KC signs Gaither

Wow. Never thought that would happen in KC. Chief's are desperate.
|
In other news, Chiefs place Jared Gaither on injured reserve for the 2011 season.
|
|
:O
|
Giddyup.
If he stays healthy, he's a huge upgrade. |
The Ravensfication of the Chiefs continues.....
|
Awesome
|
Wow. Didn't see that coming. So.....Tackle has been upgraded...
|
Wasn't the Faid trying to bring him in?
|
Oft injured, bad work ethic. What's not to love.
|
The dude has a ton of talent. Let's hope he stays healthy.
|
Didn't pass a physical with Oakland two weeks ago....Wonder what that was all about.
|
Right tackle. Richardson scared them.
|
Pioli just pissed in so many faces.
|
keep em coming .. help needed on both sides in linemen ....
|
Truefans erect!
|
LMAO
I wonder how CP is gonna spin this signing. |

So which is he? |

This is a HUGE signing. I'm sure it wasn't a huge contract...and if he can get healthy...he'll fill either tackle position. |

It's a no-risk, high reward signing. |
Best tackle on the roster if healthy.
|
This is a great signing. Lights a fire under Richardsons ass, and if Gaithersburg doesn't pan out, it's no big deal. Milkman should be happy. Was very concerned about Richardsons motivation.

This signing is whatever CP says it is..... And that could be anything from starting him at LT now to moving him to defense and sticking him at NT. You never know what you're going to get when you log in here. |
Richardson must have scared the shit out of them....
dude couldn't pass a physical for the Raiders....dicey, but what the hell...maybe he can spend a month getting in shape and give us something mid season.... |
Albert and Gaither are great bookend tackles.....if healthy.

I don't think the intent is to replace Richardson, unless Gaither just flat out beasts<br />

Who's that guy that's always begging for us to take a LT with our #1 pick? He's creamed his panties twice this morning.
|
Guys, we are going to the Super Bowl.
My teams are either going to or winning the championship the last two years. Make it three. SUPER BOWL |

in before everyone screams move Albert to RT

Signing a LT that someone else developed is NOT DEVELOPING OUR OWN! We must develop our own or it doesn't count. There. I helped start his response to you. |

move him to LG and cut lilja! LMAO |

Gaither will start at LT, Albert to RT... |
Not that I expect this to work out as well, but...
Didn't Lilja fail his physical last year with Indy? Obviously we see something other teams didn't. We know the kid is talented when healthy. Dude's only 25 and has barely played. If we can get him healthy and his head screwed on right, we'll have ourselves a damn good RT. |
Well, this is the first of about 5 of these kinds of moves we should've made to this point, but I'm damn glad to see we've made it.
We have plenty of roster room at the moment, why not take the shotgun approach, hurl a bunch of talented youngish vets at the problem, and see who sticks? The law of averages suggests 1 or 2 of them will. Honestly, I'd almost rather see him start the season on the PUP though. Let Richardson slog through the easier early part of the schedule and then have Gaither rested and ready to kick some ass by shortly after the bye. |

Dane just Facebooked me and said to tell everyone this guy is the next Kendrell Bell.

JoshLooney Josh Looney With the signing of Gaither (6-9), #Chiefs have to have three of the tallest players in the NFL. Pope and Mims both 6-8. 11 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply We're building a basketball team! |

Nice pick up if we can get him healthy! Why not take a chance on him? At least we weren't the ones that used a draft pick to get him and there is NFL film available to assess his abilities. Good move Pioli!!
|
|
Damn....that was quick.
Any word on the contract? Another 1 year deal? |
it's not surprising our offensive line and qb's haven't been very good lately. good thing that isn't important in this league.
|
I really like the effort being made to address our needs between draft and FA. I can't remember the last time such an effort was made. I was kinda getting used to one FA signing per year.
|
more causes that Cassel should have zero excuses about not succeeding this season.

like the willingness to make this move...about the only concern I have left is DE and backup QB

You are such a bastard. |
I think he missed all of last season with a back injury, and like a lot of big guys came back from the lockout overweight; around 400lbs. I think he has to lose weight before he can even practice for health reasons.
I wonder what the deal is with Max Starks? I saw big ben thought enough of him to wear his jersey during practice as a tribute to him after he left. |
Our recent signings and lineup has given us lots to "crow" about. Are we now Baltimore-West? If two of these signings work favorably, then that's cool.

He's also looking for a new wallet since he gave his to her to "stop the bleeding". |

As far as I know, only McKinnie came in weighing that much. |
I am really surprised. Shocked really.
I was sure that Richardson's fragile ego wouldn't be able to handle a RT controversy and that's why we hadn't brought in any experienced back ups. Opps, wrong thread. |

Sure, why not. CP was all over trading for him last year.

Don't worry.... Grandpa Bill will have him toughened up in no time....
