Are you usually sober or under the influence when you attend IHOP?

When I was in my younger years, I'd go there with my peeps and frequently cap off a night by pigging out and sobering up. Now I go sober, in the morning, and have a quick breakfast with my lady.

I think we have had an IHOP here for 10 years and I have never been in there. Back in my bar days pre IHOP, we would hit Perkins for a post bar gut bomb.

**** IHOP after bombarding my liver with alcohol I take my last 5 bucks to Denny's and I'm not tipping cause you brought me 2 dollar eggs

In college when I was lifting a lot I'd order the big country breakfast and unlimited pancakes.

That would be ham, sausage, hash browns, 3 eggs, a chicken fried steak and gravy, and pancakes. That's 2,440 calories without the insane number of pancakes I ate.

Waffle House > Ihop

Cheaper, better tasting, lots more white trash people to talk to to entertain you while you are over served.

Waffle House doesn't have french fries. Not even home fries. I don't approve of that.

The only one around here is in the ghetto. I prefer Denny's anyway if you need breakfast food on the graveyard shift, and there is an Awful Waffle walking distance from me too.

I like me some waffle house but they're a little behind the trend. Hell, they just recently got gravy a few years back.


However, when it boils down to it I go to a lunch joint for lunch and a breakfast joint for breakfast.

No shit. If you're hungry for fries go thru the McDonalds drive up.

If you want bfast go to the Waffle house and order a Waffle, fried pork chops, hash browns with cheese and onions, two eggs, and a bowl of Berts chili.

I'd rather make breakfast food at home. It's easier, cheaper and tastes better than Waffle House.

Their burgers taste like shit, too.

I have never been to a Waffle House either, but it doesn't sound like I've missed much.

Seriously folks, ask for the skillet scramble off menu.

Bed of roasted potatoes, smothered in sauteed onions, peppers and mushrooms, diced tomatoes, then two eggs your style [I go with over easy to get the yolk running into the potatoes]. Choice of sausage, ham or bacon on top. Short stack of pancakes on side.

Great with Tabasco.

At best it's something you could easily make at home yourself for half the price. At worst, it's barely edible junk.

If you are living in a small town with nothing else to do and you are drunk and aren't ready to go home yet, you go to Waffle House.

Got it so it's basically the same as IHOP/Perkins/Denny's.

Breakfast food only. I once tried something of the IHOP dinner menu and it was terrible.

I always found that pure white trash eat at Denny's but classy white trash eats at IHOP. ROFL

I honestly think that IHOP, at least in St. Louis, is the most diverse clientele in dining. Aging white neighborhood, affluent neighborhood, inner city, northlands, they always are PACKED with black, white, hispanic and asian. Seems like we're always next to a Dontari Poe lookin' dude ready to get his EAT ON!!

I sometimes think my parents come to St. Louis just to go to IHOP with me.

I prefer Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans

Here in Springfield I do either Ziggie's or George's.

They are cheap and open 24 hours a day. The Texas fries from Ziggie's after a long night out are the best.

Steak fries smothered in cheese ranch and bacon. Boom!

I really like Cracker Barrel for 3 things, Hash Brown Casserole, Turnip Greens and Cornmeal Catfish.

I prefer to cook it myself when have the time. I will say I dont mind Perkins or Village Inn for these kind places. Discovering a Mom and Pop or Greasy spoon that is excellent is really nice. I am an egg and potato guy for breaky. So IHOP I associate with pancakes with whip cream I really not a pancake fan.
