"Miracle on Ice"
Hard to believe that USA defeated USSR 4-3 to advance to the Gold Medal game in Lake Placid 33 years ago today. I still get chills thinking about/watching that game.

That was an amazing "once in a lifetime" event. Won't forget that one as long as I live. A bunch of college kids beat the most talented hockey team on the planet.
|
The movie the Kurt Russell was really good too. I have no idea how accurate it was?
Definately a top 3 moment in US sports history. maybe #1 |

One of my best memories. Watching that game with my grandfather. First and only time I saw him cry. |

Wasn't even a thought at the time and that clip gives me chills. The movie was sensational, Kurt Russell nailed that role.

Herb Brooks' best quote was during the Finland game. Something along the lines of "If you guys lose this you'll take it to your grave. To your ****in' grave." |
I was only 9 and still remember it well. Definitely my most vivid hockey memory.

I didn't know jack about hockey, but remember seeing it.
great day in American history. Bless Herb Brooks too- died in a car accident north of the Twin cities. Still a few flowers around that area. A legend around here. |
What a great day that was.... Thanks!
 |
