Carnival Cruise Ship Stranded For 3rd Day - Sewage "Running Down The Walls"
Ever been on a cruise ship?
I haven't and this is one of the reasons why. I'm sure people have had good times, but to me, you are a prisoner to the ship once you leave shore. "Foul conditions aboard stranded Carnival cruise ship Triumph: Passengers describe 'sewage running down the walls' and people acting like 'savages' Since a fire broke out in an engine room Sunday morning, the Carnival Triumph has been drifting off the coast of Mexico. A total of 3,143 passengers and 1,086 crew have been forced to make do with cold food, no hot water, sweltering indoor temperatures, and few working toilets. A tow boat is expected Thursday, after an initial plan to tow the ship to a port in Mexico was scrapped." Hope they didn't run out of booze

Supplies are getting delivered to them. Toilets aren't working and are backing up piss and shit onto the floors. No lights, no power, people are eating onion and cucumber sandwiches. |
A voucher for a free cruise for your troubles.... LMAO...
Reason 6,892 why cruises are stupid. |
Sweaty, drunken, sewagy, debauchery goin on.

You find the funniest news. I love it. Keep up the good work

Lord of the Flies on the high seas.
By Thursday, there will be lit torches ringing the deck and heads on pikes. |

The only cruise I would want to to do is on a private yacht with 5 nekkid bitches. Then I hope we get stranded. |
There is some hot ****ing going on board that ship.
|
Glad I was on Triumph a month ago rather than now.

I've been known to eat an onion sandwich or two. Cucumber sandwiches are the bomb, but doubt they are getting them like the ones I've had. |

Let's just say there'd be so many Piggys aboard, people wouldn't know what to do with themselves |
Now THAT is an Upper Decker......
I've been practicing for that situation my whole life. It's why it's fun to pee off of a deck, porch and over a ledge. Duh. |
That ship is a real dump.
|
Carnival sounds like the Wal Mart of the cruise industry.

To the window to the wall!

Just for sport, I'd like to see some pirates climb the wall and hop over the rail into a steaming pile of dook....and then jump back into the water.
|
I was on Carnival Splendor just months before it had caught fire a few yrs back.
I think it was on the news then. |
I'm intrigued by the concept now. If you had a pirate ship that could hold 4,000 people, can you imagine the havoc you could cause? Imagine an amphibious force of 3,000 pirates descending on Charleston or Corpus Christi. You hit the docks, you rob the banks and jewelry stores, you do a little raping and pillaging, and then pull it all back onto the ship and leave.
Now, the U.S. Navy might blow you out of the water before you could hit American soil, but I bet you could hit a place like Santo Domingo or Monrovia or maybe even Malta. |
Monty's wife is on this cruise with a group of girlfriends. Crazy stuff.
|
Soon to file for the Big B.

His wife said "honey let's go on a cruise"
We'll eat buffet shrimp and over-priced booze. We'll nap in the sun and I'll spit shine your pecker now the cruise ship is broken in need of a wrecker The bathrooms not working too well any more and we sit in our economy cabin, the temp 104 The food is all gone the water dried up now our stunning vacation turned into 2 girls and 1 cup. The nude deck disgusting, legs getting hairy duck dynasty bearded bikini lines scary Our cell phones are dead, no outgoing calls At least there is bean dip that runs down the walls? Always the optimist, the good I will find to see positive news, even when in a bind. Should a jelly fish sting ruin our bliss At least there's no shortage, of medicinal piss. We could be on a beach in Hawaii where we tent camp and rough it but now our cruise ship has turned into 4000 people, 1 bucket. 5 days of romance without showers, now your cooter is rotten. This trip....your idea that won't be forgotten. |

I know exactly what you mean. "What do you mean the midnight buffet is closed?!?!?!? I'M GONNA STARVE UNTIL BREAKFAST!!!!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S NO BREAKFAST, EITHER?????????????????" |
A couple days without hot food, a running toilet, or AC. Sounds like... camping.
The sewage part does sound pretty gross though. |
This ship is twice the size of the Titanic.
All they need is an iceberg now. |

This is ****ed up for everyone involved. What is Carnival tell ya'll and how or they going to make up for this nightmare? If they give you a voucher would you use it or cash it in? |
I guess it's true the only real reason to go on a cruise if to get your stalker on.
|
This cruise will be reimbursed in full, plus all onboard charges minus the gift shop and casino. An additional voucher for the same price paid as this cruise will be issued. Knowing her, she will book another cruise, but we'll see how enthusiastic she is on Friday. Yeah, I am sure this sucks, but I heard that the crew is giving out free alcohol. That may improve morale just a bit. The worst part is no communication, but that will change on Thursday.

Doesn't it seem like it would be possible to have emergency generators or something similar on ships that size that could at least keep the essential utilities up and running?
|
And this not too long after my "Ever been on a cruise?" thread.
|
To make that cruise worse, they are getting towed back to Mobile. After seeing Mobile, they might want to get back on the ship.
|
I just got off a cruise sunday. This ship was at one of our ports of call.

