****Royals @ Cardinals | June 29****

Royals can't win on the road. Cards can't win at home.

Volquez vs. Martinez

tk13 06-29-2016 06:09 PM

Morales in RF tonight. Let the fun begin.

Lets play some strategy-ball!

Make it out of St. Louis alive and call it a successful trip to St. Louis.

ChiefsCountry 06-29-2016 06:23 PM

Cuban Breakfast muy caliente.

Red Dawg 06-29-2016 06:25 PM

Les do this baby! Get the win.

Dartgod 06-29-2016 06:27 PM

Great. Eddie has no idea where the strike zone is.

I suspect he'll find it soon. Right in the middle of the plate.

bsroyals54 06-29-2016 06:28 PM

EV is finished

tk13 06-29-2016 06:28 PM

Looks just like last game after one batter. Can't find the zone.

And if he does, the blind ump calls it a ball.

ChiefsCountry 06-29-2016 06:29 PM

Cuban Breakfast perfect in the field.

C3HIEF3S 06-29-2016 06:29 PM

That's a strike. A breaking ball that doesn't break, but still ends up in the strike zone is still a damn strike.

ROFL easy does it, Kendrys.

tk13 06-29-2016 06:29 PM

Well that's about right. First contact goes right to Morales. That's baseball.

Every time. Good thing to get it out of the way early.

Dartgod 06-29-2016 06:31 PM

Not bad. He was so wild on that first batter I thought we were in for a long inning.

tk13 06-29-2016 06:32 PM

Well that's a little bit better than giving up 9 runs.

baitism 06-29-2016 06:38 PM

Is Martinez wearing a lunch lady hair net?

kstater 06-29-2016 06:39 PM

Watching pitchers bat is so amazing

The trainer is getting a bit heavy.

Kolten Wong, Charlie ****in' Chan!

Cuban Breakfast muy caliente.

tk13 06-29-2016 06:53 PM

Talk about on fire.

C3HIEF3S 06-29-2016 06:58 PM

K-MO!!!

ChiefsCountry 06-29-2016 06:58 PM

Cuban Breakfast showing the leather.

bsroyals54 06-29-2016 06:58 PM

LOOK AT MORALES!

eDave 06-29-2016 06:58 PM

Thought that was gone by a mile. Mo-man dialed it in.

/hat tip

tk13 06-29-2016 06:59 PM

Gold glover, Kendrys Morales.

C3HIEF3S 06-29-2016 06:59 PM

I wonder what kind of route Nori would've taken to that flyball? Not as good of one as K-MO just took.

Simply Red 06-29-2016 06:59 PM

Nice! Although Rex is somewhat sensationalizing it.

Red Dawg 06-29-2016 06:59 PM

Morales getting it done

Jerok 06-29-2016 07:00 PM

Morales carrying the team!

Why Not? 06-29-2016 07:01 PM

Who doubted my boy KenMo's ability to play OF?

Me. Definitely me.

This is great, however. ROFL

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-29-2016 07:04 PM

Martinez just reminds me too much of Simon Phoenix with his blonde hair.

KChiefs1 06-29-2016 07:04 PM

Morales should be the full time RFer.

Oh yeah. Me to😄

Why Not? 06-29-2016 07:05 PM

Looks like our AIDS offense made the trip.

Simply Red 06-29-2016 07:07 PM

I'm digging Rex - he's a nice man it seems.

ChiefsCountry 06-29-2016 07:07 PM

Yeah for NL ball and rally killing pitcher batting.

Why Not? 06-29-2016 07:08 PM

Sure would be nice if somebody other than our 7 and 8 hitters would start 2 out rallies.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-29-2016 07:08 PM

I don't know what Peralta is doing playing that far off the line with someone who is an oppo slap hitter.

Don't care. Pitcher should hit. Period.

Dartgod 06-29-2016 07:09 PM

Boy that was exciting!

Red Dawg 06-29-2016 07:09 PM

Pitchers batting is soooo stupid. Can't the NL evolve past that at least.

GTFO. AL rules with DH are superior.

Simply Red 06-29-2016 07:09 PM

Did you all happen to see the Wendy's Mozzarella and bacon burger commercial?

baitism 06-29-2016 07:10 PM

Pitchers get a zillion days off. No reason for them not to take some BP. There are plenty of pitchers that hit well in the NL.

I've always thought the NL was a better game due to the pitchers hitting.

More strategery necessary.

Sorry if the expectation is that someone actually be forced to field and hit their position.

Disagree

Jerok 06-29-2016 07:12 PM

Pitchers batting is not fun, pitchers getting hurt while batting is worse

Come on!

It's like asking a QB to throw it and catch it, too.

:D

Non pitchers never get hurt batting

I never feel more clueless while watching a baseball game on TV than I do with Physioc commentating.

Have fun watching turds hit and even worse players have to play in games because of the shit rules.

baitism 06-29-2016 07:19 PM

Royals broadcast crew is terrible (tv and radio). I always listen to the opposing broadcast, if possible.

Because nothing says sport like swinging a bat, going back into the dugout for fifty minutes to watch tape while everyone else is playing, and going back out to hit again.

I stream most of the games and mostly have opposing announcers. They all are better than ours. Very noticeable.

Why Not? 06-29-2016 07:23 PM

Such irony. I love Wong and Garcia as UH Alums. Yet they both play for the Cardinals

baitism 06-29-2016 07:23 PM

Don't throw Garcia anything good to hit.

Spott 06-29-2016 07:23 PM

Watching pitchers hit is the equivalent of seeing kickers in the NFL trying to play defense. Once in a blue moon you'll see a kicker lay a hit on someone or make a great tackle, but the majority of the time it's a snoozefest.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-29-2016 07:24 PM

Garcia taking on 3-1 hitting 8th was damned stupid.

Are you from around those parts? I can't imagine growing up/attending college in Hawaii, that would be something.

baitism 06-29-2016 07:26 PM

Counterpoint: If pitchers don't hit. Colon doesn't ruin Shields' career.

Because everyone stops to watch Alcides Escobar bat.

Also, if pitchers don't hit, we don't get into this argument every year with the same people. LMAO

Clearly we get to watch the superb defensive outfield play of Matt Holliday and Morales. Instead of seeing players like Grichuk and Orlando tonight. And then top off when players like Pete Kozma and Dusty Coleman have to play and decide games. Real great baseball there.

Yes sir. Born and raised until I was 14. My dad went to UH so they were my first sports love. Grew up spending every weekend in the spring at Rainbow Stadium.

They did in the WS last year.

EDIT: Scratch that, the postseason the last two years.

mr. tegu 06-29-2016 07:28 PM

We have gotten the third batter of the inning on sith two outs in each inning so far. It would be nice to get the leadoff guy on.

Why Not? 06-29-2016 07:29 PM

I can think of at least 5-6 pitchers I would rather see hit than Alcides Escobar

Yes. You actually have to use your bench. A novel concept.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-29-2016 07:31 PM

I cannot wait to see the strike zone map for this game. This guy is ass awful.

I don't think you'd want to see Grichuk playing right now.
