Disturbing Miley Cyrus Photos

A freaking 15 year old. WTF were her parents thinking? For all of you whose 5 year olds are watching Hannah Montanna, you better watch who they're emulating:

Also this lovely number of her and her dad:

She'll be in rehab in two years.

Anyone with a daughter from 5-8 should probably care. She's teaching 5 year olds to dress and act like little high school sluts.

Mecca 04-28-2008 02:45 PM

That's probably because she realizes she can make more money if she appeals to more than kids...

It's trendy,

Paris, Brittney, Christina... now Miley, not including all the other stupid rich sluts on TV now days... it's pathetic.

Sex sells, and people want cash.

Now, when I look at Miley I think to myself "wow she is going to be amazingly hot when she is legal (and developed)"... but that photo is just downright wrong.

So, how is that picture of a 15 year old in a seductive pose with just a sheet covering her... any different than what you might find on your local sex offender's pc? Granted, I know it's a 'respectable' magazine and all... but, if a pic like this of an average girl were found on some 45 year old's pc... he'd be in big trouble potentially.

Talk amongst yourselves...

morphius 04-28-2008 03:00 PM

I'm not sure how the second pic could be equated as bad in anyway, personally.

So? I mean I don't want my daughter to lose her virginity (at 15, or ever) but if fooling around happens, it won't be because she was in this photo, or because she is a celebrity, or because her father is a celebrity, it will be because she is a normal teenager.

I in no way support underage sex, but it happens.

Are you kidding? You are, right? These photos were taken by one the most celebrated photogs ever. Who are you to say how anyone should act, or teach others to act (other than your own children?) If 5-8 year old girls learn how to act like high school sluts, then the first people responsible are the parents. What irresponsible pieces of crap would let their children learn right and wrong from ANYONE other than themselves? That is where the blame belongs.

I think the way worse story of today is that Roger Clemons may have actually fucked a 15-year-old girl, whereas this story is just about a 15-year-old showing remorse for a mistake.

Anyong Bluth 04-28-2008 04:44 PM

First, I don't find the picture really all that "objectionable" - at least compared to some one that mentioned that its on par with a kiddy porn. I also don't have any interest is checking her out or grabbing a Vanity Fair.

I wouldn't want my daughter taking that picture, per se.

I don' think her dad is the 2nd coming of Joe Simpson- that guys is WAY CREEPY! BRC actually could and can still get his own tail.

She's 15. Some people here need to refresh their memory on exactly how much "adult" stuff you were doing at that age.. I know parents with kids that age don't want to think of that, but the only difference is we live in a Youtube society and she's a high profile girl so anything she does is immmediately broadcast across the interweb.

AGREED - I'm 28. Can't imagine starting to hookup with a 15 year old at this point in my life- let alone having anything to even talk about with them.

I told my daughters today (9 and 11) that Miley is in the doghouse here and we won't be watching Hannah Montanna for awhile. So far, that's a write off for Miley, Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears, and a few others that have started off on Disney...

...oh yeah, the little gitl that was in High School Musical, then had nude photos of herself on the Internet.

Makes it easier for me to pick shows I want to watch, anyway.

I always thought when you tell kids no, it makes them want to do stuff behind the parents back. Watching Hannah Montana is not going to make them become a slut. If a girl becomes a slut, its going to be because they want to be one.

You can be the best parent in the world, but in the end its their choice. I had the best mother in the world and i still made a ton of wrong choices because thats what i chose to do. I couldnt ask for a better mom.

She has said that she is very embarrassed by the photos and is deeply sorry to her fans.

I think she's sincere. I think in the heat of things, you can get carried away, and you probably have a number of Vanity Fair staffers telling her how great it looks and everything's fine. Pure manipulation.

But if I'm her father and I see them trying to take that picture, I'm stepping in without a bit of hesitation. So where was he on that one?

I just want to add a naked picture of someone on the net doesn't make them a bad influence it isn't like she flashed your kid or was doing dirty shit on TV.

I highly doubt your little girls go looking for nude women pics...

mcan 04-28-2008 06:02 PM

The reason teens (especially girls) are getting sluttier is because teens have been protected from adulthood instead of prepared, and when they hit puberty their bodies are saying the exact opposite of their (parent/church-parrot) minds.

Is there a pretty good reason why society wants to discourage teen sex?.. Yeah, I suppose there is. But the problem isn't the sex or the sexuality. It's that we don't train kids to make good decisions, or be responsible. We PROTECT them from having to make decisions at all. When the time comes, the decisions they make will be bad ones.

