a Lt if we trade Albert and trade to 8, the Cards a LT.

So the 3 LT's are probably gone. A pass rusher, QB, DL and a CB gone too.

Nightfyre 03-24-2013 06:25 PM

I think Mingo is who we should be targeting if we trade down to 8. JMO.

Hammock Parties 03-24-2013 06:25 PM

No.

We're run by stupids.

O.city 03-24-2013 06:28 PM

Mingo is pretty much a 34 OLB, IIRC. I like Ansah's ability to move around a little more.

If we run a 4-3 under, we could have Hali put his hand in the dirt, Justin Smith style and see what happens when you throw three legitimate pass rushers at a defense.

O.city 03-24-2013 06:29 PM

No thats Montgomery.

Yeah, thats why I like a pass rusher so much now. We are gonna be in sub sets a ton.

Get Houston, Hali, Poe, Ansah or whoever all out there together in different sets.

RunKC 03-24-2013 06:31 PM

And FWIW, I think Jarvis Jones would garner a lot of consideration in that situation.

With his pro day and problems, he's out of the first round at this point IMO. Theres no way he goes top 10.

Molitoth 03-24-2013 06:32 PM

I still think they want rid of Albert, and will pick joekel.

That's probably true. I think Sheldon Richardson would probably be my choice for the pick.

Chiefs will end up taking Joeckel #1 overall. Just let the Chiefs fans have some hope. They need it.

How is that talking trash? I am referring to how butthurt you guys are about drafting Joeckel. I should have specified that I meant Chief fans HERE. Because the rest of Chief's nation has seemed to accept taking Joeckel.

I think there is a strong chance Detroit will take him. They lost Cliff Avril and let Kyle Vandenbosh go.

I think Fisher is their #1 guy, but if he's gone I bet they take Ansah.

I bet Cleveland could take him too.

With their LT retiring, I don't think theres any way they go anything but LT, but if they did, I think they'd take Milliner.

O.city 03-24-2013 07:10 PM

TBH, I think all the pass rushers that will be taken high are better fits at the 34 OLB than DE. Jordan, Ansah and Mingo that is.

This is kind of where I'm at as well. They want too and the might, but I don't think they'll get near the value they should.

Someone will make a hard run at Geno #1. A second this year and a first next should do it.

I voted yes because if they get an offer they will take it. And it will probably be a shitty, raping offer, and they'll roll right the **** over and take it. Then, a bunch of ****tards will spend WEEKS justifying it to make themselves feel better.
