How do you think the Royals will do this year?
Despite the explosive start in spring training, the Royals always seem to falter when it comes time to put up the numbers that count. With that said, I still have good feelings about the team this year, and really hope they can at least be in the hunt for a division title.
What are your thoughts for the 2013 Royals season. |
Every year with the Chiefs and Royals, I expect and think that they will make a major improvement upon the previous season and become a contender....
I'm done making that mistake. I'm going into every season with the bottom of expectations until either team can show me differently. |
They will have more wins than the Chiefs 2013 season.
Never mind they play over 100 more games. |
78 wins.
They won't be .500. Probably come in 3rd of 4th in the AL Central. |
Royals will have a better season than the chiefs
|
I honestly think were gonna seriously contend for the central this year and have a legit shot as a wc
|
89-73.
|
I'm thinking 85 wins and some meaningful baseball into September. Good moves by Dayton in the off season whether they work or not
|
90 wins. Anyone that has seen James Shields pitch knows he is a MAMF
|
I can say with nearly 75% certainty that the Royals will have more wins this upcoming season than the Chiefs.
|
Really depends on injuries since we have zero margin for error with our rotation being so thin and no backups in the OF or on the corner IF. I'd guesstimate this team will win 83 games this year. The Yankees & Red Sox have never been worse, which helps tremendously because we won't go 3-12 against them or whatever. And our division really sucks outside of Detroit. The West will be pretty decent but I don't see Oakland winning 95 games again for damn sure.
I like our team to have a winning record this year and to be within 5 games of the last wild card spot throughout the summer till the end. I don't think we make the playoffs. |
Detroit is very good. Chicago has better pitching than we do. Cleveland is better, Twins will be healthier. After sucking for 30 years, the Royals are gonna have to show me before I believe it.
|
Compete for a wild card. Detroit is a lock for the central.

90+ wins. And I'm not kidding. They are going to be good. I don't say that every year either.
|
2nd place. 10 games back of the Tigers
|
...and Francouer is thrown out trying to go for two....inning over.

85 wins. They'll probably compete for a wild card and fall short.
|
If only a thread already existed for this conversation..........
|
74-88 still shitty. :cuss:
|
Yes
|
I think they will hover around the .500 line maybe dipping just above it with 82-84 wins.
A step in the right direction, but still missing the post season. |

Cleveland will be better: http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/blog/...cleveland.html Chisox Starting rotation is: Jake Peavy, Chris Sale, John Danks, Jose Quintana and Gavin Floyd. |
80 wins.
Better be about ten more than that, though. |

I'll say this re: Cleveland and KC... I think KC improved its pitching staff more than Cleveland improved its lineup. And I'll take the chances of KC's lineup taking a step up over Cleveland's starting rotation. Unless Trevor Bauer goes Tim Lincecum, part 2, or Ubaldo suddenly regains the 4 MPH he's lost off of his fastball since his Cy Young year, there's not much upside for Cleveland's starters. |
if they got no pitching they aren't going to do much.
|
I agree, KC v Cleveland will be a pick em this year. Both teams have improved, and kind of offset each other.
Unless Detroit has some serious injuries -pitching and daily lineup- everybody else will be fighting for second and third. |
.500-ish
|
Oh, and I've been saying 85 wins.
13 game improvement from 2012, but really only a six or seven-game improvement over their pythag. Factors: Full year of Salvador Perez Moustakas/Hosmer better Escobar worse at plate (slightly) Francoeur not historically awful (league-average is an improvement of 2 wins) Better starting pitching Less overworked bullpen |
7-9, with 9-7 potential and a 4-12 floor.
|
82-85 and miss out on a wildcard.
|
God I'd be thrilled if we just go .500. It'll be a decade since we've done that this year