The free gifts will lose their luster when disembarking, family and friends realize that the bottom half of their "My wife went on a Carnival Cruise and all I got was this T shirt" was ripped off to use as an ESK(Emergency Shit Kit).
If I were on that cruise, I'm pretty sure I'd blow mud off the Bow of the boat and shout "KING OF THE WORLD!". |
I think I'd be commandeering a lifeboat about the time one of the little boats in the video was coming by.

While my wife was packing for the trip, she kept saying that she really liked going on cruises and that she should do it more often. It will be interesting to hear her opinion now. ROFL It still sucks not being able communicate though. |

This is America. I would definitely look into suing for lost wages, emotional distress, sexual harassment, attempted rape, robbery, etc, etc, etc. You can bet someone is. You just don't want a class action. |
As many problems as Carnival has been having with boats burning, breaking down or rolling over, taking one of their cruises sounds like about as good of an idea as having uncle Sandusky watch your kids for the weekend.

It's probably not fun now, but she's going to have a great story later about how she was once adrift at sea. She won't have to tell people that it was on a cruise ship. |

I had someone bump me in bumper to bumper traffic a few years ago. Maybe doing 1 mph or less. I had an eye witness that saw this guy do it on purpose. I think the traffic was getting to him. I went the neck doctor and claimed soft tissue damage which they can't prove or disprove. The insurance company settled for 120K, 1/3 went to the lawyer. Make sure you get a lawyer that will do it on a contingency basis, no money out of pocket. You already have a cause of action. |
Karma says next time you will be hit at more like 51 mph.

It was legit Spinal Stenosis in my neck. I was born with Spinal Stenosis in my back, this just make it worse. 1 mph is all it takes. |

(10:30 a.m. EST) -- Carnival Cruise Lines CEO and president Gerry Cahill said Tuesday conditions aboard Carnival Triumph, which suffered an engine room fire Sunday morning, are very challenging. But he insisted there are working toilets, playing down the image playing out in the national media of sewage running down the walls. "No one here from Carnival is happy about the conditions aboard ship… there is no question that conditions onboard are very challenging. Most of the public bathrooms, there are 23 public bathrooms, most of them are working," he said during a news conference in Miami. There is also a "good section" of passenger cabins, in the forward and midship sections of the ship, that are working. His statement contrasts sharply with reports from the national media, as well comments from Cruise Critic members, that there are no toilets or running water and that there is human waste everywhere. LynnA last heard from her daughter-in-law Tuesday morning via text. "[Feces] and [urine] rolling across floor with every wave. People sick and throwing up every where," she texted. First-hand accounts in news outlets paint a similar picture. Jimmy Mowlam told the Miami Herald his 37-year-old son phoned him Monday night to say there is no running water and few working toilets. Passengers, he said, are being given plastic bags for when they need to go to the bathroom. Carnival maintains there is running water, albeit cold, on the ship, so passengers can wash their hands and take showers. Carnival Triumph is on its way Mobile, Alabama, under the power of two tugboats towing the ship at approximately 8 miles per hour. The ship is expected to arrive in Mobile late Thursday afternoon, where passengers can either spend the night in a hotel in Mobile or New Orleans or be bused back to Texas immediately. More than 1,500 hotels rooms in Mobile and New Orleans have been booked and 10 charter flights have been secured to fly passengers to Houston on Friday. For passengers with cars at the port of Galveston, buses have been arranged to bring them back. Carnival is in the process of securing buses for a Thursday evening transfer from Mobile to Houston or Galveston for passengers who would rather get home sooner, Cahill said. In the meantime, the line insists there is no shortage of food, with meals being served in the Lido dining area and at the grill in the poolside restaurant. A fire left the ship adrift in the Gulf of Mexico with no power Sunday, February 10. No one was injuried from the fire, which the line says was contained by the ship's automatic extinguishing system. A timeline for repairs to Triumph will be announced once the ship is in port and has undergone inspection, according to the line. Damage suffered by Carnival Splendor from an engine room fire in 2010 kept the ship out of service for more than three months. Yesterday, the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. The Bahamas Maritime Authority will be the lead investigative agency, as Carnival Triumph is a Bahamian-flagged ship. |

HOUSTON — Carnival Cruise Lines says it is cancelling another 12 voyages for the disabled ship that is being towed to Alabama after an engine room fire left it powerless at sea.
The cruises aboard the Triumph were to take place from Feb. 21 through April 13. Those cancellations are in addition to two other cruises that were called off shortly after Sunday's fire. The company says passengers will be fully refunded and get discounts on future cruises. There are more than 4,000 people aboard the ship, which is expected to be towed into Mobile on Thursday. The Triumph has had other mechanical problems recently that delayed a voyage in late January. Passengers aboard the disabled vessel have reported dismal conditions. Carnival has disputed those claims. Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/02/13...#storylink=cpy |
