They were speculating on NFL network yesterday that Jacksonville may very well be in on the Geno Smith market as they are not sold on what they have now. And if this is true, or even if its not and people think it might be then it's GREAT news for our trade down happening.

I still don't get how Blaine Gabbert got picked in the first round? Mind blown thought he was 5th round tallent that needed a lot of work to get on the field.

Gabbert would have been just fine had they:

1. Sat him for a year.
2. Gave him weapons outside of MJD.

He's incredibly talented yet raw. This is exactly what happens when a QB goes to a shit franchise and is rushed.

Even still, he's had flashes. This is the type of player whom the Chiefs would do well to try to acquire, should JAX be open to a trade.

I think there might have been a time when Gabbert could have been slowly developed into a decent starter, but my fear is that he's permanently damaged goods now.

It makes sense for the Cardinals to concentrate on improving their roster in a stacked NFC West if the personnel department doesn't view West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith as the solution. That's what gets me. As rare as Andrew Lucks are, it's even MORE rare that you find Russell Wilsons in a draft.

So draft tards who write these blogs need to go get raped to death when they say idiotic shit like, "Derp no Andrew Luck in this draft but that's okay just go get a Russell Wilson in the 3rd round! That's what the Seahawks did!"

I remember when we drafted him and I was like..."Why did we just draft that stupid bitch who threw the pick 6 to lose to the Hawkeyes in the insight bowl?" The only people who think it was a lack of development, are Mizzou homers. He has no downfield accuracy at all. And he's been afraid of the rush since Suh wrecked him in college.

So much for the idea this team should've hired Bruce Arians because he excelled at identifying and developing rookie QBs.

Personally, I think Gabbert's downward spiral began with his college coaching. Pinkel's staff teaches all of their QBs to throw flat footed...they've all done it from Brad Smith to Franklin and Berkstresser. Throw in no snaps taken under center and their gimicky, goofy offense and his development never really got started.

Shame because he was a guy who was blessed physically with everything an NFL QB needs.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said the team has talked with a few teams about the possibility of trading the first overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Reid said the team will keep its options open in terms of the pick.

I don't know how reliable that report is. Whether he's receiving interest or not, it's to the Chief's benefit that people think someone is interested unless the Chiefs have no interest in a trade themselves. If Jacksonville thinks someone is interested, they start worrying that maybe it's someone who wants to steal their guy from them so they might start considering a trade to make sure they get their guy. Suddenly, you have one team interested, even if no one was really interested in the first place.

The same thing goes for his comment about Geno Smith continuing to be a possibility.
