I'm excited to get what Carl can do with Gibbs. It's going to be a great season.

When I was a kid/teenager I followed NASCAR really close. My dad and I watched every race each season and attended several in person.
I (and we) began losing interest as they started bringing in more rule changes and making the cars more uniform. I more or less stopped following it a season or so after they changed the name from Winston Cup. My understanding is that the trend has continued and they've tried hard to make it appeal to a wider audience with the Chase thing. What's this 'contender round/eliminator round' stuff about? |

As for the rest of it, if they didn't do what they're doing they'd have the $4T teams (like my own HMS) wiping-up the track with the $1M teams. There's a lot more to it than that, but most of it, how do you get 43 cars out there, many of which have a real shot to win? And, like any other sport, they want to make sure "the gear" is about as equal as you can get so that it's the drivers and pit crews winning the races, not the car with 300HP more than the rest. So it's just a matter of limits. Add to it they added safety they're looking to infuse into the sport, and you get an added layer. That being said, I think we all wish they'd get rid of the restrictor plates. Let them rip! |
If SPRINT spent more time making a network that doesn't suck than advertising they might not be laying-off so many people...
|
BK is 2015's first wreck... Larson might get a talking to, he just slowly drove up onto him.. LOL, Brad's going to be pissed!
|
Big wreck.... Many new cars will be built from scratch...
|
Gotta love a big wreck.
|
I love them more when Jeff's not affected!
|
Wow.... NASCAR will be lucky if folks don't end up racing with rentals at the rate they're going through cars in this qualifying format!
|

This group qualifying it's utterly stupid. Difference is, Nascar does not control the views or opinions of the drivers like the NFL does its players, yet. |
The drivers should all band together and have everybody run one 5 minute lap.
|
I wonder what would happen if somebody backed all the way down pit road. What happens to the sensor...
|
What's gay about this is that not only will a LOT of cars get torn up, in Daytona all that matters is getting in, but the 30th lap it won't matter where you started.
|
Dumbest thing I've ever seen
Posted via Mobile Device |
LOL, now cars that are out of it are going to start blocking for their team mates. I like it!!! so those with provisionals might never even try, just help their friends who don't have provisionals get in by blocking.
I think Mr. France has some work to do to fix this mess they invented! |

It sure would have been nice had they simply tried having the car you qualify with, as it was, being what you start the race with. So, no changes in setup, no new tires, no more fuel, just park the car and race it the way you crossed the start/finish line with at the end of your qualifying run. THAT would have brought-in some interesting strategy.
Oh, and are the 5 points for the pole (if you can get it from the others who need those same five points) worth starting the race low on fuel and a setup that won't translate well into the draft?? IDK, but it would be interesting... Well, more interesting than this bullshit... |
Maybe they should qualify at night with no lights.
I agree with what Kurt Busch said, Daytona qualifying is the single most prestigious thing for the crews and guys that build the cars. Go back to the old format. Especially for what GloryDayz said, 30 laps into the actual race it won't matter where you qualified. |
OK, it's dumb as all get out, but since Jeff won it I guess I'm a little less un-OK with it...
LOL, I'm a total homer! |

Enjoyed the changes last year, up to and including the knock out qualifying, except it was horrible at the super speedways...it's ridiculous.
As with the race next week, maybe for each super speedway race, they could just borrow the PowerBall Lottery's machine and fill it with 43 ping pong balls representing the drivers and then turn it on. First one to pop out is the winner/pole sitter. Seems about the same amount of skill as what happens most of the time anyway and I say this as a Gordon fan. I figure this will be my last year of following Nascar closely. |

Surprised that she let him live. |
wow...they better hold their line...
Yikes, these trucks are moving all over the track Edit: Caution, caution is out LOL |
It's refreshing to see that there are no Sprint Cup drivers in this race...let the kids shine.
|
Wow
|
The Big One!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Quote:
Unbelievable - We're watching a damn commercial as the Big One goes down and takes out almost the entire field... Looks like four trucks are left intact. |
Looks like the 4 truck and that blue ford slowed way down and caused all that.
|
Hey, Al!
How can you run out of gas on the first race - JC, they had months to figure out and plan for the race. Hell with Ty Dillon - Both brothers are irksome. |
Nascar already ****ing up. ROFL
|
The truck is falling apart and no caution? Debris flying all over the place
|
Good thing Tifft spun or Sauter's hood would have decapitated someone sitting in row 10.

OMG LMAO
Fire show NASCAR doesn't care - They're cold and just want to go home and get the hell out of there. |
Super Speedway racing...drive in the back of the pack, right blinker on...finish 10th.
|
It would be nice if they told us how many trucks are on the lead lap.
9,000 commercials - 15 min. of racing |
Quote:
|
hahahahahaha Silas has no vision due to his hood popping up over the windshield
|
we watch two laps of racing and then go to a commercial
|
Keselowski owns a truck?
|
NASCAR XFINITY Series (new name) Saturday, Feb. 21 / 03:30 PM ET
Daytona International Speedway |
10 to go
I am rooting for Keselowski's truck. |
Reddick
Theriault Lagasse Jones Black Jr. 8/9 to go. Time for a commercial |
Keselowski owns two trucks? LOL
7 to go |
Mikey pimping for Dillon the entire race.
Dillon in the back racing with the no-names - Mikey thinks he is going to win... Mikey, Let it go, the race is over for him... |
Tyler Reddick wins Daytona
awesome ending - 4 wide for 2nd. Keselowski's truck wins! First time owner, first time winner at Daytona Dillon is just coming around turn 4 |
Shitty last 20 laps.. very boring and the fact that the guy in the other blue ford didn't try for the win.
