Anyone here doing the E-Cig / Vape thing?
Thanks to my vape, I've had only one single cigarette in the past 3 weeks. I have zero cravings for them and I feel considerably better. In fact, I still have about 5 smokes left in a pack and just can't see myself smoking those... don't want to.
Even better... 5ml of juice, which costs $5, lasts me about 2 weeks meaning that I am spending less in the long run. I only smoked, at most, a pack a week... but still. I tried the Blu E-Cigs but they were terrible. Trying to "smoke" out of one of those was like trying to take a hit off a joint that was rolled WAY to tight. I'm using an eGo-V v2 mega battery with variable voltage control with a gravity tank. http://www.vividsmoke.com/image/cach...ck-650x650.jpg |
I tried some of the cheap ones no good
my boss is using one that looks like a pipe and says it works he is a little more prone to outbursts now but we have a mother of a deadline right now |
How exactly does the eGo-V suffer from blu? I've talked to a bunch of people including family who couldn't make the switch to the blu. What were the drawbacks and how is eGo better?
Been thinking of getting some sort of portable vape myself for a different reason. |

As for the vape. There is no difficulty in taking a drag and each drag produces a nice amount of smoke. Better yet, it hits the back of your throat almost like a cig does. Also, you don't have to buy new cartridges each time... you simply refill the tank with juice that costs far less than the replacement cartridges. |
And you can find replacement juice with THC in it....
Lol I've heard many mixed reviews. Seems the cheaper e cigs are crap but spend a little more upfront and get your cravings met. Like you said PR. I've been thinking about the switch. |
dumbest ****ing habit I ever picked up
leaving dead hookers in the dumpster was much easier to quit than smoking |
I currently use an Ego twist and have been without cigarettes for quite some time (see my sig). I love it, the only thing that sucks is trying to find the right juice. They can taste amazing at first, but after a day or so the flavor can get boring. I currently only use three flavors and I need to start searching for more before they get boring.
If anybody is interested in doing this and has any questions, I would be more than happy to help. I've done quite a bit of research on the topic. |
I've been using mine for about a year now and love it. I order my juice from here http://www.mister-e-liquid.com/ They have a great variety and they taste better than anything local I've found.

What tanks are you guys using? I use Kanger mostly. I love the Protank and the Protank II mini. It keeps me from having to buy a shit ton of different coils for replacement. With these coils running at $1.75 a pop and being bottom fed I am a happy customer.
|
The most you have smoked is a pack a week and you can't just put them down cold turkey?
WOW. This should be extremely easy. You were not even smoking 3 cigs a day. |
I use the gator vapor tanks that can be rebuilt for about $1.50. Considering how much money I save by not buying cigs, I ain't bitching

My father in law runs a vapor store. Dude makes a lot of money off of it right now. Makes his own juices in house.
The only problem with those is that if the government decides to tax it like cigarettes, nobody will save that money from it. But if you are doing it to quit it wouldnt matter anyways. |

These? |

Try one of these bad boys out. They are bottom fed unlike the ones I pictured above so you can burn the liquid at a higher voltage without drying out the wick and getting that nasty burnt taste. The tank is made of pyrex so you can put citrus and cinnamon in there without etching your tanks. Plus the thing lasts for an eternity and I have yet to spring a leak with this tank. I haven't had gurgling or juice come back up the mouth piece either. The only downside to these is the tank holds about 1.2 ml of liquid. So I fill it up almost every day, but worth it for the tank. The replacement wicks work on the larger size protank as well. The initial cost seems a bit high at $13.99 but that comes with a replacement coil as well. |

I asked a physician about these and she was strongly against them because there's been no research into their safety, no way to know what's in the chemicals you're inhaling or in the device itself, etc. Supposedly most of them are made in China or the liquid is sourced from China.

My girlfriends mother was a smoker for 30+ years; after a month of vaping and not smoking her doctor was amazed at how clear her lungs sounded. We know that cigarettes kill. I'll take the uncertainty and the results for now. |

Well then! I be been debunked! I happen to think they're tasty sometimes. I always borrow a friend spare when we're hanging out. However, I prefer a real cigarette. I also smoke very very rarely.

Been using ecigs for about 6-7 years now. Love em. I'm, slowly, decreasing the nicotine in the juice and hope to stop complexly within the next year.
I will be honest and say they aren't as satisfying as a real cig, BUT they help with the addiction of the motion and nicotine. I have always and still LOVE cig smoke (always have liked the smell and taste), but I don't like the after smell. I'm glad I stopped smoking and the ecig has helped greatly! I wouldn't turn back now. helpful links/Currently use and love http://shop.nhaler.com/The-Curve-Reg...teel-curve.htm https://www.vapedudes.com/NATURALS--Espresso_p_294.html http://shop.nhaler.com/Vivi-Nova-DUAL-COIL-Tank-453.htm |

Interesting this thread came up. I quit for over a month and never craved a smoke when I was vaping with my Njoye 500. Got it from cignot.com. Then my house got broken into and I went out and bought smokes and haven't quit since. That was almost 4 years ago. It took me a few days to get used to it, and I smoked with it for a little under a week. When I got it down though and the hit felt just like a smoke, I never turned back.
Told the wife today I was going to do it again, and bought one of the new fangled ecigs. It's harsh as **** which I don't remember, but I'm sure I'll figure this one out as well. Good luck to all! I smoke 2 packs a day and sometimes more, so I'm looking forward to not only saving the money, but also getting that great feeling back in my lungs! It's pretty important really. I can't justify the cost of my heavy smoking habit if we're moving to a place where the price of my brand doubles. I'm not paying 10k a year to ****ing smoke! **** that noise! |
Good luck Flop, you can do it!

