Which DE prospects do you like?
Doesn't matter which round really, but there seem to be quite a few good 3-4 DE prospects out there. Some of note:
Datone Jones UCLA Sylvester Williams UNC-local Missouri kid too Kawann Short Purdue Brandon Williams Missouri State Shariff Floyd Florida William Gholston Michigan State Any DE prospects you would like us to take a look at from round 2 on? Oh and anyone who brings up an LSU DL or the Utah DT will be negged by me. :D |
Sheldon Richardson.
And more Sheldon Richardson. |
Richardson from MU, but he won't be around near that long. I doubt Floyd will either.
The DT from Joplin had a good SR bowl, might be a good late rounder. I like Gholston alot, same with Floyd. Williams would be a great get. |
Sharrif Floyd

Don't think there is anyway Floyd is available in the 2nd, but if he is, yeah.
I'm a little torn on that pick. There should be great CB's there and great DT prospects. |
I too love Sheldon Richardson, though I severely doubt he'll make it out of the top 15, maybe not even out of the top 10.
I'm a really big fan of William Gholston. 6'7" 280 lbs who is really strong with an attitude. Could probably get him with our 3rd round pick. He has the body to put on weight too. Long long arms as well. |

Devin Taylor.
Though he's top heavy and has chicken legs so that scares me a little bit. But if he can add some strength and weight (15-20 lbs) then I think he can be a steal. |
I'm fine with anyone as long as their not from LSU.

But to be honest I want us to bring in a FA DE to start like Chris Canty. Rotate guys this year why we build the roster up.
|
Joe Kruger, Utah; 6'7", 280 lbs.
Brother of current Ravens DE/LB Paul Kruger. Led the Utes in sacks in 2012. |
Outside of the top guys, a lot of the 3-4 DE's this year are 'meh' for me. If we don't take Floyd, Richardson, Hankins, or Hunt at the top of 2 (most of them I expect to be gone in rd 1) then I'm not excited over a lot of the later round guys.
For the later rounds I like a lot of the corners, ILBs, and safeties much more. |

I do personally believe DE is the second greatest need on this team due to Dorsey and Jackson most likely being gone, but you can't force it. CB and S are both stacked so hopefully the defensive picks are made on the secondary. |
Datone Jones. A 3-4 DE that can actually rush the passer.
|
I think Sam Montgomery could do fine in the 3-4
|
Sam Montgomery is a rush-backer in the 3-4 at the next level. Not a DE.

I saw a mock this week that had Sheldon Richardson falling to 22. If that happens, phones better be ringing from KC.

LMAO Good luck stopping the run in a 3-4 base with your 260lb DE. |

Stopping the run is just as hard with 305 pound slugs who suck ass |

I think all are gone before rd 2. |
I think the top of the second will be chock full of legitimate first round talents no matter who goes in the first. This draft is just deep like that.
For example, how many safeties are going in the first? Corners? There will be first round talents at each position available in the second. |

Keenan Allen, Terrance Williams, Cordarrelle Patterson, Justin Hunter, Tavon Austin, DeAndre Hopkins, Da'Rick Rogers, Cobi Hamilton, Robert Woods aren't all going in rd 1 (not saying I'd take all of them at the top of rd 2). |
I'm starting to think there's a legit chance Patterson, Allen, Austin all go in the 1st.
