If nothing else, I'll check it out for Starbuck.

Deberg_1990 05-18-2012 11:54 PM

Looks like a poors mans Justified.....but ill watch.

Fairplay 05-19-2012 02:21 AM

Texas justice.

angelo 05-20-2012 04:58 AM

I have read all of the books featuring this character. It is a good mix of western/crime drama with some indian history and mysticism. It has some truly great characters in the series that will stick with you.
The author Craig Johnson does a great job with development and dialogue.
I would highly recommend the books. I hope the show is good.

Bringing this back up, the premiere is Sunday night on A&E, and early word is that it's good.

oldandslow 06-05-2012 10:01 AM

I watched and really liked it...but I am kind of a sucker for crusty, stoic main characters.

Lou Diamond Phillips was very good in it as well.

Thought they needed to give the female deputy something to do. At least there didn't seem to be the romantic tension that often has to exist between the two leads.

The tension between the Rez police and local police was pretty much spot on.

All in all - a pleasant waste of an hour of my life.

Buehler445 06-05-2012 10:07 AM

****. It's on already? I've got to pay more attention.

Chiefnj2 06-05-2012 10:09 AM

Enjoyed the books, the show was meh.

Buehler445 06-10-2012 11:35 AM

Finally Caught the Pilot. It was...OK. Has some potential. Set the DVR.

keg in kc 06-10-2012 12:51 PM

It wasn't a bad pilot. I like the people involved, so I'll keep watching, at least for now.

Buehler445 08-16-2012 02:43 PM

Damn it. I'm hooked. The Finale is upon us.

Not spectacular, but I'm enjoying it. It did a good enough job of building tension through the race and love story.

I'm liking it (Like I need another series on my DVR).

Buehler445 08-16-2012 02:45 PM

and Katee Sackhoff is a bit of a butterface, but she has a rockin body. Cassidy Freeman is epic hot.

Buehler445 08-17-2012 03:48 PM

Am I the only idiot still watching this?

Looking forward to the new season. It took awhile to get the characters fleshed in but I'm liking this show.

Nope, I'm still in. Still enjoy it.

Phobia 08-18-2012 09:40 PM

I watch it on demand now and then. It's literally my last choice. It's not horrible but it's slow. I haven't fallen in love with any of it.

I don't know what any of those are... I'm talking about the crap I'm willing to watch on demand - like some of the crap on USA.

Heh, just giving you a hard time. Personally my fave stuff are the series on FX and AMC. Not sure if those are on demand or not?

Fat Elvis 08-19-2012 02:38 AM

I've only seen it a couple of times, but from what I can tell, Longmire must be the dumbest sheriff to walk the earth and every single criminal in the world knows this because of the number of dead people popping up in this otherwise extremely rural county.

farmerchief 08-19-2012 07:52 AM

Started watching a few weeks ago. Really like the show and characters. Of course, I like anything that is partially a western, maybe its the hats?

keg in kc 05-21-2013 10:00 PM

Back for season 2 on Memorial Day (aka Monday). 9c.

Buehler445 05-22-2013 10:11 PM

Yeah, DVR is set. Haven't really caught any direction the show will go from the commercials. Hopefully it stays good.

He is actually pretty damn smart and aware. That's why he catches the bad guys. So, maybe its the criminals that are dumb.

gretnanefan 06-03-2013 04:24 PM

I have also read the Longmire books the tv show is in Wyoming with bighorn mountains in the background, they are awesome to see.

Buehler445 06-14-2013 07:29 AM

I just watched Monday's episode last night. This season is getting really good. I was afraid they fired all their guns last season and were were going to see a crappy election.

Spoiler!

RainMaker 08-02-2013 10:18 PM

Just watched all of season 1 over the summer and I'm following season 2. Stand out episodes are: s01e05 - Dog Warrior and then s02e08 - the Great Spirit. I loved those two episodes; strong, great story and a definite step outside of the box.

keg in kc 08-11-2013 03:46 AM

Thought the episode last week (the election) was really solid.

They'll probably replay it or maybe you can stream it from A&E.

But yes

keg in kc 06-04-2014 12:59 AM

It looks like season 2's finale and this season's premiere are replaying Sunday at 9 and 10 am.

Nice hopefully I will be able to catch it.

Thanks

Hell of a finale. Seemed like a short season. Wish there was more.

farmerchief 08-05-2014 06:28 AM

Yep, one of my favorite shows! Great ending, can't wait until it starts again!

keg in kc 11-20-2014 01:31 PM

Guess I didn't post when it was cancelled by a&e.

Good news there, though, Netflix picked up 10 more episodes, so it's not just ending with a cliffhanger. Although I don't have Netflix. So I won't see it. But still. Good news: http://deadline.com/2014/11/netflix-...re-1201289364/

Deberg_1990 11-20-2014 05:21 PM

Can't believe they cancelled it?

As I recall they said that, although it was A&E's highest rated show overall, the viewership was skewing too old. i.e. not big in the 18-36 market.

I guess I can see that from their perspective.

Too much reality show nonsense on cable Tv these days. But that's what brings in the younger viewers.

Buehler445 11-21-2014 09:27 AM

Damn. That was one of my favorites. I thought it was really well acted for what they had to work with cast-wise. And they didn't get too hokey with the story and effectively played out the mysteries.

It was a really good show.

Deberg_1990 09-11-2015 05:15 PM

Season 4 now streaming on Netflix

Zebedee DuBois 05-21-2017 09:39 AM

I've been streaming it lately. I must have missed it when it first came out.

It has an old time "Gunsmoke' or 'Bonanza' vibe to it.

HemiEd 05-06-2020 04:33 AM

I have been binge watching this one for the last week into season six. Really an enjoyable series.

Frazod 05-06-2020 06:16 AM

Never realized there was a thread about this. The wife and I absolutely loved it; this is one of my favorite TV shows ever. Great stories, first rate cast. Cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Yeah. AMC (IIRC) dropped it and Betflix picked it up and made the last season. I’m glad they did.

Randallflagg 05-06-2020 11:19 AM

Indeed. It pissed me off when the series ended...I loved the show.

I’m glad it survived the initial cancellation. But while I miss it, the show ran its course and never got tired and lame.

Raiderhater 05-06-2020 02:50 PM

I watched the entire series on Netflix a while back. A bit redundant and at times fairly formulaic/predictable and I found Sackhoff’s character quite annoying but, over all an enjoyable enough watch to see it all the way through. Lou Diamond Phillips was excellent.

Frazod 05-06-2020 03:38 PM

I love Katee Sackhoff. Nobody plays a better damaged, crazy bitch with anger issues better.

Also, Katee Sackhoff in tight jeans isn’t a bad thing.
