Larry Hagman.....Dead
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8AN02120121124
Larry Hagman, who created one of American television's most supreme villains in the conniving, amoral oilman J.R. Ewing of "Dallas," died on Friday, the Dallas Morning News reported. He was 81. Hagman died at a Dallas hospital of complications from his battle with cancer, the newspaper said, quoting a statement from his family. He had suffered from cancer and cirrhosis of the liver in the 1990s after decades of drinking. Hagman's mother was stage and movie star Mary Martin and he became a star himself in 1965 on "I Dream of Jeannie," a popular television sitcom in which he played Major Anthony Nelson, an astronaut who discovers a beautiful genie in a bottle. "Dallas," which made its premiere on the CBS network in 1978, made Hagman a superstar. The show quickly became one of the network's top-rated programs, built an international following and inspired a spin-off, imitators and a revival in 2012. |
I'm trying to figure out why I even opened this thread. I gotta get a hobby.

Everybody knows that Tony Nelson wasn't promoted to Major until the end of the first season. FAX |
Who shot JR?
Why cancer did. |
Anybody who has a drop dead gorgeous chick like Barbara Eden in a master-slave relationship gets props from me any day.
|
Nailing Barbara Eden all those years finally caught up to him. Oh, and cancer and alcoholism.
|
Holy cow, this guy worked a ton back in da day looking at IMDB. Who could forget his unforgettable performance in "Beware the Blob"?

That's too bad. R.I.P. J.R.
I'm still sad about John Goodman passing away he would have made a great J.R. or better Boss Hog in the Dukes of Hazzard movie. R.I.P JG :( |
Major Healey was waiting for this for a long time.

Tony was lucky to live this long, actually.
If I had been his buddy, I would have killed him a long time ago and made off with his bottle to a secluded private island. FAX |
Dallas was part of an awesome Friday nite when I was a kid:

That show has to be the most unrealistic show ever to air on television. Setting aside the fact that there was a genie, Major Nelson did not do any of the top 1,000 things that a normal man would do in that type of situation. |
