Would you bring in Hester?
If he's released. ...that is. Think Toub would want him in KC?
www.rotoworld.com New Bears coach Marc Trestman admits Devin Hester could be done in Chicago. "(We) had a chance to talk a few minutes but we didn’t get specific on anything," Trestman said. "Just an opportunity to get to know each other but not to put in concrete what his role would be if he winds up coming back." Trestman's "winds up coming back" remark makes it clear Hester is more likely to be cut than retained. It sounds like both sides want a fresh start. |
YES. As a kick returner only but FACK yes.
|
Oh hell no, please no.
Much like Dante Hall was when he left the Chiefs, Hester is done. |
kick returner extraordinaire and depth at WR? Hell yes. Though I don't know if any injuries have diminished his skills. So, a qualified "hell yes."
|
I wonder if Reid would like to use him as a 3rd or 4th WR. Someone to get out in space.
|
this guy is NOT done
overpaid yes older yes but still fast as **** |

I would take him for sure, wouldn't break the bank though.
|
I'd rather have Johnny Knox, that mfer is a burner and was really coming on as a receiver before he got hurt, he's had some real circus grabs.

I'd only consider him if we dealt or cut McCluster.

Not sure if srs. |
Do not give two shits about return men. Hell, the NFL wants to get rid of kick-offs and we want to go after that very specialist?
Do we need a good punt returner that has a good head and great hands? Yes, but find one already on the roster or draft one that does another job even better than he returns. |
yea how dare us give a shit about field position and team speed
a good return man didnt just win the super bowl or anything |

Jacoby Jones led the LEAGUE in 30 yards per return average. Essentially Joe Flacco starting drives on the 30 or more, for comparison sake, we had Shaun Draughn who averaged 21 yards per return. So Flacco getting the ball at the 30 versus Brady Quinn/Matt Cassel starting at the 21, if the return begins at the 1. And it takes one sack or rushing play that nets a loss of yards for that drive at the 21 to be in the teens. Essentially poor field position KILLING drives before they even begin. I dont know about you, but I'm sick of that |
I love that we're having this discussion 3 years after Pioli spent two 2nd round picks on guys who were supposed to handle the PR and KR duties.

we will be a factor in the return game, they will spend money and/or find a KR that does that. Whether its Hester, a draft pick, someone. It certainly is not any of the slow players currently on the team, that is for sure. |

Harvin priority over hester.let the midget get smoked on returns IF he can hold on. Returners a diminishing role in the nfl. Hed have to be cheap.

signing a returner has become perhaps the most wasteful thing any team can do in FA these days. you can draft a young late rnd player with return skills for pennies and maybe he becomes more for your team later.
|
Past his prime. No.
|
Hester Prynne?