Even if you have to go to a lower nicotine level, just to tolerate it, you can hit it more and it's still healthier for you. Just remember: you have your 2.4 if you find yourself in a dire situation, which is key. I only smoked one brand and it was menthol. I can't stand menthol e-juice. Try some stuff, you might surprise yourself and in my opinion you should never look for anything that reminds you of your old cigarettes; you won't find it. Just accept the change and realize the flavor is a part of that. Honestly the exploration of juices turned it into a bit of a hobby for me and made the transition more enjoyable. Sooner or later you'll find yourself saying I need my e-cig, not a cig and it's all down hill from there. |

My problem isn't the throat hit. This is actually kicking the shit out of my lungs. And I mean like immediately as I start hitting it, I start coughing like a mother****er!

I think I know what you are doing... Are you pulling the vape right into your lungs like a joint?

And yes, I agree he should try different flavors and stay away from the imported shit. It seemed to hit a lot harsher than the handcrafted liquids we discussed earlier |
Hey, thanks for the PM dude! That's exactly what I was doing wrong, and while I'm still coughing, it is a lot more natural now! Perfect! I owe you a beer the next time I'm in KC. I'll check out some different flavors. Couldn't hurt. Appreciate the insight today, gentlemen.

Naw, I was dead serious. I was hitting it like a joint. That was the problem. Still really harsh, but I'll adjust. I appreciate the help. Heh, I was trying to figure out your PM about not coughing up a lung, now I get it. Quote:

Just picked up some Blue Voodoo from Mr. E Liquid. Can't put it down. It's like a blueberry/blue raspberry flavor, but not super sweet, just right.
Also, I am really huge on these Kanger Pro-Tanks. I am now at 6 months with my first one and have yet to experience leakage, gurgling, or, the worst of them all, juice coming up the air tube. I have changed coils on this 3 times now, and it is working like a champ. |
I've been vaping since June. Smoked for about 30 years. I tried a Joy-e 510 about 4 years ago and it really worked well, but the juices were all on line and the batteries would not last long. Then this year a place opened in Omaha called Plumes. There are now something like 5 places in Omaha you can get GOOD ecigs, bigger tanks, bigger batteries, more juices etc.
I am now smoke free. I don't even want a cigarette like I did when I was on the Joy-e. They smell and taste like shit to me. I'm using 11 mg of nicotine in the juice, which is akin to an ultralight cig. Any less than that level and I've found the lack of throat hit makes it rather pointless. I've tried a few flavors, but I've settled on Ultamint, which is literally like a nice breath mint. My lungs are totally clear. I'm a singer and I do voice work, and getting rid of cigarettes has made a phenomenal difference for my voice. Went to the Doc for a checkup and told him about them. He was more optimistic about them than cigarettes, and advised me to stay on it with the goal of quitting it too. I guess. But I figure I can pull on this damn thing forever and I'll still be better off than smoking cigarettes by a mile. Oh. Went hunting this last weekend...was able to vape in the field cuz there's no smell. That was a cool bonus! If you are a smoker, please please please look into this. I will never smoke a cigarette again. If you find the right kit and juices, you wont' either. Good Luck and VAPE ON!! |
I was a pack a day smoker for about 18 years or so. I stopped about 6-7 years ago with ecigs.
i started at 25 mg and now am down to 12 mg. Recently I decided to slow down my use of the ecig. I only use it in the mornings and nights. I'm hoping to be off the ecigs sometime next year. I get hell from it from everyone, but here is my current get-up: - The Curve (Nhaler) http://shop.nhaler.com/The-Curve-Reg...teel-curve.htm - Vivi Nova tank http://shop.nhaler.com/Aspire-Vivi-N...-Tank-1010.htm - IMR Hybrid 18650 battery http://shop.nhaler.com/IMR-HYBRID-18...attery-969.htm - Vape Dudes liquid (Espresso) http://www.vapedudes.com/ This lasts all day with only recharging the battery at night. I also buy some disposable ecigs from litecigusa.net for bars, restaurants, casinos, etc. so people don't look at me like I'm smoking a hooka or something :) |

I mentioned in another thread that I had bought one of those cheap ecigs to bring in to arrowhead for the Giants as well as the Raiders. The Chiefs front office would NOT return my phone calls regarding if there would be a problem bringing my ecig in, and I wasn't about to have them try to confiscate it, so I went that route. The gas station ecigs SUCK. Please, if that's all you've tried, go back and research. There are way better options out there.
By the way, it worked until about half time. 2 packs of smokes my ass. that's what they say you get out of the little ones. More like about 4 cigarettes. Each time I tried one they just did not last, but it was good in a pinch I guess. |

have been using it since September 15. I was a little over a pack a day smoker for 25 years. I find I pull on the e-cig a lot more than I ever smoked but it is better than smoking. I am at 24 mg nicotine. I smoked menthols only so I get cowboy menthol juice. One bottle is 25 dollars and lasts almost 2 months. Pretty good considering the cigs I smoked were near 70$ a carton. I didn't care about the money at first but now it is nice to know I am not smoking 400$ a month!

What's everyone's favorite liquids?
My favorites are from www.goodlifevapor.com My 2 favorite flavors from them are Deadly Sin (Cookie/Cake/Rice Krispy Treat/Cinnamon Bun flavor) and Zombie Blood (Strawberry Gummy Bear intense flavor). |
I only use one flavor and that is RY8. If I could find a Lucky Charms flavored vape, though, I would be all over it.

Can't be as bad for you as Cigs
