Geno Smith will be on 610 Sports Wed.

Geno Smith will be on at 12:30 on the Danny Parkins show 610 sports.

I posted this in the Geno thread but I know some of you hate mega threads. I believe this is the first time he's done an interview with KC media.

People love the athletic makeup. Fast, big, strong...

He's just not much of a QB yet, if he ever will be.

I've read that he's not very smart, though I don't recall the source(s). Either way, I wouldn't want my franchise to trust its offense to someone who can't execute an advanced NFL gameplan or make smart adjustments at the line.

Not where I can listen so could some cliff note it for those not able?

RealSNR 02-13-2013 12:32 PM

They're gonna ask Geno what he thinks of the haters.

Oh man. Rape on the radio.

RealSNR 02-13-2013 12:34 PM

Why did you decide to throw at the combine?

A matter of competing and showing scouts and coaches what I can do

RealSNR 02-13-2013 12:35 PM

Why did you differ from other top QBs in the past?

"It's one of those decisions that my agents and coaches have helped me out. Throwing is one of my strong suits. If you do well at the combine, that's an opportunity to prove myself"

silver5liter 02-13-2013 12:36 PM

Says he wants to go to the combine to shut people up. yesssss

RealSNR 02-13-2013 12:38 PM

Missed some there. Wacky internet thing.

Do you consider yourself the top QB in this class?

"Yes, I have a goal, I have ambitions, and I'm going to work until I get there. I'm humble and quiet, but football is something I love to do"

Chief_For_Life58 02-13-2013 12:38 PM

What are your goals when you get to the NFL?

"Compete and win every game. If you're working with that kind of mentality, that's how you be successful. If you carry that to the practice room and the game field, that's how you achieve that."

Chief_For_Life58 02-13-2013 12:39 PM

They just played Mel Kiper saying there is no QB worth a first round pick and Geno politely said "**** you Kiper"

Chief_For_Life58 02-13-2013 12:41 PM

"Mel Kiper can suck my dick" -Geno Smith

RealSNR 02-13-2013 12:41 PM

Asked him about Mel Kiper's comments of a QB not going at 1.

"I can't speak for anyone but myself. It hurts to hear that, but they do their thing just as a fan of the game does, and that makes no difference what I will do for my career. Aaron Rodgers went later. Tom Brady was in the 6th round. I'm not worried because everyone has an opinion. It's only motivation for me."

RealSNR 02-13-2013 12:42 PM

Where I get picked in the draft isn't going to change me or affect me emotionally. I'm still going to do what I do no matter what

The one on the net is a 4.7-4.8. When asked he said he will impress. Really think he will be alot faster than that at the combine.

He's a legit 4.65 guy. If he runs faster than that, that's great.

But it's more about his arm and his head.

His throws are going to drop some jaws and his interviews are going to cement him as the #1 pick.

Theres an interview?

Buckweath 02-13-2013 01:03 PM

Geno Smith has proven he is a pocket passer and doesn't run much. Why do people care that he runs a 4.6 or 4.8 at the combine?? I wish he wouldn't even run that 40-yard dash, because that's useless in his case.

Because scouts love it for what ever reason.

So far callers are positive on the interview. One guy even said, "It's time. There's a much bigger question mark around NOT taking a QB."

Hammock Parties 02-13-2013 01:13 PM

If Geno runs a 4.6, it means that even though he's a passer, when he DOES run he's capable of making a big play.

And I honestly think if he runs that, we oughta put some spread options in our offense because it would be sicknasty in tandem with Jamarrrllll.

Not too much. I don't want Geno getting hurt. Just a smidge.

Doesn't hurt. I'd prefer him to be great at every event even in things he doesn't do much. If possible, I hope he runs a 4.2 40.
