Stanley Nickels 01-01-2010 10:28 AM

Mine is a cure-by-prevention method: drink a glass of water for every drink you drink. You'll still be drunk, you'll still have to pee even if you hadn't drank the water, and you'll feel better the next day.
Second step: before bed, two ibuprofen and a vitamin B-12 tablet (this also works the next day) with a HUGE glass of water. Finish the water every time, no exceptions. Stay awake until you pee (this is a crucial step!! :) )
Third step: don't drink if you can't get more sleep than you normally would. If you naturally wake up early, just lay in bed with your eyes closed until you get the maximum amount of rest you can afford before beginning your day.
The first step addresses the headaches the next day from dehydration. The second step also addresses the headaches, but the Vitamin B-12 replaces enzymes from the liver that are expelled from drinking. The third step addresses the natural exhaustion of the body from it's over-exertion from breaking down the toxins in alcohol.
There IS NO CURE. But there are methods to mitigate the effects.

Thanks. I usually go by the water to beverage 1:1 ratio, but a lot of people (myself included) are in the damage control mode right now.

There has to be a witch doctor out there with a monkey's asshole mixed with racoon lips hangover cure recipe.

Hog's Gone Fishin 01-01-2010 10:46 AM

1) Milk Thistle ... Helps to metabolize the alcohol

2) Bacon sammich. The amino acids will help you recover faster.

3) Don't take Tylenol unless you want a ****ed up liver.

best thing to do with hangovers is to prevent them though ... plenty of water throughout the night and a few aspirin before you hit the sack.

Well, yea. But it's not called Percocet.
It's called Oxycodone. comes in several different mg's and has nothing in it but the narcotic.

When I still got overserved a lot I'd try to ask the waitress for a glass of water w/every glass of beer. Staying more-or-less hydrated will really cut down on the pain next day. I'd take a Vitamin B complex tab and an aspirin before bed - another upon rising if necessary. Good luck, kids!

The wife has puked about 10 times today already. She drank probably 4 bottles of champagne by herself last night. She'd been on a champagne kick for the last few months... I think it might have come to an end last night. She's laying in bed sleeping as I type.

No doubt. I limited myself to one glass at midnight. Stuck to beer and whiskey and cokes the rest of the night, and I feel fine. Switched to water at about 3:30am and took 800mg of ibuprofen just prior to bed at 4:30am.

The closest I ever came to dying from alcohol was in college when I got the bright idea of doing shots of champagne combined with vodka. They go down so easy it is truly dangerous.

In addition to the hydration thing, greasy breakfast foods really seem to help me. Eggs, bacon and hash browns seem to work the best. The trick is getting to the point where you can actually get that stuff down. But I can usually start with some toast, then work my way up.

The problem I have more and more the older I get is that I can't seem to sleep it off. Being hungover makes me wake up earlier than usual, and I can't get back to sleep. There's nothing more miserable than waking up at 6 am after about 3 hours sleep and not being able to go back to sleep.

I drank at least one glass of water for every drink I had last night.

Unfortunately, I also ate way too much. I ended up waking up at 6am and going outside and puking because there was just too much shit in my stomach.

I feel fine now, though... and I drank probably 8 beers, 4 whiskeys, and a couple of rum/ciders.

Long hot shower
Greasy meal
Huge glass of tea
4-5 aspirin

There it is in five easy steps.

Mr. Flopnuts 01-01-2013 11:05 AM

1. IV - no bullshit. If you're drunk, or hungover, it will be gone instantly.

2. Weed - It will make nausea go away, hence medicinal uses.

3 - Greasy cheeseburger - Grease is known to cut some of that shit and while it won't cure a hangover, but you will feel better after eating it believe it or not. I call it the hillbilly cure because that's pretty much what every one in Redneck Las Vegas does after a heavy night of drinking. Royale burgers from Steak n Shake at 8am. ROFL
