LMAO

Marco Polo 02-19-2010 11:57 AM

I got that from another message board and they all say it works. Who knows. Thought I'd spread it on.

JD10367 02-19-2010 12:00 PM

Didn't work for me.

Buck 02-19-2010 12:07 PM

If anyone ever wants to read an ESPN Insider article let me know, I have teh access.

FWIW, 99% of everything on there is just speculation similar to what you'd read here.

BRING HIM IN!

okiedokieokoye 02-19-2010 12:07 PM

do you have to use a certain browser? Didn't work when I tried it on Firefox

I saved my ESPN-bashing for the second post in the thread.

ESPN sucks. Their Sportscenters suck, their announcers suck, their websites suck, they're nothing but propaganda machines for the big sports teams and icons they love, and they love to bash the ones they hate. Aside from a live sporting event like the NFL or soccer, I don't turn the channel to any ESPN station or turn my browser in their direction unless I need a sports score (and even then I'll sometimes just go to the sport's main web page to get it).

You have to be using a browser that has access to the cookie that stores a legitimate login for Insider access.

Didn't work on Firefox, Google Chrome, or IE for me. :hmmm:

Sure-Oz 02-19-2010 12:23 PM

ESPN is awesome at getting big 12 games on

Same here. I don't think this works.

L.A. Chieffan 02-19-2010 12:26 PM

Whatever you do, DONT subscribe to the magazine just for the access. ESPNmag makes your braincells turn into goo.

Find out what browser they use.

|Zach| 02-19-2010 12:27 PM

It seems like the kind of thing that would work or not work. Not really having to do with the browser.

FWIW, don't subscribe to "insider" or the mag unless you have a good deal. I get the mag, but the offer they gave me was great, so I went with it. It's an alright magazine. It comes only every 2 weeks, so i gotta say SI is better, just because I like to have something new to read every week.

JD10367 02-19-2010 12:31 PM

Does anyone really buy magazines? I just go to Borders or Barnes & Noble when I have a free day, buy a cup of coffee, sit down with some mags, and read 'em all while simultaneously using their WiFi. Cost: $2. :)

Quesadilla Joe 02-19-2010 12:32 PM

I subscribe to Sporting News and SI because I have to have something to read on the crapper.

I usually buy atleast 1 draft mag when they come out. It's one of my favorite things to read about, and you can't read the whole thing in one sit down.

L.A. Chieffan 02-19-2010 12:36 PM

Yeah I buy fantasy draft magazines.

Okay, THAT, I do as well. Usually PFW's or Athlon's. I'll scan them all and then pick the one I think has the best info. But when it comes to regular weekly/monthly mags, I just go read 'em. I go section to section (music, sports, computer, men's interest, travel). :)

It's the kind of thing that might have worked 10 years ago if ESPN had a bunch of interns making the new espn.com... this sort of hack used to work on some sites until word got out and it got fixed, and still might work on a small site that doesn't know what they're doing (but probably not).

Anyway, for those who keep trying, look at the Insider link at the bottom left of your browser screen before you click on it... that's the link without the &action= part. When you click it, it's more or less seeing if you have access, and if you don't it comes back with the &action to login and it redirects you.

There might be some clever hack to change the actual &action, so you have to type something like &action=I'mAHack, but I'm sure ESPN is smart enough for that, too.

Eh, I'm always 50/50 on threads like this... never sure if people are that stupid or if they're joking, which is pretty sad when you think about it.

(and fwiw, I didn't actually waste time trying it to know how it works, but wish I had more work so I wasn't tempted to even explain it ;) )

Titty Meat 02-19-2010 12:52 PM

How to read ESPN Insider:

Blah Blah East Coast Blah Blah Gossip Blah Blah

I edited my other post... I never actually tried it on ESPN, I just know how it works. It wouldn't even be hard to figure out... Explaining it is just a combination of not having enough work to do and knowing most people don't even know the difference between Google and a browser. ;)

gotcha.

Bearcat 02-19-2010 01:05 PM

It was a great thread though... people must have wasted seconds trying it, hoping beyond all hope they could crack the code to the treasures behind the locked door. People will be demanding nuthoo-oops, lunch is over.

If that's the case, we wouldn't have anything to discuss on Chiefs Planet. Why talk about Berry, how much of a bust TJackson will be? Anyway, I had two seconds at work and saw it, figured someone could prove/disprove it. Zero risk, high rewards. Or I could just say quit being a dick.

This is Chiefsplanet. We're all dicks.

Just like WIPE, if the info that ESPN Insider provided was so f**king special.....I'd hear it here in a matter of minutes after it was released.....and in all the time ESPN Insider has been around, I haven't heard in any news/information provided that they got it off "Insider" first. I'm not going to pay for "special information" that's either:

A) useless, speculative bullshit (Is Michael Vick headed to KC? No, but here's why it'd be a great fit! Blah blah f**king blah...)
or
B) stating the f'n obvious (SOURCE: Charles to be KC's starting RB)