Hammock Parties 04-28-2008 06:02 PM

She's much hotter with dark hair. She should stick with it.

Well I think there are better parenting tactics and ideas than shielding your children from what is life....

When people go apeshit about a boob but some guys face exploding is just part of the general CSI plot I think that's a problem.

I would have to agree. People in the States are waaay too uptight about sex.

alnorth 04-28-2008 06:17 PM

This brings up another huge thing I've been seeing a lot lately. When it comes to the internet, kids are smart, but have absolutely no common sense whatsoever. They are absolutely oblivious to the risk of typing private thoughts or putting their picture on the internet, even if its just e-mailing or sending a phone pic to someone who they thought was a good friend.

I often have to think a couple times before agreeing to type in my phone number on a standard purchase, and thats with a respected corporation. There is no way in HELL I would e-mail pictures of myself in a compromising pose to ANYONE, because once its on the net, you've completely lost ownership and control over it, and its only a couple careless forwards away from being e-mailed everywhere and/or plastered on someone's web page.

With kids though, its like they think they have some kind of protection or anonymity that doesnt exist. They have no concept of danger on the web. (and I'm not talking about physical danger, just pure horrifying shame) Since we didnt grow up with it, we stepped into the internet cautiously with some suspicion, accepting only what we wanted to use. These kids that are born into having the internet, its like they have this instinctive trust that this technology will never turn on them in any way.

Bottom line: if your a parent, you need them to KNOW that they should never type or e-mail any words or pictures that they wouldnt be completely fine with having everybody in town and at school read and see. Once your embarassing picture or careless remarks are out there, you could be haunted by it for a damned long time.

alnorth 04-28-2008 06:23 PM

Now that I think about it, if someone had a teenage girl who seems really naive, it might be good to show her these Miley pics as an example of what could happen (on a smaller scale, e-mailed all over school) if she does the same thing with her friends. They get in a fight (like girls always do), her former friend decides to embarass her, and thats it.

pictures in the old days were different, maybe you could grab it or someone would confiscate, it was a pain in the ass to make tons of copies of a photograph, but forwarding stuff like this takes no effort at all.

mcan 04-28-2008 06:26 PM

Part of the problem is what you and Mecca are talking about. We've got a sex=sin attitude. But that's just scratching the surface. We've taught our kids not to think critically about anything at all. We've taught them that an education is nothing more than memorizing some stuff until you take a test. We've taught them that their own feelings sexual or otherwise are foolish. We've taught them that parents know what's best (but we all know that parents are guessing and have little to no more education than the kids). We make them stupid, and when they talk we realize how stupid they are and instead of fixing it, we ignore them. So they get louder. Eventually, they become stupid teens who rebel against their stupid parents, and they wind up engaging in stupid, extreme and risky behavior. Look no further than shows like "Jackass" and you'll see what I'm talking about. For many, that rebellion manifests itself with drugs and violence. Sex is the least of our problems.

Sounds like those two really dropped the ball.

I also think there's something fundamentally f*d up in the country's attitude towards the human body. Then again, we were founded by people so tight-assed the English kicked them out.

I think our messed up idea that nudity=sin and such has a lot to do with driving the deviance in our society.

Your point is well taken about the majority of your post. My argument is that, we probably shouldn't be teaching our kids to be ashamed of any of this in the first place. I'm not talking about abondoning all modesty. But, I think modesty has very little to do with morality. It's more to do with tact.

Suppressing sexuality as a teen is FAR more damaging to a psyche than goofing around and taking some provacative photos.

I am just going to have to disagree with you on practical grounds. You and I individually are not going to change the norms and mores of US culture. I also strongly disagree that our culture encourages or causes deviance, there is plenty of that in more "open" cultures, I believe that "our way" in the US is neutral towards encouraging or preventing sexual deviance.

Aside from that, you can try to raise a kid to be the most Liberal, free, frank, and open person in the world if you want, but aside from this belief and behavior making her stick out in itself, thats not going to stop everyone else in the school from teasing her mercilessly if she does something everyone else perceives as embarassing. Kids can be cruel, and you have to be practical.

Aside from that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with our culture encouraging restraint and some small (and shrinking) level of modesty, if for no other reason than the vast majority of people are unpleasant to look at without clothes.

I think the fact that it's a 15 year old girl that alot of our own children look up to or admire or whatever and the media wants to create into a sex symbol to sell magazines/stories is where part of the outrage comes from as well.
