mlyonsd 03-31-2013 10:53 AM

Ham loaves basted in brown/sugar/vinegar/yellow mustard
Yukon gold sweet potatoes layered casserole
Roasted broccoli
Homemade bread
Brown mustard deviled eggs
Mini angel food cakes with strawberries with Grand Marnier whipped cream
Wine

Savory cheesecake spread on pita chips for an appetizer

seclark 03-31-2013 11:12 AM

nothing, unless i make myself a sammy.

wife was up early, making baked ham and a cherry cheesecake. said it was for dinner at her sisters. i didn't say anything, but after church she asked me if i was going. i thought i was being given a serious choice, so i said no. so she came home and loaded up the chow and headed north, leaving nothing for me.

son called and asked how the hell i got out of it, cause he has to go. i told him at least he gets some dinner out of the deal.

guess i'll clean out the garage.
sec

In58men 03-31-2013 11:23 AM

Baked ham for lunch with tater salad and some other sides that I don't know of yet.

Didn't bbq those ribs last night, so they'll go on the grill tonight for dinner along with mashed taters, corn and grilled asparagus with a dust of Parmesan cheese.

I made a bunch of these deviled eggs for my nieces and nephew.

lewdog 03-31-2013 12:51 PM

There should be a sub-forum for threads like this!

Planetman 03-31-2013 12:52 PM

Candy covered chocolate Easter eggs, Peeps, Skittles, chocolate Easter bunny (not the cheap hollow kind) and, of course, jelly beans.

What?

Just Passin' By 03-31-2013 12:59 PM

I'm going to my brother's, so I'm at the mercy of his choices (and those of his girlfriend). I know we're getting ham, mashed potatoes, beets, pickled onions and garlic, and a buffalo chicken cheesecake. Beyond that, I'm in the dark.

Demonpenz 03-31-2013 01:00 PM

Pork Rhines with ranch dressing for dipping.

it sounds weird but the way my mom made buffalo cheese cake would take Tysons Chicken Buffalo boneless wings from the freezer and blended up and add milk and flour pour in a sheet pan let sit then put that on graham cracker crust with some mayo and whipped cream.

My wife is making a fancy lemon chicken dish that has potatoes in it, and we're also having peas. She made a homemade carrot cake for dessert.

Yeah, it was our nod to the Easter Bunny and Spring. She let me make the call over pound cake and german chocolate cupcakes. If cheesecake was in the mix, it would've been harder, though.

Made these for an appy tonight. Pam seared scallops with a butter garlic sauce. Salt and pepper to taste.

It was my first time making them. Turned out very good. Still have some things that can be fixed.

The wife's working tonight. I'm grilling on my new grill - just basic hamburgers, but I'm upping the ante with some homemade bacon.

tooge 03-31-2013 06:36 PM

I call them southwest salmon sammys, or the triple S.

Grilled salmon on toasted multigrain bread wit avacado slices a piece of romaine lettuce, tomato slices, and a cabbage slaw with sour cream, onion, chili powder and cumin.

Delicious!

They were very good but a bit messy to eat. My kids were chanting " man vs food"!
