Sure-Oz 11-18-2008 09:31 AM

I finally got through all 6 of my dvd sets and am so ready for this, it's really going to suck for me to wait week to week to see the next episode, ive been spoiled watching all of them on dvd.

007 11-18-2008 04:39 PM

Pretty sure it is only a 2 hour movie.

Yea i did that for the first 5 season, it kind of sucks when your watching them on DVD, because you cant stop, and before you know it 5 or 6 hours have gone by.

My gf and I did that many times, every single weeknight we'd cram 2 or 3 in and on a weekend night we'd stay up till 4am watching episodes and turns out we watched like 12 eps, crazy. Great show!

I remember when I first started watching 24. It was only mid season 2. Wife & I rented the 1st season and watched it in 2 1/2 days.

LOL, that's awesome. My best friends mom is going in for cancer treatment soon and will be stuck in the hospital for a few weeks so im going to loan her my season 5 and 6 of 24 so she can catchup, she'll be happy to have something to do besides feeling crappy.

I randomly tuned in one night in the third episode of season 1. Hooked me and I watched ever since. Up til 4 episodes left in last season.

I've officially dropped it now. Seasons 1-4 were money.

lolzzz123 11-20-2008 06:18 AM

Seasons 1-3 were the nuts, while seasons 4-6 were just better than average television imo.

lolzzz123 11-20-2008 06:19 AM

Oya, can't wait :)

That season was awesome, i was impressed....

6 wasn't bad but after season 5 it seemed OK at best

Season 1 was the best.

Seasons 4 and 5 close behind.

irishjayhawk 11-20-2008 05:22 PM

Can someone recap season 5 again?

And I agree with the notion that season 1 was the best.

kcxiv 11-20-2008 05:40 PM

I liked season 3 with the Virus. At least i think that was season 3.

Season 5: Jack had fake his death at the end of season 4 to escape having to be captured by the Chinese for storming into the Chinese consulate. Only 4 other people knew about it -- President Palmer, Chloe, Michelle, and Tony. In the first episode of season 5, Palmer and Michelle are killed, with Tony badly injured. Chloe is a target, too, but she calls Jack and arranges to get rescued. The murder of Palmer is set up to frame Jack.

Palmer et al are killed because of Palmer's knowledge about the existence of a supply of Syntox Nerve Gas. A anti-Russian seperatist group gets ahold of the Syntox on this, the day of a arms/intelligence treaty between Russia and the U.S.

Jack is able to trace the Syntox back to a government-connected company run by Christopher Henderson, Jack's old boss at CTU (before the show). Henderson is not the main villian, though. Eventually, it is revealed that President Logan (!) had been responsible for much of the day's events. Logan was working with a mysterious man wearing a bluetooth earpiece (revealed in season 6 to be Jack's brother, Greahm).

Jack, in tandem with friends, is able to get Logan arrested. But the Chinese capture the now-out-of-hiding Jack and bring him to China to be held and tortured.

My shitty rundown does not convey how solid this season was.

2 was good but I thought 3 was bad. But not season 6 bad.

mikey23545 11-20-2008 06:05 PM

LOL, it's funny reading so many other people's experiences watching the DVD's...Me and the Missus were introduced to the series by some friends and told we just had to go out and rent season 1 on DVD to catch up...So one weekend we went down to Blockbuster and got the first two DVD's, watched them straight through (what is that, 6 episodes I think?), and were immediately on the phone to Blockbuster begging them to please hold the next two DVD's for us until we could get there...

Season 1 was some of the greatest TV ever made...

I look forward to the time when I sit down and watch all the seasons again. Don't want to do it too often though or they get old.

I was referring to people that were thought to be dead. She wasn't.

EDIT

and they better have a friggin better storyline if she is involved. They have failed miserably with her starting at season 2.

But Kim was never "knocked off" in the first place. The audience was simply given a wonderful reprieve. In fact, the absence of Kim was probably the only redeeming part of Season 6 beyond the first 5 episodes.

I cannot believe Kim is still going after all these years. She is so dumb and has the worst luck ever. She makes the characters on Heroes seem smart. I would have put a bullet in my head if I were her. A sample of her days:

Day 1: Boyfriend kidnaps her, gets killed when he tries to help her escape. Her mom is killed by her fathers lover/partner.

Day 2: Gets stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a crazy loner, then is held hostage in a convienent store robbery. And i am sure some other reeruned shit.

Day3: Works for CTU and is trapped in the basement with a mole who is also in co op with Jack. Hooks up with jacks handless partner who leaves her shortly after?

Day 4: While visiting her dad atwork, CTU is attacked with Bio weapons and she watches all her old friends and co workers die in front of her.

Am I missing something?

The only problem i have had with them killing people is President Palmer and Curtis. Curtis was the black ****ing jack bauer! President Palmer was jacks soul mate damnit and come on how can you kill Pedro Cerrano?
